Mark Walton | Free Agent RB

Mark Walton has been suspended for eight weeks.

Walton is currently a free agent, so this doesn't really affect things in the immediate future. However, the clarity on his situation could lead to interest from teams around the league for the current free agent if any of them want to take a chance on a player that's made some questionable decisions early in his NFL career.

Mark Walton's aggravated assault charges have been dropped.

The state of Florida chose not to go forward with the case after "months of investigating." Still, Walton's behavior since entering the NFL has not been a good look, and it would be a surprise if a team signs him anytime soon, as he has not done a good job of representing the shield. Walton still faces discipline from the NFL, which has shown they are not afraid to impose discipline pending their own investigation no matter the result in the legal system. Hopefully Walton can stay out of trouble and take advantage of another opportunity in the league if he gets one.

Mark Walton has been arrested, according to WSVN 7 News.

Walton was involved in a domestic dispute, and while there was no physical contact, police say he violated a restraining order. A starter for the Dolphins last season before being released, Walton just can't seem to avoid trouble, and it seems like a long shot he will get another NFL opportunity in 2020.

The Dolphins waived Mark Walton.

Yet another off-field issue has popped up for Walton, who is currently serving a four-game suspension for off-field incidents this past offseason. In a statement, Dolphins general manager Chris Grier said: "We were made aware of a police matter earlier this morning regarding Mark Walton. We hold our players to a high standard and take these matters very seriously. We will have no further comment at this time." Walton had a good opportunity with the Dolphins, but he's running himself out of the league with his behavior. It's difficult to see another team giving Walton a chance soon.

Mark Walton has been suspended four games.

This stems from the offseason arrests for Walton during the offseason when he was a member of the Bengals. Dolphins head coach Brian Flores released a statement saying that the team supports Walton and looks forward to getting him back after his suspension. This opens the door for Kalen Ballage to take on a potential featured role, but keep in mind that the Dolphins being one of the worst teams in the league caps Ballage's upside a bit. Walton is not a must-hold in redraft leagues, especially if you need roster space.

Mark Walton leads Miami's backfield in Week 7.

Walton carried 14 times for 66 yards against a tough Bills run defense, and he also had one reception that went for -8 yards. The University of Miami product's 15 touches were more than Kenyan Drake (nine touches) and Kallen Ballage (three touches) combined, and he appears to be the clear lead ball-carrier in the backfield after the past couple of weeks. This is quite the turnaround for Walton after off-field issues had him released by the Bengals in the offseason, but he's still on the league's worst team in a backfield committee where he doesn't receive most of the receiving work (that goes to Drake) or goal-line work (Ballage is the team's goal-line back). He's certainly worth a pickup as someone that at least gets the football, but he's not quite a must-start fantasy asset yet—a trade of Drake at the trade deadline would help his fantasy value, though.

Mark Walton received six months probation, according to Andy Slater.

Walton was arrested multiple times this offseason, but he plead no contest to a misdemeanor weapons charge and had his other charges dismissed. The former University of Miami running back can get his probation reduced to three months with good behavior. It's good that this situation is solved, but the NFL is still likely to discipline Walton for his off-field actions. Walton is currently looking to make the 53-man roster for the Dolphins.

The Dolphins signed Mark Walton.

Walton has had a troubled offseason with multiple arrests, so he’s pretty lucky to land in a spot where he went to college at the University of Miami. Walton will look to stay out of trouble and make the Dolphins roster, but he’s not really on the fantasy radar yet.

The Bengals waived running back Mark Walton.

Walton was arrested a mind-boggling three times this offseason, so this was obviously fully expected. Despite being selected in the fourth round (112 overall) of last year's draft, it'd be a surprise if a team is interested in Walton at this point. He'll likely need to show he's taken steps to get his life back on track first. The Bengals will likely be targeting running backs in this month's draft.

Mark Walton has been arrested for the third time in three months.

A fourth-round pick of the Bengals last season, Walton is facing felony charges of carrying a concealed weapon, marijuana possession, and reckless driving from a high-speed car chase last month. Almost unbelievably, he tried escaping from police and was tasered, but somehow got up after pulling the electric prongs off and vanished. Police then went to his car, finding 14 grams of marijuana and a rifle with fully-loaded clips. In February, Walton got in a scuffle with a neighbor, and in January, he was arrested for marijuana possession. Overall, the Miami product seems to be doing his best to force himself out of the league, so it wouldn't be surprising if Cincinnati releases him soon.

Mark Walton gets one carry in Week 13.

Walton gained ten yards on his lone attempt versus the Broncos. The rookie running back is not a fantasy option right now.

Mark Walton handles three carries in win over the Bucs.

Walton rushed twice for seven yards and caught a ten-yard pass. The rookie is probably going to revert back to No. 3 duties if Giovani Bernard (knee) can get cleared following the Week 9 bye, so Walton doesn't need to be owned in fantasy leagues.

Mark Walton rushed four times for ten yards in Sunday’s loss to the Chiefs.

Walton saw most of his work with the game in hand, as he basically saw the field when Joe Mixon needed a breather. Also, the rookie didn’t help his case for more change-of-pace touches by showing poor effort on an early pass-blocking opportunity, so he’s not a recommended fantasy option behind Mixon heading into a matchup with the Bucs.

Mark Walton handles two touches in Sunday's loss to the Steelers.

Walton rushed twice for negative-two yards behind Joe Mixon. Whether or not Giovani Bernard (knee) returns next Sunday night against the Chiefs, Walton probably won't get enough touches to be worth strongly considering in 10- or 12-team leagues.

Mark Walton handles two touches in Week 5 win.

Walton was thought to be in for an extended role with Giovani Bernard (knee) out and Joe Mixon coming off an injury of his own, but Cincinnati immediately fed their starter with 25 touches. The Miami product is nothing more than a short-term handcuff.

Mark Walton gets seven touches in Bengals' win.

Walton had five carries for nine yards and two receptions for 28 yards against the Falcons. The rookie running back from Miami left briefly to be evaluated for a possible concussion, but he returned to the game. These were the first touches of Walton's NFL career, and he should receive more work if Joe Mixon (knee) remains out next week against Miami.

Mark Walton is back in the game for the Bengals.

Walton was evaluated for a concussion and checked out, so he's back in the game in the fourth quarter. The Bengals are currently down by five and are driving deep in Atlanta territory.

Walton has been mixing in behind Giovani Bernard, with the Bengals in a shootout with the Falcons. We'll update you as more information becomes available.

Mark Walton | Free Agent RB

The Bengals have selected Miami (FL) running back Mark Walton with the 112th pick (fourth round) of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Walton is a quick change-of-pace back that could be Giovani Bernard's long-term replacement behind Joe Mixon. A sub-par Combine hurt Walton's stock for those who considered him as a solid Day 2 pick, but this is really good value for him, and Bill Lazor will know how to get him touches in his fast-paced offensive attack. An impact in 2018 is possible, but Walton probably won't be worth selecting in redraft league this summer.
