WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Joe Webb | Free Agent QB

The Giants waived Joe Webb.

Webb is being released to make room for recently-claimed running back Ryquell Armstead. Webb is one of the NFL's more versatile players, so he should draw interest relatively quickly.

Joe Webb | Free Agent QB

The Giants signed Joe Webb to the practice squad.

Webb provides great versatility as a guy that can play on both special teams and offense. The Giants might also be keeping Webb in mind as a potential emergency quarterback option during the COVID-19 pandemic which can wipe out position groups at a time as we've seen.

The Lions signed Joe Webb III to the practice squad.

Webb has the versatility to play quarterback, special teams, and receivers, so he's a good player to have on the practice squad to potentially get called up to contribute at some point this season.

Joe Webb | Free Agent QB

Joe Webb (foot) is expected to land on injured reserve, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Webb played well this preseason, and it's unfortunate that he won't be able to contribute for the Texans this season if he does land on IR. In addition to being a third quarterback, Webb can also contribute on special teams.

The Texans are re-signing Joe Webb, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Webb's position is quarterback, but he's similar to Taysom Hill of the Saints in that he contributes on special teams. Webb is obviously a much better real-life contributor for his team than he is a fantasy asset.

Joe Webb | Free Agent QB

Joe Webb caught two passes for 13 yards in Sunday's loss to the Colts.

Webb was forced into action as the team's No. 3 wideout with DeAndre Carter (concussion) going down, but the former quarterback isn't on the fantasy radar.

Joe Webb | Free Agent QB

The Texans signed quarterback Joe Webb.

Webb is an athletic veteran quarterback that's spent time with the Panthers and Bills. Even as a quarterback, Webb can contribute on special teams as both a returner and cover guy, so his versatility should help him make Houston's roster. There's a chance Webb also pushes Brandon Weeden for the backup quarterback job behind Deshaun Watson.

Joe Webb plays quarterback in Week 14.

Tyrod Taylor (knee) was inactive for the game, so after Nathan Peterman went down with a concussion, Webb stepped in to play quarterback for the Bills. Webb was 2/6 for 35 yards and an interception while adding five carries for 27 yards, and his team got the overtime win over the Colts. Webb probably would've aired it out more, but the snowy conditions called for a run-heavy game for both teams. While he probably doesn't want to see his teammates hurt, Webb probably had some fun playing a little quarterback after he's been used as more of an all-around weapon over the last few seasons.

Joe Webb | Free Agent QB

Joe Webb gets involved in Week 13.

Webb rushed three times for 27 yards and missed a deep touchdown on his only pass attempt. If Tyrod Taylor misses time, Webb should have more plays as a versatile weapon, but it wouldn't lead to any fantasy value.

The Bills signed quarterback Joe Webb.

The veteran quarterback worked out with Buffalo yesterday and the Bills decided to sign him. Webb will fill in as the third quarterback behind Tyrod Taylor and Nathan Peterman, and he'll be the backup if Taylor isn't able to go in the opener on Sunday. Webb can also contribute on special teams, so we'll see if the Bills keep three quarterbacks active on game days.

Joe Webb | Free Agent QB

The Panthers released quarterback Joe Webb.

Carolina also released Garrett Gilbert, so it appears they are only going with two quarterback: Cam Newton and Derek Anderson. Webb's release is a bit of a surprise, considering it leaves the Panthers with two quarterbacks and because Webb can contribute on special teams. There's no guarantee gets another opportunity with another team, but it's possible he could be back with the Panthers if they need him.

Joe Webb | Free Agent QB

Joe Webb throws a couple touchdowns in preseason win against Houston.

The veteran quarterback was 7/14 for 128 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception while adding three carries for 21 yards. Webb made some solid throws, showing off his strong arm. The interception came on an overthrown on a shot to the end zone. Webb is probably locked in as the team's number three quarterback, as he also contributes on special teams.
