WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Matthew Slater | Patriots WR

The Patriots signed Matthew Slater to a two-year extension, according to ESPN's Field Yates.

Slater will not hit free agency, as New England retains a key special teams player and one of their top locker room leaders. The veteran player typically doesn't spend time on offense, so this isn't a notable move from a fantasy perspective, but it's great news for the Patriots.

Matthew Slater is re-signing with the Patriots, according to multiple reports.

Slater took a visit with the Steelers last week, but the seven-time special teams Pro Bowler is returning to the Patriots. He'll be a key member of the Patriots as a special teams captain that makes a ton of plays on the important third unit, but he's not on the fantasy radar.

Matthew Slater (hamstring) is inactive in Week 3.

The special teams ace is still trying to get healthy from his bad hamstring issue. As expected, TE Rob Gronkowski and WR Danny Amendola are both active against the Texans.

Matthew Slater (hamstring) is out tonight.

The special teams ace isn't ready to go to open the NFL season against the Chiefs. It's a key loss for New England, as they'll need others to step up in Slater's absence.
