WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Michael Carter | Jets RB

Michael Carter (concussion) has been ruled out for the rest of today.

Carter was getting checked out earlier, and now his afternoon is unfortunately done late in the first half. The rookie running back broke a long run and had three carries for 54 yards along with one reception for nine yards overall against a tough Bucs defense in Week 17.

Michael Carter has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

New York is today's hot spot with 14 players (plus head coach Robert Saleh) being placed on the list, so if things worsen, it wouldn't be a surprise to see the game be postponed similar to the three from last week. For now, fantasy owners should plan to be without Carter for Week 16, and Tevin Coleman would be on the low-end RB2/FLEX map if he starts versus Jacksonville.

Michael Carter (ankle) will be activated from injured reserve.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh says that Carter will have a big role against the Dolphins in Week 15. The rookie running back missed just three games while on injured reserve, returning as soon as possible, which is good to see. Carter should be a solid option in fantasy lineups this weekend.

The Jets have placed Michael Carter (ankle) on injured reserve.

Carter is dealing with a high-ankle sprain, so this move isn’t a surprise, and he’ll miss the next three games. Tevin Coleman and Ty Johnson should split backfield work with La’Mical Perine also mixing in.

Michael Carter is dealing with a low-grade high-ankle sprain, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The injury is expected to sideline New York's rookie runner for two-to-three weeks, so injured reserve could be a possibility for him. Tevin Coleman might get a shot to lead the backfield with Ty Johnson also seeing an increased role, and while both guys could be difficult to trust, they'll notably get a good spot in Week 12 versus the Texans.

The Jets have selected North Carolina running back Michael Carter with the No. 107 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

The 1B option to Javonte Williams’ 1A role at North Carolina, Carter had back-to-back 1,000-yard rushing seasons for the Tar Heels—and 2020 was his best collegiate campaign with 8.0 yards per carry and 10.7 yards per reception (on 25 grabs). Overall, Carter compares very favorably to Devin Singletary, but a limited ceiling in terms of workload if what pushes him behind the top running backs in the class. Perhaps he will get a shot at an extended role in New York, but Carter currently profiles as a late-round flier behind Tevin Coleman and 2020 third-round pick La'Mical Perine.
