The Broncos have selected North Carolina running back Javonte Williams with the No. 35 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Some viewed Williams as the top back in the draft because of his combination of power and violence, but he ends up going to the Broncos on Day 2. Despite being a power back, Williams can also do damage in the passing game considering his size, which would obviously be a boost to his fantasy value if Denver views him as a three-down option long-term, which they probably do considering they moved up in the second round to get him. In general, we would say Williams—who lacks top-tier speed—might be more of a grinder at the next level, so it’s important that the Broncos give him a solid workload to reach FLEX value as a rookie behind Melvin Gordon.
