The Vikings have selected Texas A&M quarterback Kellen Mond with the No. 66 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Mond will be more of a developmental prospect behind Kirk Cousins, but he has a dual-threat skillset and can really excel in the quick-strike passing game. He is also very intelligent and was coached hard by Jimbo Fisher at Texas A&M, so we like his chances of eventually turning into a solid starter if given the opportunity. From a fantasy perspective, Mond’s rushing upside would make him a quality streamer if forced into action as a rookie, especially with Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen to throw the ball to. In four years at College Station, the 21-year-old completed 59.0% of his passes fro 9,661 yards and a 71:27 touchdown-interception ratio, also adding 1,609 rushing yards and 22 scores on the ground; the total touchdowns (93) tied Johnny Manziel for the most in school history.
