Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

The Bills are planning to release Chris Ivory, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Buffalo had the three oldest signed running backs in the league after adding Frank Gore to the backfield, so it isn't a surprise that they're moving on from the 31-year-old. LeSean McCoy and Gore will likely lead the way in 2019, but we don't think the Bills are precluded from spending a second- or third-round pick on a rookie that would potentially take over as the starter. Ivory should get another opportunity elsewhere.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory totals 91 yards in win over the Dolphins.

Ivory rushed 14 times for 45 yards, also adding a 46-yard reception. The veteran's first season in Buffalo ends with 115 attempts for 385 yards (3.3 YPC) and one touchdown, and the receiving numbers (13/205) were boosted after the long catch on Sunday. Turning 31 in March, Ivory is currently under contract for one more season with the Bills, but they could add at least one back through free agency and/or the draft.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory is off the Week 16 injury report.

Ivory does not carry and injury designation after practicing fully the last two days with his shoulder ailment. LeSean McCoy (hamstring) is also set to return to the lineup, so Ivory is not a recommended fantasy option with titles on the line.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory (shoulder) was officially a full participant in today's practice.

Ivory was also a full participant in practice last week, so his Week 16 status isn't certain yet. We'll see if he can avoid entering the weekend with an injury designation when the final injury report is released tomorrow.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory (shoulder) was limited in today’s practice.

Ivory was able to be a full participant in practice last week, but he didn’t play on Sunday. His Week 16 status is up in the air, but we’ll monitor his practice status throughout the week.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory (shoulder) is officially inactive against the Lions.

This is a bit of a surprise after Ivory was a full participant in practice during the week, but he apparently isn’t ready for contact because of his shoulder injury. Marcus Murphy and Keith Ford will lead Buffalo’s backfield today.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory (shoulder) was officially a full participant in today's practice.

Barring a setback, Ivory should be good to go for Sunday against the Lions. And with LeSean McCoy (hamstring) uncertain, Ivory has a chance to enter the FLEX mix for the second week of the fantasy playoffs.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory (shoulder) is doubtful to return against the Jets.

With under three minutes remaining, don't expect Ivory to return to today's game. The Bills are also down LeSean McCoy, so Marcus Murphy is set to handle any more backfield work in this game. Before leaving, Ivory had 12 carries for 42 yards.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory gets six carries against the Dolphins.

Ivory gained just four yards on his six attempts, and he's not a fantasy option right now.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory rushed three times for 14 yards in Sunday's win over the Jaguars.

Ivory wasn't really a factor behind LeSean McCoy (18 touches), and he remains just a decent handcuff down the stretch with unpredictable standalone value.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory (shoulder) was a full participant in today's practice.

After the bye, Ivory is set to return after missing Week 10 with his shoulder injury. The veteran running back isn't getting enough work to be a viable fantasy option right now.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory (shoulder) is inactive for Week 10.

Ivory was listed as questionable entering today's game, but he's not playing, leaving LeSean McCoy and Marcus Murphy as Buffalo's only two active halfbacks against the Jets. Because the Bills have a bye next week, Ivory should be ready to go in Week 12 against the Jaguars.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory (shoulder) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday.

Ivory was limited in practice the last two days and is considered day-to-day, so he probably has a decent show to play for the Bills. However, if active, the veteran running back would not be a highly-recommended fantasy option against one of his former teams.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory (shoulder) did not practice today.

It's only Wednesday, but ideally Ivory would have been at practice as at least a limited participant. We'll see if he's able to get out there tomorrow, but he's considered day-to-day for now.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory (shoulder) is out for the rest of today's game.

Before leaving, Ivory had seven carries for 38 yards and three receptions for 20 yards. There are under five minutes remaining in a blowout, so hopefully the Bills are just holding out the veteran running back as a precaution.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory leads the Bills in Week 8 rushing.

While LeSean McCoy struggled to get much going on runs bounced to the outside, Ivory ran well downhill against the Patriots. Ivory carried six times for 34 yards and added one reception for 11 yards. If McCoy is traded tomorrow, Ivory would have FLEX value, but otherwise he doesn't need to be on fantasy rosters.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory gets 19 touches against the Colts.

Ivory received a heavy workload after LeSean McCoy left the game with a head injury. Ivory carried 16 times for 81 yards and added three receptions (on six targets) for 25 yards in the Week 7 loss. If McCoy misses more time, Ivory would be at least a FLEX option for Week 8 against the Patriots.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory handles seven touches in Week 6 loss.

Ivory rushed six times for five yards and caught a four-yard pass in the 20-13 defeat. The veteran backup is worth monitoring in the case of a LeSean McCoy trade, but he isn't a recommended fantasy option as things currently stand heading into a matchup with the Colts next Sunday.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory rushes 14 times as the Bills ground-and-pound to last-second victory.

Ivory turned his 14 carries into 43 yards on a day where Buffalo ran it 43 times, and he wasn't targeted in the passing game. The formula was probably one that the Bills would like to stick to whenever possible, but the running game faces a tough challenge in Week 6 against the Texans. Ivory won't be a recommended FLEX play in 10- or 12-team leagues.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory gets six carries against the Packers.

Ivory gained 15 yards on his six attempts in the Week 4 loss. The veteran running back is not a fantasy option now that LeSean McCoy is back on the field.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory draws the start, impresses in win over the Vikings.

Ivory rushed 20 times for 56 yards, also adding three receptions for a team-high 70 yards in a 27-6 road victory. LeSean McCoy (ribs) was inactive, so Ivory operated as the workhorse in what turned out to be a dominant performance from the Bills. It might sound crazy, but compared to McCoy's off-script running, the no-nonsense style of Ivory might be a better fit right now behind a sub-par offensive line. The veteran would be a solid FLEX option in Week 4 if he draws another start against the Packers.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory scores in Week 2 loss.

Ivory rushed two times for seven yards, including a goal-line score in the second half. He also added a 30-yard reception. The veteran back looks like the preferred short-yardage option for Buffalo, but he isn't a recommended fantasy play and might not even be a worthwhile handcuff behind a sub-par offensive line.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory gets three carries in Bills' loss.

Ivory gained three yards on his three attempts against the Ravens. He's not a recommended fantasy option in Week 2 against the Chargers.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory is signing with the Bills, according to multiple reports.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says it'll be a two-year deal for the former Saints, Jets, and Jaguars running back. Ivory will immediately give Buffalo an excellent backup behind LeSean McCoy, which should help the soon-to-be 30-year-old McCoy remain fresh throughout the season. On the field, the pairing has a lot of upside for the Bills, though they could also be in the market for another running back in the draft. The downside fantasy-wise for McCoy is that Ivory could steal goal line carries, which could put a dent in his overall upside. Ivory will be among the best fantasy handcuffs for 2018.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory is visiting the Browns today, according to Ian Rapoport.

Ivory, who is free to sign at anytime after begin cut by Jacksonville last week, visited the Bills yesterday and reportedly has a visit with another team tomorrow. Isaiah Crowell will hit free agency, so the Browns could sign Ivory to fill the potential void. Cleveland is also expected to be a real contender to draft former Penn State running back Saquon Barkley, who is considered by many to be the top player available, in the draft with the first or fourth overall pick.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

The Jaguars have released Chris Ivory.

After Ivory was inactive in the playoffs, this was expected heading into the offseason. T.J. Yeldon came on strong toward the end of the season, and the Jags also have explosive running back Corey Grant in the backfield mix behind Leonard Fournette. This move gives Jacksonville over $3 million in cap space, and it's possible they look to add another back to the mix in the draft or free agency. Ivory will be 30 next month, but he should generate interest as a solid backup that runs hard and is underrated as a receiver.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory is inactive for the AFC Championship.

Ivory is again a healthy scratch, as the Jaguars are going with T.J. Yeldon and Corey Grant behind Leonard Fournette. The rookie Fournette should get another huge workload as the Jags look to advance to the Super Bowl.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory is inactive for today's playoff game against Pittsburgh.

With T.J. Yeldon back in the lineup after missing last week with an illness, the Jaguars have opted to make Ivory inactive for the Divisional Round. Rookie Leonard Fournette is expected to get a huge workload in the game, with Yeldon mixing in mostly in passing situation.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory handles one touch in win over the Bills.

Ivory rushed once for two yards, as Leonard Fournette dominated touches with 24 of them out the backfield. His only carry did come near the goal line, but Ivory probably won't be involved much next week in Pittsburgh.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory doesn't get a touch in Week 16.

T.J. Yeldon seems to have passed Ivory as the primary backup behind Leonard Fournette. Ivory is not a fantasy option right now.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory gets 17 carries against Houston.

With Leonard Fournette (quadricep) out, Ivory received most of the backfield work while the game was close against the Texans. He picked up only 42 yards on his 17 attempts, though, and fullback Tommy Bohanan convert a couple of goal line carries instead of him, likely infuriating fantasy owners that inserted Ivory into lineups. Fournette should be back next week, so Ivory isn't a fantasy option.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory rushed six times for 48 yards in Sunday's win over the Seahawks.

Ivory's long run was a 34-yarder, and he operated as the clear change-of-pace to Leonard Fournette in the victory. Fantasy owners probably don't need to roster him as anything other than a handcuff, though.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory gets five touches in Week 13.

Ivory gained 12 rushing yards on four attempts and added at three-yard reception against the Colts. It's difficult to trust him in fantasy lineups while he's behind Leonard Fournette.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory loses a fumble in Week 12 loss.

It came on his only touch of the game, a rush for negative-six yards. Ivory isn't a fantasy option with Leonard Fournette healthy, and T.J. Yeldon is the preferred handcuff and change-of-pace.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory gets six carries in Week 11.

Ivory gained only six yards on his six attempts, and though he was battling an illness entering the game, he's appeared to have fallen well behind in the backfield mix after getting about double-digit touches per game earlier in the season. Ivory doesn't need to be on fantasy rosters at the moment.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory gets two touches in Week 10.

Ivory carried once for one yard and caught one pass for -5 yards. He's one of the best backup running backs in the NFL, but Ivory is not a fantasy option behind Leonard Fournette—and T.J. Yeldon appears to be taking more and more work in the backfield. Ivory doesn't need to be on fantasy rosters at the moment.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory carries 20 times against the Bengals.

With Leonard Fournette inactive after violating team rules, Ivory and T.J. Yeldon handled most of the carries for Jacksonville. Ivory gained 70 yards on his 20 attempts, also adding three receptions for 34 yards in the Jaguars' win. Maybe the Jaguars will want to continue sending a message by keeping Fournette inactive in Week 10, but it's likely the talented rookie returns to take most of the work in the backfield against the Chargers.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory scores in Week 7.

Ivory was a popular pickup when Leonard Fournette (ankle) was declared out for the Jaguars, and he carried 17 times for 47 yards and a touchdown, but he also lost a fumble. Overall, it was a fine fantasy day—just not as big as most envisioned when inserting him into fantasy lineups. Ivory will be back to a spell role behind Leonard Fournette in Week 9, though T.J. Yeldon (nine carries, 122 yards, touchdown) might have carved out some touches in the backfield.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory plays great as a receiver out of the backfield in Week 6.

Ivory caught nine of ten passes for 74 yards and a touchdown while carrying twice for three yards against the Rams. Ivory's touchdown was a 22-yarder on a screen pass where he ran up the sideline basically untouched for the score. Ivory's previous career-high was six receptions, which he had last season with Jacksonville. Don't expect him to be this involved as a receiver moving forward, but he's definitely someone the Jags can try to get the ball to in open space more.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory plays well in Week 5.

In their usual run-heavy gameplan, Ivory received eight carries and picked up 41 yards against the Steelers. Again, Leonard Fournette is the clear workhorse in the backfield and received 28 carries in the game, but Ivory continues to contribute as a great option to spell Fournette.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory rushed nine times for 42 yards in Sunday's loss to the Jets.

He also caught a two-yard pass. Ivory is clearly behind Leonard Fournette for touches, limiting his fantasy appeal even in a run-heavy offense. The Jaguars travel to Pittsburgh in Week 5.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory gets eight touches in win over the Ravens.

Ivory had six carries for 17 yards and two receptions for 25 yards. He probably won't have many great fantasy weeks as long as Leonard Fournette is on the field.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory rushed six times for 17 yards in Sunday's loss.

He also caught three passes for 31 yards. Ivory is clearly behind Leonard Fournette in the Jacksonville backfield, and he would need a injury to have fantasy value. He can remain on your bench as a handcuff, but it's probably safe to drop him if you need a roster spot.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory gets ten touches in Week 1.

Ivory had nine carries for 42 yards and an 11-yard reception versus the Texans. It was a good day for Ivory, but Leonard Fournette received 29 touches and did well with them. The Jaguars do appear to be committed to running the ball a lot this season, so Ivory will get his touches too. But he won't be a reliable fantasy option as long as Fournette is the lead guy in the backfield.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory scores in Week 3 of the preseason.

Ivory had ten carries for 36 yards and a one-yard touchdown in the exhibition against Carolina. He also had a six-yard reception. Converting at the goal line is a big positive for Ivory, who's trying to at least be a goal line option for the Jaguars even with rookie Leonard Fournette in the backfield. Ivory is not getting drafted in fantasy leagues at this point, however, with most expecting Fournette to take most of the work for Jacksonville.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory can't get anything going on the ground in Week 2 of the preseason.

Ivory had an opportunity to do some damage with Leonard Fournette (foot) out of the game and T.J. Yeldon (hamstring) leaving the game, but there weren't many holes for him and he had seven carries for only four yards. He did also add two receptions for 14 yards, including a long of 17. With Fournette and Yeldon both likely questionable at best for next Thursday's preseason dress rehearsal, Ivory will look to show he can lead the backfield.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory starts first preseason game for Jacksonville.

Ivory had six carries for 20 yards, including a 15-yard run. He ran hard, and he probably doesn't want to be phased out by rookie Leonard Fournette. Ivory should be a contributor this season, even if and when Fournette becomes the lead dog.

Chris Ivory (hamstring) is inactive for Jacksonville.

It's kind of a surprise because Ivory did practice all week (although, on a limited basis). Ivory finished the season with 117 carries for 439 yards and three rushing touchdowns with 20 catches for 186 yards in 11 games. It'll be interesting to see who the new Jaguars coach is and how he will utilize Ivory and T.J. Yeldon.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory (hamstring) listed as questionable for the Jaguars.

After practicing all week on a limited basis, Ivory should be good to go for the Jags. He'll be a good RB2 with T.J. Yeldon out.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory records 114 total rushing and receiving yards before leaving with an injury.

Ivory had with 14 carries for 45 yards, one touchdown rushing. In the passing game, Ivory was targeted six times and had four catches and 69 yards. He also lost a fumble. Chris Ivory did not finish the game against the Titans, as he was injured on a 40-yard screen pass in the third quarter. Ivory worked as a workhorse after T.J. Yeldon was injured on the opening drive, until Ivory himself was injured.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory (hamstring) returns to lead team in rushing.

Ivory rushed 10 times for 44 yards, including a long of 17 yards. Not bad considering the Jaguars had just 150 yards of total offense. Jacksonville plays the Titans on Christmas Eve; Ivory will not be a good fantasy option.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory (hamstring) is inactive for the Jags.

It's Ivory's second straight misses game. T.J. Yeldon should handle most of the work against the Vikings.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory (hamstring) questionable to face Vikings.

With T.J. Yeldon off the injury report and presumably fully healthy, Ivory likely won't get a ton of touches if he's active against the Vikings. In a not so easy matchup, Ivory is just a decent FLEX option if he's active.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Broncos.

Meanwhile, T.J. Yeldon (ankle) should be good to play and could be a potentially good FLEX option against an overrated Broncos defense. Ivory will try to get healthy for next week against the Vikings.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory (hamstring) is not practicing Thursday.

It's two straight missed practices for Ivory after he left the game Sunday with a hamstring injury. He's probably less than 50/50 to play this Sunday against the Broncos.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory (hamstring) did not practice on Wednesday.

We'll update you on his practice status on Thursday and Friday. Even if he and T.J. Yeldon (ankle) are both out, Denard Robinson would not be a great option this Sunday.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory starts off strong; leaves game with hamstring injury.

Ivory rushed nine times for 44 yards and one touchdown before leaving the game. Fantasy owners who played Ivory should probably be okay with the performance in limited action against a tough defense, but obviously it would have been better if he played the whole game. Hamstring injuries have given running backs problems this season, and it could actually end Ivory's season. We will provide an update when we hear something.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Chris Ivory takes on workhorse role in Week 11.

Ivory had 17 carries for 39 yards and six catches for 75 yards. Ivory also lost a fumble. T.J. Yeldon left the game with an ankle injury, and Ivory took over most the running back work. If Yeldon misses any games, Ivory would become a solid RB2 and should handle 20+ touches per game.

Chris Ivory | Free Agent RB

Ivory sees a decrease in workload in Week 10.

After receiving 18 carries last week, Ivory saw only nine carries for 31 yards. He also had two catches for ten yards. Ivory is in a 50/50 split backfield with T.J. Yeldon. They both are good players, but because the Jaguars are not playing well, they are often playing from behind and have to abandon the run game. Like Yeldon, Ivory is just a FLEX option next week against Detroit.
