Jordan Akins (concussion) ruled out for Week 7.

Akins will miss the second game in a row, so veteran Darren Fells is worth again starting as a streaming option for a potential shootout against the Packers.

Jordan Akins (hamstring) has been ruled out for tomorrow’s game.

The second-year tight end isn’t traveling with the team to Kansas City, so he’s been ruled out for the second playoff game in a row. Veteran Darren Fells should again work as the starter and have a full-time role on Sunday.

Akins and the rest of the tight ends struggled to make an impact in a game that the Colts dominated. Despite being a third-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, Akins turns 27 this spring, and there's no guarantee he opens 2019 with a significant role in Bill O'Brien's offense.

Jordan Akins | Giants TE

The Texans have selected UCF tight end Jordan Akins with the No. 98 pick (third round) of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Atkins is actually 26 years old, as he played pro baseball out of high school and eventually went to UCF in 2014. He was previously a wide receiver, but tore his ACL in 2015 and the made the switch to tight end for his last two seasons in college. As a senior, Atkins had 32 receptions for 515 yards and four touchdowns in 11 games. The Texans say they had a "really good vision" about Atkins, who they were able to coach at the Senior Bowl, and it sounds like they anticipate him growing with experience. Atkins is probably more of a dynasty-league option for now, though perhaps he'll carve out a large role as a rookie.
