WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Marcus Murphy | Free Agent RB

The Panthers have released Marcus Murphy.

Carolina actually has a pretty open depth chart behind Christian McCaffrey, but Murphy will look to earn a roster spot elsewhere if he isn't eventually re-signed. The veteran had spent time with both Buffalo and New Orleans before last season.

The Bills placed Marcus Murphy on injured reserve.

Murphy suffered a bad elbow dislocation in Sunday's win against the Lions, so this isn't a surprise. His season ends with 52 carries for 250 yards along with 11 receptions for 26 yards, as he ran the ball well when given opportunities. Perhaps Murphy can work his way into a larger role on offense next season, but he's not a must-own in dynasty leagues.

Marcus Murphy | Free Agent RB

Marcus Murphy (arm) is doubtful to return for the Bills.

Murphy appeared to suffer an elbow injury, and the doubtful designation obviously indicates he probably won't return against the Lions. Before leaving, Murphy had 11 carries for 35 yards while working as the top Bills running back with LeSean McCoy and Chris Ivory both inactive. Keith Ford, and underfed rookie from Texas A&M could be set for a heavy workload for the rest of today.

Marcus Murphy gets five touches in Week 14.

Murphy carried four times for ten yards and caught one pass for eight yards against the Jets. If LeSean McCoy (hamstring) and Chris Ivory (shoulder) miss more time after leaving this game, Murphy could be a 15-20+ touch guy next week against the Lions. He's worth a look as a waiver-wire pickup.

Marcus Murphy | Free Agent RB

Marcus Murphy gets one carry in Week 13.

Murphy gained seven yards on his lone carry against the Dolphins. Murphy isn't a fantasy option at the moment.

Marcus Murphy | Free Agent RB

Marcus Murphy gets 14 carries in Week 10.

Murphy gained 69 yards on his 14 attempts in the Bills' win against the Jets. This was a career-high in carries for the 27-year-old, and he did well with his opportunities, but it was LeSean McCoy (113 yards, two touchdowns) that did most of the damage for the Bills on the ground. Murphy isn't a recommended fantasy option at the moment.

Marcus Murphy | Free Agent RB

Marcus Murphy gets four touches against the Bears.

Murphy carried one time for six yards and added three receptions for -7 yards in the Bills' Week 9 loss. Buffalo couldn't get anything going offensively, and Murphy was no different. He's not a recommended fantasy option, even if Chris Ivory (shoulder) misses time.

Marcus Murphy | Free Agent RB

Marcus Murphy runs well in Week 7.

Murphy carried four times for 53 yards, including a 30-yard run, along with five receptions for 17 yards against the Colts. The fourth-year running back will receive more work if LeSean McCoy (concussion) misses time, but Chris Ivory would be the preferred fantasy option.

Marcus Murphy (rib) was a full participant in today's practice.

Murphy should be ready to go as one of LeSean McCoy's backups this Sunday against the Titans, but we'll let you know if anything changes throughout the week. Murphy is not on the fantasy radar right now, though.

Marcus Murphy | Free Agent RB

Marcus Murphy (rib) is inactive against the Packers.

Murphy was limited in practice every day throughout the week, and he's officially out for Week 4. LeSean McCoy (rib) is active for the Bills.

Marcus Murphy | Free Agent RB

Marcus Murphy handles nine touches as Bills upset the Vikings.

Murphy rushed eight times for 33 yards, also adding a one-yard reception. The 26-year-old saw extended playing time with LeSean McCoy (ribs) out, but Chris Ivory was the clear lead back and led the team in rushing and receiving. If McCoy misses more time, Murphy is worth considering in deeper PPR leagues as a FLEX option.

Marcus Murphy | Free Agent RB

Marcus Murphy handles four touches in Week 2 loss.

Murphy rushed three times for six yards and caught a seven-yard pass. He also put the ball on the ground, but recovered it. The 26-year-old would form a committee with Chris Ivory if LeSean McCoy went down.

Marcus Murphy | Free Agent RB

Marcus Murphy leads Bills in Week 1 rushing.

LeSean McCoy didn't get much time in what quickly became a blowout, so Murphy led the way with six carries for 31 yards against the Ravens. Murphy is not a reliable fantasy option.

Marcus Murphy | Free Agent RB

Marcus Murphy handles nine touches in win over the Dolphins.

Murphy rushed seven times for 41 yards and caught two passes for seven yards. The former Saint hadn't appeared in a game all season, but he was forced into action after LeSean McCoy left with an ankle injury. Murphy could see some work in the Wild Card Round next Sunday against the Jaguars, but he might not find much running room.
