Greg Ward Jr. | Eagles WR

Greg Ward Jr. signed his exclusive rights tender.

The former Houston quarterback continues to show promise as a receiver, coming off a 54/419/6 campaign last year. Ward will compete for a starting role in the Eagles receiving corps for 2021.

Greg Ward catches game-winning touchdown in win over the Redskins.

Ward—who finished with seven receptions for 61 yards—was able to high-point a ball in traffic from four yards out to give Philadelphia the lead and win. The former college quarterback has proven himself as a reliable weapon since getting promoted from the practice squad, and he will have a role in Week 16 whether or not Nelson Agholor (knee) is able to return. That said, the Cowboys will be a tougher matchup, so Ward will remain a low-floor FLEX in an offense that runs through the tight ends and running backs.

The Eagles promoted Greg Ward to the active roster.

Ward is being promoted from the practice squad as a corresponding move to safety Rudy Ford being placed on injured reserve, but this might not bode well for the status of Nelson Agholor (knee) and/or Alshon Jeffery (ankle) for tomorrow's game against the Seahawks. Ward is a versatile player that can also contribute on special teams.

The Eagles promoted Greg Ward from the practice squad.

With DeSean Jackson (abdomen) out and Alshon Jeffery (calf) questionable for Week 3, Ward is getting the call up to the active roster. Ward might spend some time in the slot while Nelson Agholor gets more snaps on the outside tomorrow against the Lions.

Greg Ward has signed with the Eagles.

Ward was just in the AAF, but the former Houston quarterback previously spent training camp with the Eagles. He will hope to show enough this summer to make the 53-man roster behind Alshon Jeffery, Nelson Agholor, and DeSean Jackson.

Greg Ward Jr. catches four passes in preseason debut.

The converted Houston quarterback has been impressing as a receiver and looked like one out there, despite only having 12 yards on his four receptions. If Ward doesn't make the final roster, he's a definite practice squad candidate.

Greg Ward Jr. | Eagles WR

The Eagles are signing former Houston quarterback Greg Ward Jr. as an undrafted free agent.

While he was productive as a quarterback—and a Heisman candidate, at times—Ward made the professional switch to receiver, so he faces a learning curve. However, Ward has the athleticism (he rushed for 1,114 yards as a junior) to make the switch. He is likely a candidate to make the practice squad on the Eagles or another team.
