WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Colby Parkinson | Seahawks TE

Colby Parkinson (foot) has been designated to return from injured reserve.

If fully healthy, Parkinson might return as soon as this week with Gerald Everett on the reserve/COVID-19 list, so he could have an immediate role alongside Will Dissly. The second-year tight end can be a factor in scoring territory.

Colby Parkinson (foot) does not need surgery.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero says it's better news than last year and that Parkinson will not need surgery. Pelissero adds that Parkinson "could be back in weeks, not months", which is good to hear. The second-year tight end can still begin the year on the waiver wire in redraft leagues.

Colby Parkinson re-injured his foot.

Head coach Pete Carroll says that the second-year tight end will be out a while, which is unfortunate after it was said he’d have a definite role this season. Foot injuries can be very tricky, but hopefully Parkinson can get to 100%. Seattle is still in good shape at the position with Gerald Everett and Will Dissly.

The Seahawks have designated Colby Parkinson (foot) to return from injured reserve.

Parkinson was injured over the summer, so considering how tricky foot issues can be, it’s a great sign that he will have a chance to return. If he ends up active, the rookie won’t be a recommended option behind Greg Olsen and Will Dissly.

Colby Parkinson broke his foot and recently had surgery, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Parkinson suffered the injury on June 2 while running routes, and he's now rehabbing the injury. The fourth-round rookie is joining a very crowded tight end room in Seattle, so the missed time could be costly for him as he looks to earn a role in 2020. Veteran Greg Olsen is probably locked in as the Seahawks' starter with Will Dissly (patellar) primed to see the field if he's healthy. For dynasty owners, Parkinson has the profile to be a red zone threat at six-foot-seven.

The Seahawks have selected Stanford tight end Colby Parkinson with the No. 133 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Parkinson has very good size (six-foot-seven) and underrated athleticism, so he is a name to keep tabs on in dynasty leagues, especially considering the injury history of Will Dissly. In 2020, Parkinson will be clearly behind veterans Greg Olsen and Jordan Reed, so significant fantasy value as a rookie is unlikely.
