WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

J.J. Arcega-Whiteside | Eagles TE

The Eagles activated J.J. Arcega-Whiteside from the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Arcega-Whiteside had been a healthy scratch for the Eagles, so this doesn't have a big impact from a fantasy perspective. But it's good to hear JJAW has been cleared and can get back with his teammates.

J.J. Arcega-Whiteside | Eagles TE

The Eagles are placing J.J. Arcega-Whiteside on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Fellow receivers John Hightower and Deontay Burnett are also being placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list as close contacts, according to Geoff Mosher, so it seems that'll hopefully be it. Arcega-Whiteside was a healthy scratch last week, so this doesn't have a huge impact from a fantasy perspective, but we hope he's feeling better soon.

J.J. Arcega-Whiteside | Eagles TE

J.J. Arcega-Whiteside (calf) was officially a full participant in today's practice.

Arcega-Whiteside looks set to return to the field this Sunday after missing Week 4 with his calf issue, but it's difficult to trust the second-year receiver in fantasy lineups.

J.J. Arcega-Whiteside | Eagles TE

J.J. Arcega-Whiteside (calf) is officially inactive for Sunday night.

Arcega-Whiteside was listed as doubtful entering tonight, so this was expected. The Eagles are also without DeSean Jackson (hamstring), Jalen Reagor (hand), and Alshon Jeffery (foot) at receiver.

J.J. Arcega-Whiteside | Eagles TE

J.J. Arcega-Whiteside (calf) is doubtful for Week 4.

Arcega-Whiteside apparently got hurt last week in pre-game warmups and then wasn't a factor, so it would be a surprise if he suited up on Sunday night. The Eagles will have Greg Ward and John Hightower as their top receivers against San Francisco.

J.J. Arcega-Whiteside | Eagles TE

J.J. Arcega-Whiteside (calf) officially did not practice today.

Arcega-Whiteside was limited in Week 3 because of a calf issue that game him trouble during pregame warmups, and the second-year receiver is now looking unlikely for Week 4 after also missing yesterday's practice. The Eagles are depleted at receiver right now.

J.J. Arcega-Whiteside | Eagles TE

J.J. Arcega-Whiteside (foot) is questionable to return for the Eagles.

It seems Arcega-Whiteside might have been dealing with this for a bit throughout the afternoon now. We'll update you when more information becomes available on the rookie receiver's status.

J.J. Arcega-Whiteside will play in Week 4.

Arcega-Whiteside was listed on the injury report with a heel injury this week, but he’s good to go for tomorrow night against the Packers. The rookie receiver is just a strong dynasty-league hold for now, as he’s had some early-season growing pains in the NFL.

J.J. Arcega-Whiteside (heel) was listed as a full participant for Tuesday's practice.

It was another estimation for the Philadelphia as they just had a walkthrough, but Arcega-Whiteside should be good to go on Thursday night. That said, he may fall to the team's No. 4 receiver behind Alshon Jeffery (calf), Nelson Agholor, and Mack Hollins.

J.J. Arcega-Whiteside | Eagles TE

J.J. Arcega-Whiteside (heel) did not participate in Monday's practice.

Philadelphia didn't have an actual practice, so it was an estimation. The rookie was basically invisible on Sunday despite 55 snaps played with Alshon Jeffery (calf) and DeSean Jackson (abdomen) inactive, so perhaps the injury played a role. The heel could also be a non-issue ahead of Thursday night's game, but Arcega-Whiteside is difficult to trust as a fantasy option either way.

J.J. Arcega-Whiteside | Eagles TE

J.J. Arcega-Whiteside catches one pass in Week 3.

With Alshon Jeffery (calf) and DeSean Jackson (abdomen) out for the Eagles, Arcega-Whiteside received more playing time; but the second-round rookie caught just one pass for ten yards in the game. JJAW wasn't noticeable for much of the game, but he had an opportunity at a go-ahead touchdown late in the game on a deep ball that he couldn't come up with after it went off his hands. Arcega-Whiteside is a strong dynasty league option, but he does not need to be owned in standard redraft leagues.

J.J. Arcega-Whiteside | Eagles TE

The Eagles have selected Stanford wide receiver J.J. Arcega-Whiteside with the No. 57 pick (second round) in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Arcega-Whiteside has been a bit overlooked throughout the pre-draft process, but he is a top-end rebounder that knows how to use body positioning to shield off cornerbacks in the red zone, which should make him an immediate threat for double-digit scores for the Eagles, depending on his playing time. This could mean Nelson Agholor is on his way out of Philadelphia, though it's probably unwise for the Eagles to get rid of one of the heroes from their Super Bowl LII victory—but we'll see. Arcega-Whiteside also showed surprising speed with a 4.49 40-yard dash at his Pro Day, so that bodes well for his ability to create some separation against NFL defenders as he transitions to the next level. The Stanford product will be at his best if Carson Wentz gives him opportunities to make plays in jump-ball situations.
