WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Kasen Williams | Free Agent WR

The Colts have released wide receiver Kasen Williams.

Williams has drawn a lot of buzz in preseason action since entering the league, but he will again seek work elsewhere after being cut by Indy. He turns 26 in December.

The Colts have signed wide receiver Kasen Williams.

Williams was recently released by the Browns, whom he spent the 2017 season with on the practice squad after he was a preseason star for Seattle last summer. In Indianapolis, he has a good chance to make another preseason impact to earn a roster spot—perhaps even a starting job—on an unproven depth chart behind T.Y. Hilton. He is definitely someone to keep an eye on in the preseason, and deeper dynasty leagues should have already had Williams on their radar.

The Browns have released wide receiver Kasen Williams.

Williams made some big-time plays for the Seahawks last preseason, but he was among Seattle's final cuts and then landed in Cleveland for the regular season. The 25-year-old receiver should not have much trouble finding another team to give him a chance during the preseason.

Kasen Williams leads team in receiving on Sunday.

Williams caught four passes for 41 yards, as Kevin Hogan could only throw for 140 yards in his first career start. The preseason star should probably play ahead of Kenny Britt for good at this point, but the Browns are too unreliable to trust in fantasy lineups, especially with Kevin Hogan or DeShone Kizer at quarterback. They will try to avoid 0-7 against the Titans next Sunday.

Kasen Williams caught four passes for 33 yards in Sunday's loss to the Jets.

Williams was a preseason star for Seattle, but this was his first game with more than one reception for the Browns. Perhaps he showed enough to earn more snaps in the coming weeks, but Williams can stay on the waiver wire in fantasy leagues.

Kasen Williams catches one pass in Week 3.

Williams had a ten-yard reception on one of his two targets. It'd be nice to see him get more opportunities after he lit up the preseason.

The Browns claimed Kasen Williams.

Williams lit up the preseason for the Seahawks, but surprisingly did not make the final roster. The Browns used their waiver priority to claim the super athletic receiver, and Williams should have a great opportunity in Cleveland. The receiving group isn't too deep, so Williams should have a chance to get a good amount of playing time on offense. He's not really worth a roster spot in re-draft leagues yet, but he's worth a flier in dynasty leagues.

Kasen Williams did not make the Seahawks roster.

There really wasn't anything more Williams could have done this preseason, and his release comes as a huge surprise after how well he played this summer. Williams flashed huge big-play ability and took advantage of his time with the first team in the Seahawks' third preseason game, and he should definitely draw a ton of interest elsewhere. It's safe to say Seattle would love to get him through waivers and on to the practice squad, but chances are he gets claimed by another team.

Kasen Williams flashes with first team in Seahawks' second preseason game.

With Paul Richardson and Tyler Lockett both out, the Seahawks gave Williams an opportunity with the starters and he made the most of it, catching two passes for 28 yards and a touchdown. On his first reception, Williams came up with a great one-handed catch on a go route down the left sideline. Later in the drive, Williams caught a fade in the end zone to cap Seattle's opening drive against the Vikings. The former high jumper is almost certainly going to make the final roster and he could get a good amount of playing time this season.

WR Kasen Williams goes over 100 yards in Seahawks preseason game.

Williams had four receptions for 119 yards, including a long of 34 yards. All four of his catches came on go routes down the left sideline, as he kept making plays. His final catch was very nearly a touchdown, but he was ruled out of bounds inside the one-yard line. If Williams keeps playing like this, he might be able to crack Seattle's final roster, but it's a deep group so it won't be easy.
