The Seahawks have elevated Phillip Dorsett from the practice squad.
Dorsett will play tonight against the Rams, and he could immediately see snaps as a vertical threat for Seattle's offense. The veteran isn't worth the risk in redraft leagues, but DFS players could gamble on him running under a Russell Wilson deep ball.
The Jaguars are waiving Phillip Dorsett.
Dorsett had a 38-yard catch in the Jaguars' last preseason game, and we thought he'd make the roster, but he's a surprise cut. The veteran receiver makes plays when he gets opportunities, and he should land with another team soon.
The Jaguars are signing Phillip Dorsett, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
Dorsett had a lost season last year with Seattle, but he's now healthy and is an intriguing addition to Urban Meyer's offense. Dorsett will stretch the field and could be an interesting fantasy option—particularly in deep leagues—if he forms a connection with presumptive No. 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence.
Phillip Dorsett had foot surgery today, according to Brady Henderson.
Dorsett had bone spurs that needed to be cleaned up, and while he isn't considered to be done for the season, foot surgeries can be tricky—especially for wide receivers. David Moore will continue operating as Seattle's third wideout behind D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett until if/when Josh Gordon is reinstated.
The Seahawks have placed Phillip Dorsett (foot) on IR, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Dorsett has been dealing with his foot issue since the summer, and he's been unable to get on the field early in his Seahawks career. Hopefully this three weeks minimum on injured reserve allows the speedy receiver to get back to full strength before working his way into a role at around midseason.
Phillip Dorsett is signing a one-year deal with the Seahawks, according to Josina Anderson.
Dorsett had been a big-time contributor for New England in key moments over the past few seasons, but he will now head across the country to be a role player in Seattle. While the former first-round pick will likely remain a better real-life contributor than fantasy option, he's certainly a name to have on the radar with Russell Wilson throwing passes.
Phillip Dorsett (concussion) is officially active for Sunday night.
Dorsett has cleared concussion protocol and is ready to face the Texans. The speedy receiver has some upside as a FLEX option in Week 13 fantasy lineups.
Phillip Dorsett (concussion) is is officially listed as questionable for Week 13.
Dorsett has been able to practice throughout the week on a limited basis, but he needs to clear concussion protocol to play this Sunday night against the Texans. If active, the speedy receiver would have upside for Week 13, but be sure to have a backup plan if you want to use him in your lineup.
Phillip Dorsett (concussion) remains limited in practice.
Dorsett is still in concussion protocol, but there is hope he'll be ready to go this Sunday night against the Texans. The final Week 13 injury report will be released on Friday.
Phillip Dorsett (concussion) is officially inactive for Week 12.
Dorsett is making progress through concussion protocol, but he has not been fully cleared to play today against the Cowboys. The speedy receiver appears to have a good shot to get cleared for Week 13.
Phillip Dorsett (concussion) is officially listed as questionable for Week 12.
Dorsett is progressing through the concussion protocol, but he hasn’t been fully cleared yet. The speedy receiver’s status will be known at around 2:55 PM ET on Sunday, and rookie receiver N’Keal Harry would likely be set for a bigger role if Dorsett is out.
UPDATE: Phillip Dorsett (concussion) was officially limited in today's practice.
Dorsett was initially listed as a non-participant in today's practice, but it was either a mistake or the injury report wasn't yet updated from yesterday when the Patriots published it. This is good to hear for Dorsett, and he looks to have a shot to play this Sunday against the Cowboys. We'll see how he's listed on the final injury report tomorrow.
Phillip Dorsett (concussion) officially did not practice today.
Dorsett remains in concussion protocol, so he appears to have an uphill climb to get cleared and play on Sunday. To play against the Cowboys, Dorsett will likely need to progress through concussion protocol to the point that he can at least practice on a limited basis tomorrow.
Phillip Dorsett (concussion) officially did not practice today.
Dorsett just suffered a concussion a few days ago, so this is not a surprise. Hopefully he’s able to make enough progress through concussion protocol to play on Sunday, but his status will be tracked throughout the week.
Phillip Dorsett (head) will not return for the Patriots.
Before leaving, Dorsett had three receptions for 33 yards including a go-ahead touchdown on a clutch reception from Julian Edelman on a double pass. Dorsett is presumably in concussion protocol, and hopefully he's feeling better soon.
Phillip Dorsett (head) is officially questionable to return for the Patriots.
Dorsett took a big shot in the end zone while catching a touchdown on a trick play (Julian Edelman threw the touchdown), and he's probably being checked out for a concussion. We'll update you as more information becomes available on Dorsett's status.
Phillip Dorsett (hamstring) is officially active for the Patriots.
Dorsett was said to be dealing with a minor hamstring injury, and he missed just one game with the ailment (basically two games if you count when he left at the start of the game against the Redskins). Especially with Josh Gordon out, Dorsett is a solid FLEX option in Week 7 fantasy lineups.
Phillip Dorsett (hamstring) is officially listed as questionable for Monday night.
Dorsett is expected to play against the Jets, but the Patriots are probably making sure he gets through pregame warmups without any setback. If you’re planning to use Dorsett in Week 7, just have a backup plan in mind in case he’s inactive for the final game of the week. We fully expect he will play.
Phillip Dorsett (hamstring) was officially limited in today's practice.
Dorsett is trending towards playing on Monday night, but he might ultimately be listed as questionable when the final Week 7 injury report is released tomorrow. A full practice participation on Saturday would be a great sign.
Philip Doesett (hamstring) officially practiced on a limited basis today.
Yesterday, Dorsett said that he’ll be fine when asked about whether he believes he’ll be able to play on Monday night, and a limited practice to start the week is a great sign. We expect he’ll be ready to go against the Jets for Week 7.
Phillip Dorsett (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 6.
Dorsett injured his hamstring against the Redskins, so it's no surprise that he's not healthy enough to play on a short week. The Patriots will probably keep the ball on the ground, but Jakobi Meyers is worth considering as a flier for desperate fantasy owners, and the running backs (including Sony Michel) may see increased usage in the passing game.
Phillip Dorsett's hamstring injury is considered "minor", according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
This is great to hear, but Dorsett doesn't seem likely to play on a short week when the Patriots host the Giants to kickoff Week 6 this Thursday night. Undrafted rookie receiver Jakobi Meyers will get more playing time during Dorsett's absence.
Phillip Dorsett (hamstring) has been downgraded to out.
Dorsett was injured at the beginning of the game for the Patriots, and he had no receptions before leaving. This is unfortunate for a guy that's worked his way into having extreme trust from quarterback Tom Brady, but hopefully Dorsett doesn't miss much more time with the injury. Considering the Patriots have a short week and play this Thursday night to kickoff Week 6, Dorsett is likely to miss at least one game.
Phillip Dorsett II (hamstring) is officially questionable to return for the Patriots.
Dorsett was injured on the first offensive series for New England, so hopefully it's not too serious and he can return to the game soon. We'll update you as more information becomes available on Dorsett's status.
The Patriots are re-signing Phillip Dorsett to a one-year deal, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The 26-year-old receiver remains in New England for another year with a good shot to win another title before potentially cashing in on a long-term deal in free agency next year. The former first-round pick has seemingly made plays whenever he's been given opportunities the last two seasons with the Patriots, so we really like this signing for both sides. Hopefully Dorsett will get more opportunities in 2019, which could lead to some major value late in fantasy drafts this summer. Depending on what happens with free agent Chris Hogan (who is currently a free agent) and Josh Gordon, it's possible Dorsett is the clear No. 2 for the Patriots next season.
Phillip Dorsett did not catch a pass in Super Bowl LIII.
Dorsett was not targeted in the Patriots' Super Bowl victory against the Rams, but he'll certainly take the championship win for which he was a big part of as a guy that seemingly made plays whenever he was called upon this season (including a big touchdown in the AFC title game against the Chiefs). The 2015 first-round pick is set to become a free agent this offseason, and he'd be an interesting free agent assuming he isn't re-signed by New England before then. We believe Dorsett is one of the league's most underrated players, and he could be a great value as a strong starting-caliber receiver on the open market.
Phillip Dorsett scores in win over the Chiefs.
Dorsett caught a 29-yard touchdown in the first half for his only grab of the game, as he did an excellent job coming back to the football on what should have also been called a pass inference. The speedster will look to make an impact in Super Bowl LIII against the Rams in a couple weeks.
Phillip Dorsett scores in win over the Chargers.
Dorsett caught four passes for 41 yards, including a 15-yard touchdown in the second quarter. The former first-round pick continues to make plays when his number is called, and he will be an undervalued factor next weekend as New England attempts to make the Super Bowl for the third season in a row.
Phillip Dorsett scores in win over the Jets.
Dorsett caught five passes for 34 yards, including a nine-yard touchdown catch in the corner of the end zone. He also rushed twice for 16 yards. New England has struggled to get production from their outside receivers other than Josh Gordon (suspension) this season, but Dorsett seems to make plays whenever his number is called. The former first-round pick finishes the regular season with 32 receptions for 290 yards and three touchdowns; it wouldn't be at all surprising if he has a big performance in the playoffs.
Phillip Dorsett gets two touches in Week 16.
Dorsett carried two times for 13 yards against the Bills. Always ready when called upon, Dorsett is a much better real-life contributor than consistent fantasy asset heading into Week 17.
Phillip Dorsett catches two passes against the Jets.
Dorsett gained ten yards on his two receptions in the Patriots' Week 12 win. Dorsett was targeted just two times in the game and continues to make plays when called upon, but his role isn't big enough to deliver consistent fantasy value right now.
Phillip Dorsett caught two passes for 18 yards in Sunday's loss to the Titans.
Dorsett has actually been more productive than Chris Hogan over the past couple weeks, but Hogan continues working ahead of the former first-round pick. Neither needs to be rostered as New England heads into the bye week to get things figured out at 7-3.
Phillip Dorsett catches all three targets in Week 9.
Dorsett gained 30 yards on his three receptions versus Green Bay, as he continues to just make plays as a reliable weapon whenever his number is called. You have to respect Dorsett doing his job and not causing any issues despite a lack of playing time after the team acquired Josh Gordon from the Browns. If there were fantasy points for being a good teammate that takes advantage of his opportunities, Dorsett would be near the top of the league.
Phillip Dorsett barely sees the field in Week 8 win.
Dorsett wasn't targeted against Buffalo, and it didn't look like he was out there for more than a couple snaps. There's been talk of New England adding a receiver at the trade deadline, but the fact that the former first-round pick has been on the sidelines since the team acquired Josh Gordon makes it seem unlikely. Dorsett won't be a recommended fantasy option in Week 9 against Green Bay.
Phillip Dorsett catches one pass against the Bears.
Dorsett gained eight yards on his lone reception in the Week 7 win. He's played very well when given opportunities this season, but Dorsett is unfortunately not getting much playing time now that Josh Gordon is in the mix. Dorsett has seemingly been an excellent teammate, though, and he's a very good No. 4 receiver for the Patriots.
Phillip Dorsett doesn't catch a pass in Week 6.
With Josh Gordon now working as a full-time player for the Patriots, it didn't appear that Dorsett was in on offense at all for the team. It's a tough break for a guy that's seemingly made plays whenever he's been called upon the last two seasons, including a couple of touchdowns this year. At least the Patriots have excellent depth at receiver, and Dorsett probably isn't causing any issues with his decrease in role. Dorsett doesn't need to be owned in fantasy leagues.
Phillip Dorsett caught three passes for 25 yards in Thursday night's win over Indy.
Dorsett was facing his former team for the first time since being traded, and he brought in all three of his targets as he rotated behind Chris Hogan and Julian Edelman. The 2015 first-round pick earned playing time even with the receiving corps at full strength, but he is difficult to trust in any given week on a loaded offense. We'll see if he can do some damage in a good spot against Kansas City in Week 6.
Phillip Dorsett scores in win over the Dolphins.
Dorsett caught four passes for 55 yards, including a highlight nine-yard touchdown grab that ended with a somersault. The acquisition of Josh Gordon seemed to knock the former first-round pick out of the receiver rotation for New England, but Dorsett might have shown enough to get significant run on the outside with Julian Edelman returning this week. The speedster will look to make an impact against his former team on Thursday night when the Colts come to Foxborough, but it might be best to see how the wideouts rotate for the Pats with everyone in the lineup.
Phillip Dorsett held without a reception in 26-10 loss against the Lions.
Dorsett was targeted early with a contested drop that would have gone for no gain and then a misfire by Tom Brady on a would-be first down. Later, he had no chance of making a play on the ball as the target on Tom Brady’s deep interception. The speedster should bounce back in Week 4 with a start against the Dolphins before Julian Edelman teams up with Josh Gordon alongside Chris Hogan in the starting lineup.
Update: Phillip Dorsett is back in the game.
It looked like a potentially serious injury for Dorsett, but thankfully he's back in the game with under two minutes to go. New England appears to be just running the clock out, though.
Phillip Dorsett leaves game with apparent leg injury.
On a deep ball attempt on fourth-and-long with the Patriots down two possessions, Dorsett immediately went down and grabbed his knee area. It's unclear where Dorsett was injured, but hopefully it's not too serious. His night is probably over, though. Dorsett had no catches before leaving, but he was targeted on a deep ball in double coverage that was intercepted, and Tom Brady missed him open over the middle early in the game. Overall, it just wasn't a good game for the Patriots.
Phillip Dorsett catches five passes against the Jaguars.
Dorsett was targeted seven times in the Week 2 loss, gaining 44 yards on his five receptions. He was again a reliable target for Tom Brady, showing good hands and route running to make himself available. Dorsett could've had a big game if not for a missed deep ball by Brady, as Dorsett was open down the right sideline after a good release at the line of scrimmage. Dorsett has FLEX appeal for Week 3 against the Lions.
Phillip Dorsett scores in Week 1 victory.
Dorsett carried his solid preseason over into a very good Week 1 performance for the Patriots, as he caught all seven targets for 66 yards and a touchdown against the Texans. Dorsett caught a couple of deep out routes while showing good feet near the sideline, and he also showed some nifty moves on a quick smoke route that got the ball in his hands. The touchdown was a four-yarder on an out-breaking route in the end zone. Overall, Dorsett did an excellent job as a top-two receiver for Tom Brady, and he has the look of someone that should be picked up in fantasy leagues if he wasn't already. That said, he has an extremely difficult matchup with Jacksonville in Week 2.
Phillip Dorsett has spent some time in the slot to start Patriots training camp.
With Julian Edelman (suspension) out the first four games of the season, New England is going to need someone to step up into a bigger role to start the year. Dorsett has typically been an outside deep threat his first three NFL season between the Colts and Patriots, in part because of his 4.3 speed; but says he feels he can do it and feels "comfortable playing any position on the field on any portion of the field." It's also worth noting that former Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola told NBC Sports Boston's Mike Giardi last season that there's nothing the former first-round pick can't to, and that "he'll get there" into Tom Brady's "trust tree" at some point. While Dorsett didn't put up solid numbers last season (12 receptions for 194 yards), he seemingly made plays whenever he was given opportunities—his presence could be a reason the Pats felt comfortable trading Brandin Cooks to the Rams. Sleepers are harder to come by with the way fantasy football is today, but Dorsett looks like he might be one for 2018.
The Patriots did not pick up the fifth-year option for Phillip Dorsett.
New England acquired Dorsett in the Jacoby Brissett trade last season, and the former first-round pick made plays when his number was called, but it was not expected that the Pats would pick up his option. The Patriots have a very deep receiving group, and Dorsett will be competing for a role in it ahead of free agency in 2019.
Phillip Dorsett catches one pass in Super Bowl LII.
Dorsett took many of Brandin Cooks' snaps when Cooks went down with a head injury in the first half, catching one pass for 19 yards. Dorsett probably needs to be somewhere other than the stacked receivers group in New England to have fantasy value in 2018.
Phillip Dorsett makes big catch in the AFC Championship Game.
Dorsett is the fourth wide receiver for the Patriots and didn't get much time in the game, but he took advantage with a huge 31-yard reception on a flea-flicker late in the game. It was Dorsett's only reception of the game, but it was an excellent catch where he went up in tight coverage. Guys making plays like that when their number is called is really great to see, and Dorsett will now get to play in the Super Bowl in a couple of weeks.
Phillip Dorsett catches three passes in Patriots' win.
Dorsett gained 26 yards on his three receptions in the Week 17 victory against the Jets, but he did have a drop on a perfect deep ball. The first regular season for Dorsett in New England ends with 12 receptions for 194 yards, and he'll look to make some big plays throughout the playoffs for the Pats.
Phillip Dorsett catches 39-yard pass in Week 12 win.
It was his only reception of the game. Dorsett isn't a fantasy option, but he might be the rare wide-receiver handcuff for Brandin Cooks. That said, he's probably better left on the waiver wire in redraft leagues.
Phillip Dorsett catches both targets in Week 10.
Dorsett drew the start with Chris Hogan (shoulder) out, and he appeared to play most of the snaps opposite Brandin Cooks. Dorsett gained 16 yards on his two receptions, including once catch where he did a nice job securing it while going to the ground. The former first-rounder could be a FLEX option if Chris Hogan is out against in Week 11 against the Raiders, but there might be safer options out there.
Phillip Dorsett catches one pass in Week 4.
Dorsett made a very good diving catch for a 17-yard reception on his only reception of the game. Dorsett is a contributor to the Pats in real life, but he's not a reliable fantasy option right now.
Phillip Dorsett (knee) is active for the Patriots.
Dorsett was expected to be ready for the game, and he is. He'll be the fourth receiver for the Pats, but Dorsett could make some big plays for the team. However, he's not yet a reliable fantasy option and is a risky fantasy play against the Texans.
Patriots WR Phillip Dorsett (knee) was limited in practice today.
This is a good first step for Dorsett, who left Sunday's win against New Orleans, to be ready for Sunday against the Texans. Hopefully he's able to get up to a full participant for tomorrow or Friday.
Phillip Doresett (knee) is questionable to return for the Patriots in Week 2.
Dorsett left the game in the fourth quarter and there's not much time left, so his day might be done. Hopefully he's OK, especially with New England getting very thin at receiver (they had three active for today's game). Dorsett was a nice target for Tom Brady today, catching three passes for 68 yards including a long of 38 yards that he was tackled inside the five-yard line on.
Phillip Dorsett plays in opening game of the season.
After Danny Amendola left the game with a head injury, the Patriots' newly-acquired receiver got some time in the game. Tom Brady did target Dorsett on a deep ball, but he was under pressure and they couldn't connect. Dorsett might work his way into more playing time, but for now he's clearly the fourth receiver behind Brandin Cooks, Chris Hogan, and Danny Amendola.
Phillip Dorsett is active for the Patriots.
Less than a week after being acquired from the Colts for quarterback Jacoby Brissett, Dorsett is out there for the NFL's 2017 kickoff game. Malcolm Mitchell (knee) being sent to IR means Dorsett is at least the number four receiver for New England tonight. He has some major boom potential, but it's extremely risky to put him in your fantasy lineup.
Colts and Patriots swap Dorsett for Brissett.
This is a bit of a surprise, as the Colts trade their 2015 first-round pick WR Philip Dorsett to the Patriots for New England's 2016 third-round pick QB Jacoby Brissett, according to multiple reports (first reported by Field Yates). After new Colts GM Chris Ballard stepped in, there was speculation that Dorsett could be on his way out (especially after the Colts signed Kamar Aiken). Meanwhile, New England turned their third string quarterback into a potential playmaking receiver after the loss of Julian Edelman. Dorsett probably isn't going to step right in and get a lot of playing time for the Pats, but he's someone to keep an eye on for sure.
Phillip Dorsett leads the Colts in receiving in Week 3 of the preseason.
Dorsett caught three-of-four targets for 60 yards in a performance he needed. The third-year receiver showed his speed and also went up to get a ball on a go route. With Chester Rogers still out with a hamstring injury, the former first-rounder Dorsett appears to be in a good position for a starting role next to T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncrief.
Phillip Dorsett caught two passes for 15 yards in the Colts' preseason loss to the Cowboys.
Dorsett is competing for the team's third receiver job, but even if he wins it, not much fantasy value should come out of it. A trade candidate heading into the regular season, a change of scenery would probably be the best thing for Dorsett's fantasy value and career.
WR Phillip Dorsett is back practicing for the Colts.
The third-year receiver missed a few practices with a hamstring injury, but he's back and expects to play in the team's second preseason game this Saturday, according to the IndyStar. Dorsett, Chester Rogers, and Kamar Aiken are all competing for the number three spot behind top two receivers T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncrief. These next couple weeks of practices and preseasons games are huge for Dorsett if he wants to have a big role this season. Even if he does win the job, the former first-round pick might not deliver much fantasy value behind Hilton and Moncrief, though.
Philip Dorsett has missed a few practices with a hamstring injury, according to the Indy Star's Zac Keefer.
Keefer said it's the "same thing that held him out in minicamp." Dorsett is battling a couple guys for the third wide receiver spot behind T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncrief, and missing valuable time in training camp is obviously not a good sign for his chances. Even if he can win the job, the former first-round pick would likely need an injury to Hilton or Moncrief to be fantasy relevant in 2017, especially if Andrew Luck (shoulder) is slow getting back on the field.
Phillip Dorsett is working to become "a more complete player."
The 2015 first rounder will not have a starting job locked in after the Colts brought in former Ravens receiver Kamar Aiken during free agency, so he has to play well to be one of Andrew Luck's primary receivers. Dorsett knows this is a "big year" for him, entering his third season with a new GM running things. Dorsett says he took his body "to another level this offseason." Dorsett will have to battle for a lot of playing time, but he could break out in his third season in the league.
Phillip Dorsett catches all four Week 17 targets.
Dorsett had four receptions for 56 yards against Jacksonville. He finishes his second season with 33 catches for 528 yards and two touchdowns, but did average 16.0 yards per reception. Some people thought he might have a breakout season, but it didn't quite happen. There's certainly a possibility it happens next season, and he's worth a flyer in the late rounds of 2017 fantasy drafts.
Dorsett catches 50-yard touchdown against the Vikings.
He made the most of his one target in the game. The Vikings played terribly against the Coots, and Dorsett took advantage with a long TD. He's not a good FLEX against Oakland in fantasy championships.
Dorsett sees nine targets in loss to Texans.
He turned them into just three catches for 19 yards. Dorsett isn't a fantasy option unless something happens to T.Y. Hilton. That's especially true next week against Minnesota.
Dorsett draws long pass interference penalty in win.
The second-year wideout rushed once for seven yards, and didn't have a catch, but was interfered with on a potential deep touchdown pass as he had a linebacker on him. Dorsett isn't a fantasy option with T.Y. Hilton healthy.
Dorsett drops a touchdown in loss.
He finished with three catches for 31 yards. Dorsett isn't a good fantasy play with T.Y. Hilton healthy, but would step into Hilton's role with an injury. T.Y. did injure his back last night, but he should be good to go for Week 13.
Phillip Dorsett catches 50-yard pass in Colts Week 11 win.
It was Dorsett’s only catch of the game. Dorsett isn’t a great fantasy option at this moment. He can be on your league’s waiver wire. He has the potential to become a good fantasy option in the coming years, however.
