WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

David Blough | Free Agent QB

The Lions are waiving David Blough, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Detroit is going with veteran Chase Daniel as the backup to Matthew Stafford, but we'll see if they try to sneak the second-year quarterback onto the practice squad. Blough showed well in five starts as an undrafted rookie last year, including on Thanksgiving.

David Blough | Free Agent QB

David Blough will start for the Lions tomorrow.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that the undrafted rookie quarterback will start for Jeff Driskel, who is dealing with the hamstring injury suffered a few days ago. The former Purdue quarterback is more of a pocket passer than the very athletic Driskel, so he'll look to get the ball out to Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones, and company tomorrow in a tough matchup against the Bears. Expect the Lions to establish the run game to take pressure off Blough in his first career start.

David Blough | Free Agent QB

The Lions acquires David Blough, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Blough was just undrafted out of Purdue this year, so the Lions must’ve been hoping to get him after this year’s draft. The rookie will look to develop in Detroit, but he’s off the fantasy radar for now.

David Blough | Free Agent QB

Purdue quarterback David Blough is signing with the Browns as an undrafted free agent.

Blough is another experienced quarterback from this year’s draft class that played in all four years of his college career, with his best season coming in his last season, when he threw for 3,705 yards, 25 touchdowns, and ten interception—including 378 yards and three touchdowns in an upset victory over Ohio State. The Browns are a good spot for him to have a legit opportunity to work his way into a backup quarterback role behind Baker Mayfield.
