The Dolphins are acquiring DeAndre Washington from the Chiefs, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

This is an interesting addition for Miami with Jordan Howard already being an inactive behind Myles Gaskin, but the team may want to make it a three-way committee by having Washington rotate with Matt Breida and Gaskin. For redraft owners, Washington isn't a recommended pickup right now.

The Chiefs promoted DeAndre Washington to the active roster.

Washington was with the Chiefs throughout the summer before getting cut, but he's worked his way from the team's practice field and onto the 53-man roster. Washington isn't a recommended fantasy pickup at the moment, but he's still someone to watch in Kansas City's elite offense.

The Chiefs have released DeAndre Washington, according to ESPN's Field Yates.

Washington—who played with Patrick Mahomes at Texas Tech—was hoping to make the team and be the No. 2 back behind Clyde Edwards-Helaire, but Kansas City is going with incumbents Darrel Williams and Darwin Thompson. This news should lock in Darrel Williams as a high-upside handcuff and great flier in the final rounds of fantasy drafts.

Kansas City has been making a notable number of moves on offense in recent days, and their latest add is a player that's been in the division in former Raiders running back DeAndre Washington. The Texas Tech product will join former college teammate Patrick Mahomes and will look to win a role in the Chiefs backfield in 2020. Washington is an interesting player to keep an eye on this summer.

Washington rushed three times for eight yards and added a nine-yard reception on his only target. Oakland's No. 3 back didn't see much action with Doug Martin (11 carries for 51 yards and a touchdown) leading the running game, and he's not a recommended fantasy option right now.

DeAndre Washington | Free Agent RB

DeAndre Washington gets 12 carries against the Cardinals.

Washington gained 39 yards on his 12 attempts in the Raiders’ Week 11 win. This was Washington’s most extensive action yet, and he actually led the backfield in carries over Jalen Richard (11 carries) and Doug Martin (ten carries) as Jon Gruden decided to give him a crack at a nice workload. Washington isn’t a recommended fantasy pickup yet.

DeAndre Washington | Free Agent RB

DeAndre Washington is inactive for Week 3.

Washington is no longer listed on the injury report, so he's just a healthy scratch. Jalen Richard has seized the primary-receiving-back role for the Raiders, and there's a chance Washington isn't active this season if Marshawn Lynch, Doug Martin, and Richard stay healthy.

DeAndre Washington | Free Agent RB

DeAndre Washington (knee) was limited in practice.

Washington was also limited yesterday. It's worth noting he did post a picture on social media that seemed to hint he'd be back this week, but he might not be active if Oakland doesn't want to use four running backs. We'll update you on Washington's official injury status for the game tomorrow.

DeAndre Washington | Free Agent RB

DeAndre Washington (knee) was limited in practice today.

This is a good sign, as Washington is making progress in his return from a knee injury. However, Jalen Richard has seized a very solid third-down role in Washington's absence, so he's off the fantasy radar for now.

DeAndre Washington | Free Agent RB

DeAndre Washington (knee) has been ruled out for Week 1.

Washington had been expected to miss this first game on Monday night, and he's probably questionable at best for Week 2. Jalen Richard could handle most of the third-down work for the Raiders against the Rams.

DeAndre Washington | Free Agent RB

DeAndre Washington underwent arthroscopic knee surgery.

Washington will not play on Friday against the Packers, and the beginning of the season could be in jeopardy. It's worth noting that Jon Gruden said that he is high on the third-year back. This could be an opening for impressive undrafted free agent Chris Warren III to make the team. Jalen Richard, who has played well this season, gets a boost with Washington out; Richard could be the team's primary third-down option to open the year.

Washington had two carries for three yards and two receptions for zero yards against the Chargers. While he did score three touchdowns, Washington—and Oakland as a whole—was not close to where they were last season. Entering his third season, we'll see if Washington has a bigger role next year.

With Marshawn Lynch back from his suspension, Washington and teammate Jalen Richard took a back seat in the backfield. Washingont carried four times for 16 yards and caught one pass for -2 yards in the game. He does appear to be ahead of Richard right now, as he entered the game more early—but Washington doesn’t need to be on fantasy rosters right now.

In relief of the suspended Marshawn Lynch, Washington and Jalen Richard handled most of the touches out of the backfield. Washington carried six times for 26 yards (which both led the team) and added eight receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown, with the score coming late in the game with Oakland down big. The second-year back did also lose a fumble in the game, and he fullback Jamize Olawale scored a short touchdown by the goal line. With Lynch set to return in Week 9, it'll probably be a committee approach in the backfield.

DeAndre Washington | Free Agent RB

DeAndre Washington scores in Week 7.

Washington carried nine times for 33 yards and a touchdown while adding three receptions for seven yards, working in a 50/50 backfield timeshare with Jalen Richard (Marshawn Lynch was ejected for shoving an official in the second quarter). Keep an eye on the situation with Lynch, as it wouldn't be surprising to see him outright released by Oakland, given the headache he's causing. Either way, Washington and Richard should be getting more touches moving forward.

DeAndre Washington | Free Agent RB

DeAndre Washington gets four touches against the Chargers.

The second-year back had three carries for -8 yards and one reception for ten yards in the Week 6 loss. As long as Marshawn Lynch remains on the field, Washington isn't a reliable fantasy option.

Washington had six carries for 20 yards and three receptions (on three targets) for 15 yards versus the Jets. He's in the mix with Marshawn Lynch and Jalen Richard in Oakland's backfield, but he can't be trusted in fantasy lineups right now.

DeAndre Washington | Free Agent RB

DeAndre Washington gets five touches in Raiders' Week 1 win.

The second-year back had three carries for four yards and two receptions for 18 yards. Jalen Richard looks like the primary backup runner behind Marshawn Lynch, but Washington certainly has a role. Neither Richard nor Washington will be a great fantasy option as long as Lynch remains on the field.

DeAndre Washington | Free Agent RB

DeAndre Washington carries five times for 16 yards in preseason opener.

The second-year Raiders back broke off a solid nine-yard run, showing his quickness and acceleration. Washington and fellow second-year back Jalen Richard should both mix in with Marshawn Lynch this season.

DeAndre Washington rushed four times for 16 yards in the Wild Card Round against Houston.

Washington had a nice 14-yard run, but that was about it. He'll return as a valuable part of the Raiders' offense next season as a change of pace behind Latavius Murray.

DeAndre Washington | Free Agent RB

DeAndre Washington rushed seven times for 43 yards in Sunday's loss to the Broncos.

Washington also caught two passes for 14 yards. The rookie led the team in carries and yards, which is a shock after Latavius Murray dominated the Broncos in their last meeting. Washington finishes his first regular season with 87 carries for 467 yards (5.4 YPC) and two touchdowns. Oakland travels to Houston in the first round of the playoffs next weekend.

DeAndre Washington | Free Agent RB

DeAndre Washington explodes for two touchdowns.

Washington had 12 carries for 99 yards and two touchdowns, and also had an 18-yard reception against the Colts. Competing for touches behind Latavius Murray, Washington is a risky fantasy option despite the great game.

DeAndre Washington | Free Agent RB

Washington had one carry for zero yards. He was also targeted once, but didn't have any catches. Washington is a contributor for the Raiders, but not in fantasy.
