WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Gavin Escobar | Free Agent TE

The Dolphins are releasing Gavin Escobar, according to Ian Rapoport.

Miami needed a roster spot to sign center Travis Swanson, so Escobar is being released. The former second-round pick will look to resurface elsewhere, but he's unlikely to become a fantasy option. He was just depth with the Dolphins.

The Dolphins signed Gavin Escobar.

Escobar was released by Miami last week, but he's back as a corresponding move after the team placed tight end MarQueis Gray on injured reserve. Escobar is a good veteran presence, but he's not on the fantasy radar right now.

The Dolphins are releasing tight end Gavin Escobar.

The 27-year-old was trying to make the roster as tight end depth, but he will now be a free agent. While Escobar hasn't caught a pass since 2016 with the Cowboys, he should get another opportunity this season. Second-round pick Mike Gesicki is locked-in as Miami's starting tight end.

The Dolphins signed tight end Gavin Escobar.

Escobar was with the Ravens for a couple games last year after spending the first four years of his career in Dallas. The former second-round pick might be in the best spot for him as he looks to get playing time, as Miami has one of the more wide-open tight end groups in the NFL. However, he's not on the fantasy radar quite yet.

The Ravens signed tight end Gavin Escobar.

Escobar is a former second-round pick of the Cowboys and was last with the Chiefs. He's a big target that'll fill in behind Benjamin Watson and Nick Boyle, as it appears the team might be unhappy with Maxx Williams.

The Chiefs signed former Cowboys tight end Gavin Escobar.

Escobar was a second-round pick of the Cowboys in 2013, and he was expected to take over for Jason Witten eventually. Witten has not slowed down too much since then, and Escobar is off to a new team. The Chiefs sometimes use multiple tight end sets, but Escobar probably won't make any fantasy impact unless Travis Kelce misses time.
