Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

Deebo Sameul (groin) is officially active for the 49ers.

Samuel was said to have a good week of practice, and he’s back after missing just one game with his groin injury. You can immediately put Samuel back into fantasy lineups as an excellent option for Week 14.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

Deebo Samuel (groin) is officially questionable for Week 14.

There's optimism about Samuel being able to play this week against the Bengals, but the Niners are going to see how he's feeling through the weekend and one gameday. This looks like a game-time call on Sunday, but perhaps we'll get word on the direction he's trending late tomorrow.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

Deebo Samuel (groin) officially ruled out for Week 13.

This was expected with Samuel considered week-to-week, and hopefully he can be back in either Week 14 or Week 15. San Francisco will rely on Brandon Aiyuk to step up as their No. 1 wide receiver against Seattle, and he should be started as a high-upside WR2 option.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

Deebo Samuel (groin) is expected to miss one to two weeks.

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan says it's a strain for Samuel. Overall, this is good news, but Samuel will almost certainly be out for Week 13 and will be in jeopardy for Week 14. Consider the electric offensive weapon week-to-week for now.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

Deebo Samuel (groin) is officially questionable to return for the 49ers.

Samuel was down on the field for a while and then limped over to the sideline. He now has his helmet off and does not look like he'll be returning to today's game. Before leaving the Week 12 game versus the Vikings, Samuel had one reception for 12 yards and six carries for 66 yards and two touchdowns. Samuel became the first wide receiver in the Super Bowl era to rush for five touchdowns in a season, as he's been a huge weapon there for San Francisco this year.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

Deebo Samuel (calf) is officially active for Week 9.

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan says that Samuel is worse off than he was last week, but the versatile receiver was not going to miss this game against the Cardinals.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

Deebo Samuel (hamstring) will be out "a while".

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan didn't give an exact timeline, but it seems that Samuel's season might be over. Consider him week-to-week for now with three weeks remaining in the regular season.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

Deebo Samuel (hamstring) has been ruled out for the rest of today.

Samuel was out for most of the first half, so this is not a surprise. Before leaving, Samuel had one carry for nine yards. He might be facing a lengthy absence after already missing time due to a hamstring issue earlier this year.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

Deebo Samuel (hamstring) is officially questionable to return for the 49ers.

Samuel limped off the field and flipped off his helmet, as he was clearly not happy after pulling up on a run, so this doesn't look great. We'll track Deebo's status, but he looks unlikely to return to today's game based on first glance.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

Deebo Samuel (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday.

[UPDATE/CLARIFICATION: The Niners say Samuel is good to go for Sunday and has no injury designation.] Samuel was expected to be good coming off the bye, but the Niners did not practice enough for the team to feel good about taking him off the injury report. San Francisco kicks off in the late-afternoon window on Sunday, so be sure to have a backup plan from the later games if you want to use Deebo in your Week 12 fantasy lineup.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

Deebo Samuel (hamstring) is officially out for Week 10.

This is Deebo's third consecutive missed game with a hamstring injury, but he's expected to be OK for the Niners' next game after their Week 11 bye.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

Deebo Samuel (hamstring) will not play in Week 8.

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan says Samuel will be out this week and will also likely miss Week 9 against the Packers, too, so consider the second-year receiver week-to-week. Keep in mind that the Niners have a Week 11 bye week, so perhaps Samuel will be held out through then if he's not close to 100% for Week 10.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

Deebo Samuel (hamstring) has been ruled out for the rest of today.

The Niners are up big in the fourth quarter, so maybe they're just holding Samuel out as a precaution. Before leaving, Deebo had five catches for 65 yards and three carries for seven yards.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

Deebo Samuel (illness) is officially active for the 49ers.

Samuel passed all the necessary protocols despite a non-COVID illness, and he’s active against the Niners after missing the last two days of practice this week with the illness. After missing practice time, Deebo is more of a risky FLEX option; but the second-year receiver could get more work as San Francisco continues to work him in for his second game this season.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

Deebo Samuel (illness) is officially listed as questionable for Week 5.

Samuel missed Thursday and Friday’s practices while battling his illness, so his status for Sunday is one some question. We would think Deebo will be OK to play on gameday, but the Niners don’t kickoff until the late-afternoon slate of games, which could complicate things for fantasy owners. Kyle Shanahan says that the second-year receiver feels "great", so hopefully he's good to go this weekend.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

Deebo Samuel (illness) did not practice today.

This is not thought to be a major issue, so hopefully Deebo can avoid the final Week 5 injury report ahead of the weekend.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

Deebo Samuel (foot) is set to make his season debut in Week 4.

Samuel was thought to be a week away, but he will apparently suit up for San Francisco on Sunday night along with George Kittle (knee). He won't immediately be a must-start because his role could be limited in Week 4, but this is excellent news for Deebo's health, and he could quickly become a weekly, high-upside WR2 option.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

The 49ers activated the practice window for Deebo Samuel (foot).

Samuel now has a 21-day practice window before he has to be activated off injured reserve, but the second-year receiver is fully expected to be cleared for Week 5 (though perhaps he'll push to play this Sunday night). Deebo is definitely worth a pickup if he's available in your league.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

The 49ers have placed Deebo Samuel (foot) on injured reserve, according to ESPN's Field Yates.

Deebo will now miss at least the first three games of the season, so this more unfortunate news for fantasy owners that bet on injured players (Miles Sanders being the other after he was ruled out for Week 1). Ideally, the promising second-year wideout will get the next three weeks to heal up and be 100% the rest of the way, but Brandon Aiyuk (hamstring), Kendrick Bourne, and Trent Taylor will be among the guys stepping up in the mean time.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

Deebo Samuel (foot) is officially out for Week 1.

Deebo has been on a mission to not miss any games after breaking his foot earlier this year, but the team has maintained a cautious approach with the physical second-year receiver. Hopefully Samuel can get on the practice field early next week ahead of Week 2.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

Deebo Samuel (foot) officially did not practice today.

Samuel would probably do well to be listed as questionable on the final Week 1 injury report when it's released tomorrow, but he's a very physical player that can probably suit up on Sunday with little practice time during the week. Ideally, Samuel will be at least limited in tomorrow's practice.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

The 49ers are activating Deebo Samuel (foot) from the NFI list.

Samuel needed to be activated in order to suit up for Week 1, so this is a great sign that—at worst—he will be questionable for the opener and could return early in the year. Currently going in the mid 40s at wide receiver, Samuel brings plenty of upside and should be considered as early as the seventh or eighth round in drafts this weekend.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

Deebo Samuel (foot) is expected to practice next week.

Ultimately, the 49ers are probably going to be smart, but this would likely put Samuel on track to play in Week 1. The dynamic second-year receiver has said since his broken foot that he will be back for the season opener, and he appears to have healed up well. A risk of re-injury is obviously a possibility for a fracture like Samuel suffered, but there's definite value potential in the middle parts of fantasy drafts.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

The 49ers placed Deebo Samuel on the non-football injury list.

This was fully expected, and the non-football injury list basically just means Samuel was injured not during an official NFL practice or game after he broke his foot working out alone earlier this year. Samuel himself is unsurprisingly optimistic that he'll be ready for Week 1, but the team is taking a cautious approach with their dynamic second-year receiver. Hopefully there's clarity on Samuel's early-season status by the time most fantasy drafts occur.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

Deebo Samuel broke his foot, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

More specifically, Rapoport says it's a Jones fracture for Samuel, an injury that's seemingly been somewhat common with wide receivers over the years. The promising second-year receiver is having foot surgery today and is reportedly expected to miss 12-16 weeks, which puts him on a timeline to potentially be ready as early as Week 1 and as late as early October. Of course, the hard-nosed Samuel will want to get on the field as soon as possible, but ideally the team and player will ensure he's 100% healthy to avoid a re-fracture after he returns. Samuel's recovery will be something to watch all summer.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

Deebo Samuel (shoulder) is officially active against the Packers.

Samuel was listed as questionable for tonight's Week 12 matchup, but he's ready to go for the 49ers. Coming off two consecutive games with eight receptions and over 100 yards, Samuel is an intriguing FLEX option. However, the rookie receiver's role might change with George Kittle back in the lineup.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

Deebo Samuel (shoulder) is officially listed as questionable for Week 12.

Deebo is expected to be ready for Sunday night against the Packers, but it’s no lock. If you’re planning to use the rookie receiver in your lineup, just be sure to have backup plan from one of the two primetime games in mind.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

Deebo Samuel (shoulder) was officially limited in today's practice.

Samuel missed yesterday's practice, but it's a good sign that he was able to get back on the practice field today. The rookie receiver should be good to go for Sunday night against the Packers, but check back in tomorrow for his official status on the final Week 12 injury report.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

Deebo Samuel (shoulder) is officially not practicing today.

It's only Wednesday, but there is some concern regarding Samuel's status for Sunday night against the Packers. The rookie receiver has two consecutive games of eight receptions and 110+ yards, so it would  be a huge loss if he's not ready to go. We'll monitor Samuel's practice status over the next couple of days leaning up to the final Week 12 injury report getting release on Friday.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

Deebo Samuel (groin) has been ruled out for Week 7.

Samuel did not practice at all this week, so this is not a surprise. Hopefully we see the rookie receiver back on the field soon, but he should be considered week-to-week until he at least hits the practice field. This could open up the opportunity for more targets to Dante Pettis, but none of the Niners receivers are highly recommended fantasy options at the moment.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

Deebo Samuel (groin) officially did not practice today.

Samuel is looking iffy for this Sunday against the Redskins, but hopefully he's able to hit the practice field tomorrow and/or Friday. The 49ers probably won't rush the second-round rookie receiver back in a game they should be able to handle.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

Deebo Samuel catches first career touchdown in 49ers' win.

Samuel got open on a corner route at the goal line, and he led the team with five receptions for 87 yards and a touchdown. The second-round rookie also received a good amount of playing time in Week 1, and while this was just one big game, it looks like the physical South Carolina product has already emerged as Jimmy Garoppolo's top wide receiver. Samuel is worth a look as a waiver-wire pickup for leagues he's available in.

Deebo Samuel | 49ers WR

The Niners have selected South Carolina wide receiver Deebo Samuel with the No. 36 pick (second round) in the 2019 NFL Draft.

The second round was thought to be a sweet spot for Deebo, and that’s exactly where he goes with the Niners drafting him. Fans should enjoy Samuel’s game as a crisp route runner with great toughness and big hands for his size at five-foot-11. We think San Francisco is an especially good landing spot because Samuel probably fits best as a complimentary piece in an NFL passing attack that also includes George Kittle, but that doesn’t mean he won’t be able to put up big-time numbers for fantasy owners. For now, Samuel is best viewed as a mid-to-late round pick that could finish with solid numbers in the range of 800 yards and five scores as a rookie.
