WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Dan Arnold | Jaguars TE

Dan Arnold is out four-to-six weeks, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Arnold is dealing with a sprained MCL, so the timing of the injury could knock him out for the rest of the season. That said, it's probably good news that it's not a more long-term issue, and hopefully we see Arnold again before Jacksonville turns their attention to 2022. The team will rely on James O'Shaughnessy and others to step up in place of Arnold—who has caught 28 passes for 324 yards in seven games with the Jaguars since being traded from Carolina.

Dan Arnold | Jaguars TE

Dan Arnold (knee) is out for the rest of today.

Arnold had one reception for nine yards before leaving against the Falcons. It's probably not a great sign that Arnold is being ruled out for the day, but more information on his status should become available within the next couple of days.

Dan Arnold | Jaguars TE

Dan Arnold is being traded to the Jaguars, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The bigger news is Jacksonville sending former top-ten pick C.J. Henderson to the cornerback-needy Panthers (the Jags also get a third-round pick, and will send a fifth-round pick), but for fantasy purposes, Arnold is now headed elsewhere. Going from a 3-0 team to an 0-3 team, this is obviously a tough break for Arnold, though he should at least be more of a priority in Jacksonville as the team tries to get Trevor Lawrence and the offense on the right track. For a quick turnaround to face Cincinnati on Thursday night (his second TNF game in a row), Arnold probably can't be trusted in fantasy lineups.

Dan Arnold | Jaguars TE

The Panthers are signing Dan Arnold.

It’s a two-year deal according to Peter Schrager, and Arnold reunites with former Saints assistant Joe Brady in Carolina. Arnold can stretch the field at tight end and will look to win a large role in the Panthers offense this summer.

Dan Arnold | Jaguars TE

The Cardinals claimed Dan Arnold.

The Saints were almost certainly hoping to get Arnold onto the practice squad, but Arizona scooped him off waivers. Arnold is an intriguing player for Kliff Kingsbury as a long, athletic tight end, and he's someone to keep an eye on in dynasty leagues in particular.

Dan Arnold | Jaguars TE

The Saints waived Dan Arnold.

Arnold has played in just two games this season, and the Saints are expected to try and get him on the practice squad if he can clear waivers. Arnold is not a must-hold in dynasty leagues.

Dan Arnold | Jaguars TE

Dan Arnold did not catch a pass in the NFC Championship Game.

Arnold was targeted on a pass to the end zone on a third down in the first quarter, but he had it go off his hands. It certainly wasn't an easy catch, but it's one Arnold probably could've had. In overtime, the athletic tight end drew a pass interference call on a pass deep down the middle, but the Rams then forced an interception and won the game. Arnold has upside, and he'll be someone to keep an eye on leading up to next season. Sean Payton typically gives out flare signals if he believes one of his players is going to have a breakout season, so we'll see if that happens with Arnold throughout the summer.

Dan Arnold | Jaguars TE

Dan Arnold did not catch a pass in Week 15.

Arnold was targeted on a corner route on Drew Brees' interception against the Panthers, but he otherwise was not involved as a receiver. The second-year tight end is not yet a reliable fantasy option.

Dan Arnold | Jaguars TE

Dan Arnold is inactive for Week 14.

This is a surprise after Arnold emerged as the top receiving option at tight end for the Saints, as he wasn't listed on the injury report. This appears to be a move related to the serious rainy conditions in Tampa Bay, and it could indicate the Saints are poised to run the ball more than usual today. Benjamin Watson will likely be the top tight end for New Orleans today, but he's not a highly-recommended fantasy option for the first week of the fantasy playoffs.

Dan Arnold | Jaguars TE

Dan Arnold catches two passes in Week 13.

Arnold gained 20 yards on his two receptions in the Saints' loss to the Cowboys, including a 15-yard reception that was initially ruled incomplete but was then overturned and changed to a catch and fumble (recovered by New Orleans) on a questionable challenge from Saints head coach Sean Payton. Arnold is emerging as a seam-stretching weapon for Drew Brees, but he's not a highly-recommended fantasy option for the first round of fantasy playoffs next week.

Dan Arnold | Jaguars TE

Dan Arnold scores in win over the Falcons.

Arnold caught four passes for 45 yards and a touchdown, which was the first of his career on a lunging grab from 25 yards away. The 23-year-old is certainly a name to file away in dynasty leagues as a great athlete with prototypical size, but he is unlikely to become a big-time fantasy contributor down the stretch.

Dan Arnold | Jaguars TE

Dan Arnold catches two passes against the Eagles.

Arnold gained 25 yards on his two receptions, including a 23-yard reception, in the Saints' Week 11 win. Arnold isn't a recommended fantasy option right now.

Dan Arnold | Jaguars TE

Dan Arnold catches two passes against the Bengals.

Arnold gained 25 yards on his two receptions, including 23 yards on a deep corner route that put the Saints close to the goal line to punch it in. Arnold is an intriguing dynasty-league hold, but he's not a highly-recommended fantasy option right now.

Dan Arnold | Jaguars TE

Dan Arnold makes first NFL impact in win over the Ravens.

An undrafted free agent in 2017, Arnold caught two passes for 35 yards. The 23-year-old isn't a fantasy option right now, but anyone in Sean Payton's offense is at least worth monitoring.
