WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Elijah Moore | Jets WR

Elijah Moore has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

This isn't a big deal from a fantasy perspective with Moore currently on injured reserve, but in general, the Jets placed 14 players on the list—including wideouts Jeff Smith and Vyncint Smith. Hopefully current starts Jamison Crowder, Denzel Mims, and Keelan Cole Sr. are able to stay healthy for Zach Wilson ahead of a matchup against the Jaguars.

The Jets are placing Elijah Moore (quad) on injured reserve, according to The Athletic's Connor Hughes.

Moore was questionable for this week, so it's a definite surprise to hear he'll now miss three games. It's definitely unfortunate, as Moore had a great opportunity to step up as the clear No. 1 wideout the rest of the way with Corey Davis (core) done for the season, and that will now be put on hold for at least three games. New York will now rely on Jamison Crowder as the top target for Zach Wilson, and Denzel Mims (along with Keelan Cole) should get plenty of opportunities to shine.

Elijah Moore (quad) is questionable for Week 14.

Moore is shaping up as a game-time decision, but if he ends up playing, the rookie should probably be downgraded a bit at less than 100%. The Jets are already without Corey Davis (core) for the rest of the season, so Zach Wilson could be down to Jamison Crowder, Denzel Mims, and Keelan Cole this week if Moore is inactive.

Elijah Moore (quad) will not practice this week.

The hope is that Moore will practice next week, but it's time to be a little concerned about the injury issue. The second-round rookie receiver has reportedly been lightning it up during training camp, and it'd be nice to see him on the field for the Jets' third and final preseason game next week. Keep in mind that Jets head coach Robert Saleh says he is not concerned about Moore's Week 1 status, so that's good to hear.

Elijah Moore | Jets WR

The Jets have selected Ole Miss wide receiver Elijah Moore with the No. 34 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Moore was basically uncoverable in his final season at Ole Miss—catching 86 passes for 1,193 yards and eight touchdowns in just eight games, including at least ten grabs in all but one appearance and a scorching hot stretch over his final few games. As a dynamic, five-foot-nine weapon, Moore is a great fit alongside Denzel Mims and Corey Davis in New York, as he could thrive as the “Robin” while possessing “Batman” ability if he ever needs to put on the cowl; he can also bring some added explosiveness to the return game for the Jets. Moore’s full scouting report can be viewed in the link below. Moore might have to sit behind Jamison Crowder Year 1, but he certainly has the skillset to be a starter as a rookie if called upon.
