WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

The Chargers are signing Gerald Everett.

After a stint with the Seahawks, Everett is headed back to Los Angeles, this time with the Chargers. The athletic tight end will be an intriguing fit in the Chargers offense, and he’ll look to become a reliable and versatile target for Justin Herbert this season.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett has officially been taken off the reserve/COVID-19 list.

The Seahawks wanted Everett to be cleared by last night's game against the Rams, but the protocols and testing unfortunately did not allow for that. The athletic tight end is back after missing the past two games while on the COVID list.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett is out for Week 5.

Everett wasn’t able to get cleared from the COVID-19 list, so he’ll miss his second game in a row. Will Dissly is a decent flier with the Rams focused on D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Whether or not he is vaccinated, Everett is now unlikely to suit up in Week 4 based on how the process has played out for other players, so look for Will Dissly to step into an expanded role. Seattle could also get Colby Parkinson (foot) back ahead of a big NFC West clash with the 49ers.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

The Seahawks are signing Gerald Everett.

Everett will jump from the Rams to a division rival, and he’s another potential answer at tight end for a Seattle team that has been aggressive at the position in recent years. Will Dissly and Colby Parkinson are both bigger targets, but Everett is an excellent on-the-ground complement with impressive athleticism. That said, TE1 production could be difficult to come by if the Seahawks go back to more of a ground-and-pound offense in 2021.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett will play on Saturday night.

Everett missed the previous three games with a knee issue, but he's off the injury report and is good to go for a Week 16 matchup against the 49ers. Tyler Higbee has been on-fire lately, with 100+ yards in three consecutive games, so it's difficult to trust Everett in fantasy lineups with titles on the line.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett (knee) has been ruled out for Week 14.

Everett did not practice all week, so this is not a surprise. The athletic tight end should be considered week-to-week with his knee injury.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett (knee) has been ruled out for Week 13.

Everett was banged up last Monday night against the Ravens, and he's not ready to go for this Sunday versus the Cardinals. Facing the No. 32 team in points allowed to opposing tight ends, Tyler Higbee is an interesting streaming option for Week 13.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett targeted once in Super Bowl LIII loss.

It was an incompletion in the fourth quarter on a short pass along the sideline. Everett probably should have been more involved as a potential mismatch option against New England's linebackers, and Los Angeles ended up being held to just a single field goal in the 13-3 defeat. The 2017 second-round pick will look to make a Year 3 leap next season, but he is unlikely to be a fantasy difference-maker on an offense that includes Brandin Cooks, Robert Woods, and Cooper Kupp.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett caught two passes for 50 yards in win over the Saints.

Everett had a clutch 39-yard reception on a third down in the fourth quarter for his biggest play of the game, and he was on the field with Tyler Higbee more often than usual as Sean McVay went away from the 11 personnel at times. We should see a shootout in a couple weeks against either New England or Kansas City.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett held without a catch in playoff victory.

Everett was targeted twice. The 2017 second-round pick would probably benefit from more of a back-and-forth game, which is certainly possible next Sunday against either the Saints or Eagles with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett did not catch a pass in Week 17.

The second-year tight end's regular season closes with 33 receptions for 320 yards and three touchdowns, with his highlight coming on a 40-yard game-winning touchdown in the epic Monday night win over the Chiefs, a game in which he scored twice. Everett could be a major difference-maker in the postseason for the Rams.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett caught five passes for 28 yards in Sunday's win over Arizona.

He also rushed twice for 16 yards with Los Angeles doing a handful of end-arounds to get the offense going. Everett will again be ranked as a borderline top-15 option for the season finale against the 49ers.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett caught five passes for 46 yards in Sunday's loss to the Eagles.

Everett was targeted seven times, and most of them came on underneath throws as the Rams played catchup in a 30-23 defeat. The 2017 second-round pick should remain a midrange TE2 in the fantasy championship.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett catches four passes in Rams’ loss.

Everett gained 29 yards on his four Week 14 receptions, including a seven-yard reception on a fake punt that he converted. The second-year tight end has upside every week in this offense, but next week against the Eagles is a difficult matchup.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett caught one pass for seven yards in Sunday's win over the Lions.

Everett was targeted three times, but he couldn't build on his heroic performance in Week 11. The 2017 second-round pick should still carry enough weekly upside to warrant TE2 consideration in the fantasy playoffs, but Chicago presents a tough matchup next Sunday night.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett catches game-winning touchdown in Monday Night Football classic.

Everett caught three passes for 49 yards and two scores, including the game-winner from 40 yards away to give Los Angles a 54-51 victory. On the play, Everett was able to beat his man down the right sideline and break out of the tackle with some great footwork after catching a dime from Jared Goff in stride. On the previous score, Everett found space across the middle and made a contested grab from seven yards away. The 2017 second-round pick should be confident when Los Angeles returns from their Week 12 bye, and he is worth considering as a streaming option against Detroit next time out.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett scores first touchdown of the season in win over the Seahawks.

Everett caught two-of-two targets for 15 yards, including a ten-yard score in the first half. The 2017 second-round pick could be in for an extended role the rest of the way with Cooper Kupp (knee) out, and he's likely worth considering as a streaming option in Week 11 with several options on bye, especially since the matchup is good against the Chiefs for a probable shootout.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett impresses in Week 9 loss.

Everett caught three passes (on five targets) for 48 yards, also adding a clutch two-point conversion to tie the game at 35-35 before New Orleans pulled away in a 45-35 victory. It was good to see the 2017 second-round pick involved even with Cooper Kupp back in the lineup, and perhaps the expanded role over the past couple weeks will allow Everett to be a bigger factor down the stretch for the Super Bowl-contending Rams. The 24-year-old caught three passes for 24 yards in the first meeting with the Seahawks, but he's nothing more than a TE2 option next week against Seattle.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett catches 22-yard pass in win over the Packers.

It was his only reception of the game on two targets. Everett has yet to find the end zone or go for 25+ yards in a game this season, so be probably won't be a recommended TE2 for Week 9 against New Orleans.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett catches one pass in Week 7.

Everett caught a jet-sweep motion push pass that went for -5 yards. The second-year tight end is only a dynasty-league option for now.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett caught two passes for 24 yards in Sunday's win over Denver.

Everett, who was the only tight end to receive a target in the game, saw an extended offensive role with Cooper Kupp leaving and then returning to be limited with a knee injury. If Kupp misses time in Week 7 and beyond, Everett is worth considering as a streaming option in all leagues, as he could take some more targets out of the slot and over the middle. The Rams travel to San Francisco next Sunday.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett caught three passes for 24 yards in Sunday's win over Seattle.

Everett hauled in all three of his targets, as the tight ends got more involved when Cooper Kupp and Brandin Cooks both left the game to enter the concussion protocol. Los Angeles' 2017 second-round pick is worth monitoring as a streamer in the even that Kupp and Cooks both aren't cleared for Week 6 in Denver.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett catches on pass in win over the Vikings.

It went for 13 yards. Everett has just three receptions for 33 yards to start the season, as Sean McVay's offense runs through Todd Gurley and the wideouts. He can be left on the waiver wire in redraft leagues.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett catches one pass in win over the Chargers.

It went for three yards. LA's 2017 second-round pick breaking out would really unlock the offense's potential, but there are probably too many players that need targets for him to turn into a fantasy option this season.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett catches one pass in Week 2.

Everett's lone reception went for 17 yards, his first reception of the season. As no better than the fifth option on offense for the Rams, Everett is not a recommended fantasy option at the moment.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett (shoulder) will miss a week or so.

The Rams left for Baltimore for this week's preseason game versus the Ravens, and Everett did not make the trip after suffering a shoulder sprain in practice. Rams head coach Sean McVay says he'll rehab "for at least the next week or so," which could put him in danger for the second preseason game, too. The second-year tight end is competing for a large role in LA's offense, and hopefully he can get back on the field soon. Tyler Higbee will handle most of the first-team snaps with Everett out.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett catches one pass in first playoff game.

The rookie tight end gained four yards on his lone reception, as he slipped on the field like a lot of players did throughout the night. Everett is someone the Rams have high hopes for, and he was drafted in the second round for a reason. He'll have breakout potential heading into his season NFL season and is someone to watch for 2018 fantasy drafts.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett caught three passes for 16 yards in Sunday's loss to the Niners.

Everett finishes his first regular season with 16 receptions for 244 yards and two touchdowns. The second-round pick probably won't be more involved until 2018, but he will look to make some plays for the Rams in a potential playoff run. They face the Falcons on Saturday night.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett catches one pass against the Eagles.

Everett had only six yards in the Week 14 loss. The rookie tight end has a promising future with the Rams, but he's not a fantasy option quite yet.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett scores in win over the Cardinals.

Everett caught two passes for seven yards, including a one-yard touchdown. The rookie tight end isn't a recommended fantasy option down the stretch, but he should make some plays for the contending Rams.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett catches one pass in Week 12 win.

It went for nine yards. Everett isn't a fantasy option in redraft leagues.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett held to one reception in loss.

It went for eight yards. Everett will make some plays, but he's just a dynasty option at this point.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett catches 44-yard pass in Week 9 win.

It was his only reception of the game, but he also rushed once for 13 yards. The rookie isn't a reliable fantasy option this season, but he could eventually be a star for those in dynasty leagues.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett scores first career touchdown in Rams' win.

The rookie tight end caught one pass against the Jaguars, but he made it count as he took a shuffle pass for a four-yard touchdown. Everett should have many more touchdowns throughout his career, but he's not yet a fantasy option with his role not that expansive so far in his rookie season.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett catches one pass in Week 5.

The rookie tight end gained eight yards on his only reception. Everett is an excellent dynasty league roster hold, but he probably should not be on standard rosters unless you have a ton of roster space.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett held to one catch in Week 4 win.

It went for eight yards. The promising rookie tight end can stay on the waiver wire in redraft leagues, but Los Angeles has an emerging offense for 2017 and beyond, especially once Everett adjusts to the NFL. The Rams host the Seahawks in Week 5.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett caught three passes for 95 yards in Sunday's loss to the Redskins.

Everett found himself wide open on a nice scramble by Jared Goff for 69 yards, and the second-round pick is now averaging 33.5 yards per catch through two games. While rookie tight ends usually struggle, Everett has a really smart coach scheming him open so far. Still, he's not a recommended fantasy option in Week 3 and can probably be left on the waiver wire.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett catches one pass in NFL debut.

It went for 39 yards in the Rams' 46-9 win over Indianapolis. Everett can probably be left on the waiver wire in standard leagues, but he's a tremendous asset in dynasty leagues. The Rams play Washington next.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Gerald Everett caught four passes for 30 yards in last night's preseason win over the Raiders.

Everett had a long of 24 yards, which was a play he displayed another basketball-like move in the open field to make a defender miss. Rookie tight ends usually struggle to be big-time contributors, but Everett is a great target in dynasty leagues. The Jordan Reed comparisons are high praise but look to be fair so far.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Rookie tight end Gerald Everett shows quickness in first preseason game.

The second-round pick had two receptions for 12 yards, with the highlight coming on a nine-yard reception. Everett spun away from the defender immediately after the catch, then put a crossover juke on another defender. It looked just like something Redskins tight end Jordan Reed would do, which happens to be the comparison a lot of people made for Everett (and Rams head coach Sean McVay coached Reed in Washington). Everett might not make a huge impact as a rookie, but he's a very strong option in dynasty leagues.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

Rams rookie tight end Gerald Everett expects to play a Jordan Reed-like role.

New head coach Sean McVay, of course, was Reed's coordinator with the Redskins. Everett was picked in the second round to fill this role and make things easier for Jared Goff. Typically young tight ends don't make a big year-one impact, but the opportunity is there for Everett.

Gerald Everett | Chargers TE

The Rams select South Alabama tight end Gerald Everett with the 44th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Everett is former basketball player that's only been playing football for a few years. He's a true receiving tight end with long arms, and he should be a welcome addition for Jared Goff and the offense. New Rams head coach Sean McCoy oversaw excellent seasons from Jordan Reed in Washington, so he won't have any issue running a lot of the offense through a tight end. If Everett becomes the Rams' version of Jordan Reed, that'd be pretty good for them, to say the least.
