The Jets are signing Deonte Thompson.
Thompson spent last season with the Cowboys and Bills, and he can be a strong contributor on special teams. Fantasy wise, Thompson will need to work his way up the depth chart at receiver before he should be considered in deeper leagues.
Deonte Thompson (toe) did not return against the Patriots.
Thompson's game ended with one reception for 11 yards. After getting carted to the locker room, Thompson looks on the doubtful side of things for the season finale next week against Miami.
Deonte Thompson (toe) is questionable to return to today's game.
Thompson was carted to the locker room, which probably isn't a good sign, but we'll update you as more information becomes available.

Thompson was targeted twice, but didn't bring in either look. The veteran will continue operating as Buffalo's No. 4 wideout to close out the season.
Deonte Thompson catches one pass against the Jets.
Thompson gained 14 yards on his lone reception in the Bills' Week 14 loss. Thompson is a better real-life contributor than fantasy asset at the moment.

Deonte Thompson held without a catch in Week 13 win.
He was targeted three times, but Thompson couldn't make a grab in his first action with the Bills in 2018. The veteran won't be a recommended fantasy option next week against the Dolphins.
Deonte Thompson has signed with the Bills.
Thompson was recently waived by Dallas, but he returns to Buffalo after positing a 27/430/1 with the team in 2017. The Bills have a wide open depth chart, so the veteran has a chance to make an immediate impact. Still, he is unlikely to become a significant fantasy factor.
Deonte Thompson caught two passes for 21 yards in Monday night's loss to the Titans.
Thompson was able to haul in both of his targets, but he operated as the team's No. 5 receiver with Amari Cooper now in Dallas. The veteran isn't on the fantasy radar heading into Week 10.
Deonte Thompson catches one pass against Jacksonville.
Thompson's lone Week 6 reception went for one yard. He's more of a real-life contributor than fantasy asset for now.
Deonte Thompson caught two passes for 19 yards in Sunday night's loss to the Texans.
Thompson isn't a recommended fantasy option with 11 receptions for 102 yards through five games. He gets the Jaguars in Week 6.
Deonte Thompson catches both targets against the Seahawks.
Thompson gained 23 yards on his two receptions for the Cowboys in their Week 3 loss. Thompson is also the primary kick returner, but he's not a fantasy option outside of leagues that give bonuses for return yardage.
Deonte Thompson caught four passes for 33 yards in Sunday's win over the Giants.
Thompson looks like he might be the leader of Dallas' wide-receiver-by-committee to start the year, but the journeyman wideout isn't a recommended pickup for a run-first, defensive football team.
Deonte Thompson caught three passes for 27 yards in Sunday's loss to the Panthers.
Thompson was the team's leading receiver behind Cole Beasley (seven receptions for 73 yards), which speaks to the lack of weapons for Dallas. The veteran isn't a recommended fantasy option.
The Cowboys have signed wide receiver Deonte Thompson.
It's a one-year deal for Thompson. Thompson played well for a Bills playoff team last season, catching 27 passes for 430 yards and one touchdown in 11 games with the team after catching 11 passes for 125 yards and one touchdown in five games with the Bears. This signing probably means Dallas won't be bringing back free agent receiver Brice Butler, though Butler has said he wants to go somewhere he'll be a starter anyway. Thompson might push Terrance Williams for snaps on the outside opposite Dez Bryant this season, but he's not a recommended 2018 fantasy selection at the moment.
Deonte Thompson catches two passes in playoff loss.
Thompson gained 23 yards on his two receptions while also adding a nine-yard carry on an end-around. In the fourth quarter, Thompson was called for holding, which brought back a long reception by LeSean McCoy. Thompson was also open on a deep corner route late in the game, but he was slightly overthrown by Tyrod Taylor. The Bills will likely want to bring Thompson back in 2018, but he probably won't be an option in fantasy drafts.
Deonte Thompson caught two passes for 23 yards in Sunday's win over the Dolphins.
Thompson finishes a regular season split between the Bills and Bears with a combined 38 receptions for 555 yards and two touchdowns. He will look to make an impact in the Bills' first playoff appearance since 1999 beginning next Sunday against the Jaguars.
Deonte Thompson leads team in receiving as Bills fall to Patriots.
Thompson caught four passes for 91 yards, including a 46-yarder on a nice route against Malcolm Butler to get deep. Unfortunately, Buffalo couldn't keep up with New England in the second half, and they lost 37-16 to put a dent in their playoff chances. A win next week gives them a decent chance, though, and Thompson should be a top target for Tyrod Taylor again. Still, he's not much more than a weak FLEX against Miami.
Deonte Thompson gets four targets in Week 15.
Thompson caught one pass for 16 yards against the Dolphins. He contributes on offense, but Thompson's role isn't big enough to be a viable fantasy option.
Deonte Thompson catches long pass in Week 14.
Thompson was targeted one time in the game, catching a clutch 34-yard deep ball in overtime to get the Bills in Colts territory. It took a lot of focus to catch the ball amid snowy conditions, but it was a big play for his team to help them get to 7-6. Despite making plays for the Bills, Thompson isn't a reliable fantasy option.
Deonte Thompson caught two passes for 21 yards in Sunday's loss to New England.
Thompson actually fared well with no receiver going over 22 yards on Sunday, but he's been quiet over the past month after a strong start to his career with Buffalo. Fantasy owners shouldn't rely on Thompson in Week 14 against Indianapolis.
Deonte Thompson catches one pass in Week 12.
Thompson gained six yards on his lone reception versus the Chiefs. He should have some good games over the last few weeks of the season, but it's difficult to trust Thompson in fantasy lineups.
Deonte Thompson gets eight targets in Week 11.
Thompson's eight targets were a team high, and he caught three passes for 36 yards in the loss. He did leave with an injury in the game, but it's unclear what it was or its severity. We'll learn more throughout this upcoming week.
Deonte Thompson catches one pass in Week 10.
Thompson was targeted four times in the game and gained ten yards on his lone reception. He also had one carry in the game, but it was for -5 yards. Thompson has been alternating quiet games with good games over the last four, so we'll see if he can bounce back with a big performance against the Chargers next week. He's not a recommended fantasy option, though.
Deonte Thompson scores in Week 9.
Thompson was targeted a team-high ten times against the Jets, catching seven passes for 81 yards and a touchdown, with the score coming on a 26-yard go route late in the game. Though the Bills were passing a ton at the end of the game while down big, it's still good to see Thompson make plays like he has been recently. With Kelvin Benjamin set to make his team debut next week, however, Thompson won't be a recommended fantasy option.
Deonte Thompson goes over 100 yards in Bills debut.
Thompson caught four passes for 107 yards, as he stepped up for Tyrod Taylor and the Buffalo offense in a 30-27 victory. New England apparently also wanted to sign Thompson when the Bears released him last week, but their AFC East foe was able to get him. He is someone that people struggling at receiver should target on the waiver wire, especially with a matchup against the Raiders in Week 8.
The Bears released WR Deonte Thompson.
Thompson had been working as Chicago's kick returner, so this is a slight surprise. Undrafted rookie Tanner Gentry is getting called up from the practice squad to the active roster as a corresponding move. The 28-year-old Thompson will certainly get other opportunities in the league.
Deonte Thompson gets team-high nine targets in Week 4.
Thompson caught five passes for 44 yards in a Thursday night loss to the Packers. He was Mike Glennon's main target in the game, and it's possible he gets a lot of targets moving forward. Still, Thompson isn't a reliable fantasy option yet.
Deonte Thompson scores Bears' only touchdown in Week 2.
Thompson, who again returned kicks for the Bears, caught four of five targets for 57 yards and a touchdown. The TD came in the fourth quarter and avoided the Bears getting shut out. Thompson gets the Steelers next week and isn't a recommended fantasy option in a difficult matchup.
Deonte Thompson gets two targets in Week 1.
Thompson caught one pass for 15 yards against the Falcons. He did also fumble, but it was recovered. Thompson, who returned two kicks for the Bears and appears to be their primary kick returner, will probably help the Bears in real life more than he'll help your fantasy team.
Deonte Thompson returned a field goal for a 109-yard TD in last night's preseason game against Arizona.
The 28-year-old receiver took a missed 63-yard field goal to the house as time expired in the first half. Thompson juked a few guys as he sped the entire length of the field for the score. On offense, he didn't have any catches, but the great play on special teams should help his case for a roster spot.
Deonte Thompson leads Bears in receiving in Week 1 of the preseason.
Thompson had five catches for 64 yards, including a long of 24 yards. It's a good preseason game for Thompson, who is looking to make the Bears' final roster in a deep receiving group.
Deonte Thompson follows up big Week 15 with a touchdown in Week 16.
Thompson had three catches for 34 yards and a touchdown against Washington. In a tough matchup for Week 17, Thompson is a risky FLEX option, but it's good to see the 2012 undrafted free agent finish the season on a strong note.
Deonte Thompson leads Bears in receiving on Sunday.
Thompson caught eight passes for 110 yards in a 30-27 loss to Green Bay. He could benefit if Josh Norman follows Alshon Jeffery next week, but Thompson remains nothing more than a weak FLEX play for Week 16.
Deonte Thompson caught five passes for 44 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's loss to the Titans.
Thompson showed a good connection with quarterback Matt Barkley, and benefitted from the Bears throwing it 54 times. He remains off the fantasy radar for Week 13 versus the Niners.
