WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert has tested positive for COVID-19, according to NFL Network.

About a dozen players for the Eagles have tested positive, including other key players such as Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox. However, there is a decent chance Philly rests their starters this week after making the playoffs based on Sunday's results, so the timing really couldn't have worked out any better in terms of players getting the virus before the postseason (i.e. everyone that tested positive will now be clear through the Super Bowl once they return). If Goedert ends up not playing this week for one reason or another, Tyree Jackson can be a decent flier for anyone still playing in Week 18.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert will play in Week 11.

Fresh off a huge contract extension, Goedert is also ready to go for this Sunday against the Saints. You can insert Goedert into fantasy lineups as a TE1 option.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

The Eagles signed Dallas Goedert to a contract extension.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo says it's a four-year extension that pays Goedert top-three tight end money, so it's looking like around a $14-million-per-year deal. When the Eagles traded Zach Ertz earlier this season, they basically lost all leverage in contract negotiations with Goedert. The former second-round pick has played well throughout his career, but this deal is clearly projecting more production moving forward. That said, Goedert is averaging a career-high 14.8 yards per reception this season. Goedert is now under contract through 2025.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert (concussion) has been ruled out for the rest of today.

Goedert took a hit to the head and is in the NFL's concussion protocol. Before leaving, Goedert had two receptions for 28 yards and was set to again be a key part of the Eagles' passing attack in the Week 10 matchup at Denver.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

The Eagles have activated Dallas Geodert from the reserve/COVID-19 list.

This was expected after Goedert missed last Thursday night's game, and he will return to be the clear top option at tight end with Zach Ertz now in Arizona. Perhaps more of a run focus for the Eagles will lead to increased play-action opportunities, but either way, Goedert is a clear TE1.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

The Eagles placed Dallas Goedert on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Goedert is vaccinated, so he can return to the team after two negative tests in consecutive days. However, with the Eagles playing on Thursday night to kickoff Week 6, that appears unlikely to happen before his next game. Zach Ertz is set for a heavier workload at tight end against the Bucs in a couple of nights.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert (calf) ruled out for Week 17.

Goedert will have his third season end after 11 games played, and he finishes with 46 receptions, 524 yards, and three touchdowns (all of which were lower than his 2019 totals). With the future of Zach Ertz very cloudy with the Eagles, Goedert could be back on the TE1 map as the clear top option from opening week.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert (calf) is officially questionable to return for the Eagles.

It's unclear when Goedert was injured, but Zach Ertz will be the clear top target among Philadelphia tight ends until Goedert can return to the game.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

The Eagles officially activated Dallas Goedert (ankle) from injured reserve.

The expectation had been that Goedert might not return until after Philadelphia's bye next week, but the third-year tight end made a surprising push in practice this week and will play tomorrow night at Dallas. Goedert is immediately back in the TE1 mix with Zach Ertz out.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

The Eagles have designated Dallas Goedert (ankle) to return from IR.

Reports have suggested Goedert will be out until Week 10, but it will be interesting to see if the timeline is perhaps accelerated if he practices this week ahead of Philadelphia's primetime matchup against the Cowboys. That said, the Eagles have a bye in Week 9, so there is probably more of a chance that fantasy owners will be without Goedert for a couple of more weeks. He should be picked up in all formats if available.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

The Eagles placed Dallas Goedert (ankle) on injured reserve.

Goedert is dealing with a slight fracture in his ankle that isn't expected to cause him to miss a significant period of time, but he'll miss the next three games at minimum while on injured reserve. Goedert is not a must-hold in redraft leagues that don't have IR spots.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert is dealing with a fractured ankle.

Fortunately for the Eagles, it's a minor fracture and reportedly won't require surgery, but he will still obviously miss time. With DeSean Jackson (hamstring) also injured and Alshon Jeffery (foot) potentially a week away from his debut, Philadelphia will run the offense through Miles Sanders and Zach Ertz.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert (lower body) is "gonna miss some time," according to head coach Doug Pederson.

Pederson says they don't yet have a timetable, but it sounds like a multi-week injury for the young tight end. While the Eagles could get Alshon Jeffery (foot) back soon, this Goedert's absence will probably have the offense leaning more on Miles Sanders and Zach Ertz as they look to turn things around.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert (ankle) has been ruled out for the rest of today's game.

The FOX broadcast originally said that Goedert had returned in the second quarter, but he was never back in the game and is now done for the day. Goedert had one reception for seven yards before leaving against the Bengals.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert (ankle) has returned for the Eagles.

Goedert has missed most of the first half, but he's back in the game for Philadelphia with under seven minutes remaining in the half.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert (ankle) is officially questionable to return for the Eagles.

Goedert went to the locker room, but hopefully he's able to get back out there for Philadelphia. We'll update you as more information becomes available on Goedert's status.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert leads Eagles in Week 1 receiving.

Goedert caught eight passes for 101 yards and a touchdown in Philadelphia's Week 1 loss to Washington. The Eagles have indicated they are extremely high on Goedert, and the two-tight-end sets worked well for them to open the season. Goedert might be a volatile play this season (Zach Ertz will typically lead the tight end position but had just three receptions for 13 yards and a score in the opener), but you could do worse in your TE spot in fantasy lineups given Carson Wentz's comfort targeting the tight end position.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert suffered a hairline fracture in his thumb, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Pelissero says that it’s not major, and Goedert might be able to practice as soon as next week. Assuming his status for the opener isn’t in doubt, Goedert can still be drafted as a touchdown-dependent TE2.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert (calf) is officially off the Week 4 injury report.

Goedert is ready to play tomorrow night at Green Bay, which isn’t surprising after he was able to suit up last week. The second-year tight end has the potential for a breakout game, but he’s difficult to trust in fantasy lineups at the moment.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert (calf) participated fully in Tuesday's practice.

Philadelphia had a walkthrough instead of an actual practice, but this is a good sign nonetheless. Goedert will be a touchdown-dependent TE2 if he suits up against Green Bay.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert (calf) listed as a limited participant for Monday's practice.

The injury report is just an estimation with the Eagles playing on Thursday, but unless Goedert had a setback in Week 3, it would be a surprise if he didn't play against Green Bay. His status will be updated throughout the week.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert (calf) is officially active for Week 3.

While Alshon Jeffery (calf) and DeSean Jackson (abdomen) are inactive, Goedert will be out there for quarterback Carson Wentz and the Eagles today against the Lions. It's been a short sample size, but Detroit has been good at defending opposing tight ends this season. Still, Goedert is a decent TE2 option.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert (calf) is officially listed as questionable for Week 3.

Goedert was able to participate in today's practice on a limited basis, so there's a chance he can get out there against the Lions on Sunday. If active, Goedert figures to play a bigger role on offense with DeSean Jackson out and Alshon Jeffery (calf, questionable) looking iffy.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert (calf) did not practice today.

Alshon Jeffery (calf) and DeSean Jackson (abdomen) also didn't practice and aren't expected to play this week, as Philly's weapons really took a hit on Sunday night. Even if Goedert makes significant progress over the next couple of days, he may be difficult to trust after watching from the sideline against Atlanta.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert (calf) did not return for the Eagles.

Goedert did not record a catch before leaving early versus the Falcons. Goedert dealt with a calf injury during the summer, and he’ll probably be considered week-to-week with for now.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert (calf) is questionable to return for the Eagles.

It's unclear when Goedert was injured, but he'd be a big loss for the Eagles if he's unable to return. Goedert dealt with a calf injury throughout the summer, so this could be an aggravation. We'll update you as more information becomes available on the second-year tight end's status.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert scores in Eagles' Wild Card Round victory.

Goedert caught two passes for 20 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles' playoff win over the Bears. The first reception was a ten-yard score on an in-breaking route, and the second reception was a nice ten-yard run on a misdirection fake screen pass where the rookie tight end broke a tackle. Goedert will be a factor in next weekend's Divisional Round against New Orleans.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert catches three passes in Week 17.

Goedert gained 27 yards on his three receptions versus the Redskins. The rookie tight end's first NFL regular season ends with 33 receptions for 334 yards and four touchdowns. Goedert gets to play in the postseason immediately to start his NFL career, starting this Sunday against the Bears.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert catches three passes against the Texans.

Goedert gained 30 yards on his three Week 16 receptions. The rookie tight end remains a stronger real-life contributor than fantasy asset for now.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert catches two passes in Week 15.

Goedert gained 12 yards on his two receptions against the Rams. The rookie tight end is a better real-life contributor than fantasy asset in his first NFL season, so he's difficult to trust in lineups for fantasy finals.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert scores in loss to the Cowboys.

Goedert caught four passes for 44 yards, including a three-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. The rookie benefitted from extra attention on Zach Ertz, but his play unfortunately wasn't enough to take the lead in the NFC East. Goedert gets a great matchup against the Rams next week, so we'll see if he remains involved to keep Philly's playoff hopes alive. Consider him a low-end TE2 option.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert held without a catch in Week 13 win.

Goedert was targeted three times, but he and Carson Wentz couldn't connect, including on a screen pass that looked to have some room. The rookie won't be a strong fantasy play behind Zach Ertz next week in a huge matchup against Dallas.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert catches three passes in Week 12.

Goedert gained 33 yards on his three receptions against the Giants. The rookie tight end flashed his upside in the game, but his role isn't big enough to be a consistent fantasy option at the moment. Goedert remains more of a dynasty-league hold.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert scores in Week 8.

Goedert caught a 32-yard touchdown on a route he ran from the back side on a bootleg play late in the first half. It was the rookie tight end's lone target of the game, but it was a huge one in Philadelphia's win over Jacksonville. Goedert next faces the Cowboys in Week 10.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert scores in loss to the Panthers.

Goedert caught four passes for 43 yards and a touchdown, which came from one yard away in the third quarter to give Philly a 17-0 lead. After that, it was all Carolina with 21 unanswered points, but the looks were at least encouraging for the rookie tight end. Goedert is worth considering as a TE2 next week in London against the Jaguars.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert catches one pass in Eagles' win.

The rookie tight end's lone reception went for seven yards. Goedert will have some solid weeks and weeks where he might score a touchdown or two, but it's difficult to trust him in fantasy lineups in standard-sized leagues.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert catches both Week 5 targets.

The rookie tight end gained 16 yards on his two receptions against the Vikings. Goedert is not a reliable fantasy option quite yet.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert caught two passes for 13 yards in Sunday's loss to the Titans.

Goedert has been more involved over the past two weeks with Carson Wentz under center, but with Zach Ertz healthy, he's just a desperation option that probably needs a touchdown to be worth starting. We'll see how the rookie fares in a big matchup against the Vikings next Sunday.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert scores first career touchdown in Eagles' win.

After he wasn't involved in Week 2, Goedert was a solid part of the gameplan in Carson Wentz's return to the field, and he caught a touchdown on Wentz's first drive back in action since last year. The score was a 13-yarder in which he was wide-open in the end zone. Overall, Geodert caught seven passes (on seven targets) for 73 yards and a touchdown. The Eagles love throwing to tight ends, so Goedert will have some TE1 weeks even with Zach Ertz in the lineup.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert leaped on depth chart?

Goedert was held without a reception in the Eagles' 27-21 loss to the Bucs, as former undrafted free agent Joshua Perkins (4/57) operated as the clear No. 2 option behind Zach Ertz. The rookie didn't seem to play more than a handful of snaps, so he's probably been demoted to the No. 3, which basically drains the touchdown-dependent fantasy value he had. Goedert should only be owned in dynasty leagues at this point.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

Dallas Goedert catches one pass in first NFL game.

Goedert caught a pass in the flat for four yards, and he was also targeted on a deep ball in the end zone down the right sideline and caught it, but only one foot was inbounds. Goedert was targeted on a deep crossing route where he had the ball in his hands, but it was popped out on a hit and was intercepted by Deion Jones. Goedert faces the Buccaneers in Week 2.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

The Eagles have selected South Dakota State tight end Dallas Goedert with the No. 49 pick (second round) in the 2018 NFL Draft.

On the heels of Jason Witten's expected retirement, Philadelphia moved up three spots to jump ahead of Dallas and select Goedert before their division rivals could. The Eagles used multiple tight end sets a ton last season on their Super Bowl run, but tight end Trey Burton signed with the Bears in free agency and the team released veteran tight end Brent Celek. At South Dakota State, Goedert had a ton of production, going over 1,100 yards in each of his last two seasons. He's someone that can stretch the field and make spectacular catches, and he is a good compliment to Zach Ertz for the Eagles. Goedert might end up being a better real-life producer than fantasy producer as a rookie, and he's only a recommended option in dynasty leagues right now.
