The Niners will not pick up Pierre Garcon’s option, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
The veteran receiver has struggled to stay healthy the last couple of seasons, so this isn’t a surprise. Garcon would’ve had a $6 million cap hit if he remained in San Francisco, so this frees some money as the team looks to get younger at the position. As a very tough, all-around receiver, the 32-year-old Garcon should draw solid interest as a free agent.
Pierre Garcon (knee) has been placed on injured reserve.
Garcon has been out for over a month, and his season is now over. The veteran finishes his age-32 campaign with 24 receptions, 286 yards, and one touchdown. The 49ers love his leadership, but it’d probably be a surprise if Garcon was back in 2019 without a contract restructure.
Pierre Garcon (knee) is inactive for Week 12.
Garcon remains week-to-week with his knee injury, even off the bye week.
Pierre Garcon (knee) has been ruled out for tonight's game.
Garcon continues to battle through his knee injury, and he's out of the lineup tonight after not practicing all week. Consider the veteran wide receiver week-to-week for now.
Pierre Garcon scores against the Raiders.
Garcon caught Nick Mullens' first-career touchdown in the second-year quarterback's first NFL action, as the veteran receiver got wide-open on a deep crossing route off a play-action pass. Overall, Garcon had three receptions for 56 yards and a touchdown in the Week 9 win. Next week, the Giants will likely play better defense than the Raiders did tonight, so be careful not to chase the points with Garcon in Week 10 fantasy lineups.
Pierre Garcon (shoulder, knee) is officially active tonight.
The veteran receiver is back in the lineup after missing one game, but he's not a recommended fantasy option with second-year quarterback Nick Mullens making his first career start.
Pierre Garcon (shoulder, knee) is officially listed as questionable for tomorrow night.
Garcon looks like he has a good shot to return to the lineup after missing one game, but his status will be known about 90 minutes before kickoff tomorrow. The veteran receiver won't be a highly-recommended fantasy option if active.
Pierre Garcon (shoulder, knee) has been ruled out for Week 8.
Garcon did not make the trip to San Francisco and has been declared out. He was listed as doubtful, so this was expected. Meanwhile, rookie receiver Dante Pettis is returning for the lineup for the first time in nearly a month and is a solid option in deeper leagues.
Pierre Garcon (shoulder, knee) is officially doubtful for Week 8.
This was fully expected. Expect the veteran receiver to be inactive on Sunday, but he wouldn't be a recommended fantasy option if he suits up against the Cardinals.
Pierre Garcon (shoulder, knee) did not practice today.
Garcon is considered doubtful for Week 8, so expect him to be listed as either that or out when the official injury report is released tomorrow.
Pierre Garcon catches one pass against the Rams.
Garcon gained five yards on his lone reception in the Week 7 loss. The veteran receiver isn't a recommended fantasy option, especially considering he's at less than 100% while dealing with injuries.
Pierre Garcon (shoulder, knee) is officially active for Week 7.
The veteran receiver was again listed as questionable, but there wasn’t much doubt he’d be out there today against the Rams. Garcon is a risky fantasy option for Week 7.
Pierre Garcon (shoulder, knee) is listed as questionable for Week 7.
It'll probably be the same situation as last week, with the veteran receiver toughing out his injuries to play. However, Garcon isn't a highly-recommended fantasy option against the Rams on Sunday.
Pierre Garcon catches four passes against Green Bay.
The veteran receiver gained 37 yards on his four receptions in tonight's loss. Garcon's stand-out play was on an outlet pass in the flat where he made Clay Matthews miss to get the first down. Garcon continues to work as a clear starter for the Niners, but he's not a highly-recommended fantasy option right now.
Pierre Garcon (knee, shoulder) is active for Week 6.
Garcon was fully expected to tough it out and play tonight against the Packers, and he is indeed. Garcon isn't a highly-recommended FLEX option in fantasy lineups, but it wouldn't be surprising if he has a solid game in a matchup the Niners might need to score a lot in.
Pierre Garcon (shoulder, knee) is listed as questionable for Week 6.
Garcon was able to get up to a limited practice after he was a non-participant the last two days. We expect he'll tough it out and be out there on Monday night against Green Bay, but it's no lock. The veteran receiver isn't a highly-recommended fantasy option even if he is active, though.
Pierre Garcon (shoulder, knee) misses second straight practice.
The veteran receiver's status is in major doubt after two straight missed practices, but we'll see how he's listed when the official injury report for Monday's game is released sometime tomorrow.
Pierre Garcon (shoulder, knee) did not practice today.
It's the first official practice of the week for the Niners, as the team plays on Monday night. We'll track the veteran receiver's practice status the next two days, but we expect he'll tough it out against the Packers.
Pierre Garcon gets 12 targets in Week 5.
Garcon, who briefly left the game with a shoulder injury, caught five passes for 47 yards against the Cardinals. The 12 targets are obviously a major positive for Garcon, and he'll be a low-upside FLEX option if he keeps getting a good number of looks in the passing game. The shoulder injury doesn't seem like much of a concern after he returned to the game.
Pierre Garcon (shoulder) is back in the game for the Niners.
Garcon still appears to be in pain, but he's a tough player and is back for his team. Despite the injury, Garcon could be heavily-targeted for the rest of the game.
Pierre Garcon (shoulder) is questionable to return against the Cardinals.
Garcon left the game and was in obvious pain on the sideline, but hopefully it's not too serious that he can't return to today's game. We'll update you as more informant becomes available.
Pierre Garcon catches four passes in Week 4.
Garcon gained 52 yards on his four receptions (seven targets) against the Chargers. The veteran receiver is on pace for 44 receptions, 564 yards, and no touchdowns through four games, but he'll look to up all those totals (particularly receptions and yardage) moving forward. Garcon doesn't need to be owned in fantasy leagues right now, though.
Pierre Garcon catches one pass in Week 3.
Garcon gained 11 yards on his lone reception, but Jimmy Garoppolo missed him on a wide-open crossing route that might have been a huge gain. Garcon has a tough matchup with the Chargers in Week 4.
Pierre Garcon leads team in receiving with Marquise Goodwin inactive.
Garcon caught four passes for 57 yards in the 30-27 win over the Lions. Overall, it was a low-volume passing attack with Jimmy Garoppolo throwing it just 26 times for 206 yards, but Garcon also made an impact as a blocker—which shouldn't be surprising—on Matt Breida's 66-yard touchdown run. The veteran gets a great matchup in Week 3 against Kansas City, so he should at least be a quality FLEX option whether or not Goodwin returns.
Pierre Garcon catches two passes in Niners' loss.
Garcon gained 21 yards on his two receptions (six targets), frequently getting targeted on throws over the middle while having to contend with Minnesota's top-notch corners. The veteran receiver has a solid role as a crosser in Kyle Shanahan's offense, and he'll have a better matchup in Week 2 against the Lions. He'll offer more upside if Marquise Goodwin (groin) remains out after getting injured.
Pierre Garcon is out for the season with a neck injury.
49ers GM John Lynch just said on KNBR radio that Garcon will be sent to Injured Reserve, so his season is over. Garcon suffered a neck injury in last Sunday's game against the Eagles, but it wasn't known to be this serious. It's still unclear what the exact injury is, but hopefully it's not too serious and Garcon can be 100% and ready to go in 2018—likely with new quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo under center. Garcon's season ends with 40 receptions for 500 yards and no touchdowns in eight games (though he sat out most of the Week 8 game while dealing with this season-ending injury).
Pierre Garcon (neck) did not practice today.
After sitting out the end of the game against the Eagles on Sunday, it's not surprising that Garcon wasn't on the practice field today. We'll update you on his practice status tomorrow and Friday, but expect Garcon to be listed as questionable at the end of the week ahead of Sunday's matchup with Arizona.
Pierre Garcon leaves game with neck injury.
It's early in the fourth quarter, and Garcon has been declared questionable to return. Down by 20 points, his day might be done, which is a shame with a prime opportunity to rack up some late-game fantasy points. Before leaving, Garcon had only two receptions for 17 yards. The veteran receiver will be more of a FLEX option in Week 9 because of the tough matchup with the Cardinals.
Pierre Garcon caught five passes for 49 yards in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys.
Garcon didn't play much late in the game because it was a blowout, or else he might have had a little bit better numbers. The veteran should be better against the Eagles next Sunday, and will be a low-end WR2/FLEX option in standard leagues, with increased value in PPR leagues.
Pierre Garcon gets 12 targets in Week 6.
Garcon caught five passes for 55 yards against the Redskins, including another spectacular sideline catch of a tipped ball. The veteran receiver has a new quarterback, with rookie C.J. Beathard taking over for Brian Hoyer, but he should still be a target monster and a solid weekly fantasy option. He should be in lineups almost every week in PPR leagues.
Pierre Garcon plays very well in Week 5.
Garcon started off hot against his former team in Indianapolis, catching all seven first-half targets and gaining 81 yards. He was slowed down in the second half, however, and ended up with eight receptions (on 11 targets) for 94 yards in the game. Facing a Washington secondary without Josh Norman in Week 6, Garcon might be able to replicate his performance next Sunday.
Pierre Garcon held to four catches for 36 in battle with Patrick Peterson.
Garcon is such a great competitor, so he won some plays, but it's no surprise that Peterson held him in check. Things get much easier in Week 5 against the Colts. Garcon is on pace for 80 catches for 1,140 yards, but he's yet to find the end zone in 2017.
Pierre Garcon plays excellent game in Week 3.
Garcon had a difficult matchup, facing off with Rams cornerback Trumaine Johnson for most of the night, but he had a huge game for the Niners, catches seven of ten targets for 142 yards. Garcon made some unbelievable catches and picked up some huge chunk plays throughout the entire game. He made quite a few highlights in the game, but his best play was probably on a 59-yard reception where he got behind Trumaine Johnson and stretched his arms out to reach and snag a deep ball from Brian Hoyer. In Week 4, Garcon has a tough task facing Patrick Peterson, but he's still in definitely in the FLEX conversation as the number one in Kyle Shanahan's offense.
Pierre Garcon catches three of five targets in Week 2.
Garcon and the passing offense of the 49ers was limited against Seattle. He had 26 yards on his three receptions, which actually accounted for over 25% of the passing yardage for the 49ers. Garcon should have a much easier time in Week 3 against the Rams on Thursday night.
Pierre Garcon gets ten Week 1 targets.
Garcon had six receptions for 81 yards in his 49ers debut versus the Panthers. He looks the same as usual, flashing strong hands at the point of catch and running back-like ability after the catch. Garcon offers a high weekly floor in both standard and PPR leagues. He gets Seattle next Sunday, but he's still at least a FLEX option in fantasy lineups.
Pierre Garcon grabs six passes in the 49ers' third preseason game.
Garcon caught six-of-seven targets for 64 yards in the exhibition against Minnesota. It was nice to see the Niners offense moving the ball, with Garcon being a big part of that. Garcon should catch a good amount of passes this season, and he has good upside in addition to his solid floor.
Pierre Garcon caught one pass in the Niners' preseason loss.
It went for 11 yards. Garcon should see a lot of Vikings cornerback Xaiver Rhodes in the regular season dress rehearsal next Saturday, but it will be another good test after facing the Broncos last night. Garcon is a good value pick in fantasy drafts as the lead receiver in Kyle Shanahan's offense.
The 49ers officially signed receiver Pierre Garçon.
Garçon led the league in receptions with Kyle Shanahan as his coordinator in 2013 with the Redskins. He offers a lot of upside as someone that should be heavily targeted in the Redskins offense. HIs only concern is quarterback play, but Brian Hoyer (or whoever the starter is) should be able to get Garçon the ball. He may not be ranked as such, but Garçon won't be a back pick in the first five rounds of 2017 fantasy drafts.
The 49ers and wide receiver Pierre Garçon have agreed to a contract, according to Chris Mortensen.
Mortenson reports that Garçon may make $16 million in the first year of the deal. It makes sense, because the 49ers have a lot of cap space, so they'll get some of the big money to Garçon while they have all this space. The deal cannot become official until tomorrow, but it looks like Garçon will be a 49er. New Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan was Garçon's offensive coordinator for two seasons with the Redskins, and Garçon will actually will offer a lot of upside as the Niners number one receiver.
Pierre Garçon requested a trade from the Redskins last season, according to Chad Dukes.
Dukes had reported this, and Mike Garafolo just confirmed it on his Twitter. Garafolo said the issue was "put to bed" by the Redskins early in the year. Washington likely told Garçon that he is under contract and would not be granted a trade. Recently, Garçon has made it clear he expects to get paid for his production, and there has been talk that he hasn't had discussions with the Redskins about a new contract. Garçon will likely be on a new team in 2017; he is among the top receivers available in free agency.
Pierre Garcon plays great, but Redskins lose to the Giants.
Garcon had four catches for 96 yards for the Redskins in their season finale. He ends the year with 79 receptions for 1,041 yards and three touchdowns. Garcon is a free agent, but as a reliable target for Kirk Cousins, the Redskins should at least entertain bringing him back. DeSean Jackson is also a free agent, but will likely command more money than Garcon. 2016 first rounder Josh Doctson is also waiting in the wings.
Pierre Garcon keeps up consistency.
Garcon had four catches for 94 yards against the Bears. He and DeSean Jackson have both been great targets for quarterback Kirk Cousins lately, and they'll look to keep it going in Week 17 against New York. Garcon is a FLEX/WR2 option in that game.
Pierre Garcon leads Redskins in Week 15 targets.
Garcon caught seven-of-eleven targets for 78 yards against the Panthers. He also may have had a sideline catch on a key drive late in the game, but it was ruled incomplete and not challenged by the Redskins. Garcon will remain a high-floor FLEX option next week against Chicago.
Pierre Garcon catches five passes for 59 yards and a touchdown against the Eagles.
He was a reliable target for Kirk Cousins on Sunday, as he also had a very key fourth-down conversion to keep the Redskins alive at the end of the game. The touchdown was on a perfect 16-yard pass in the endzone to Garcon after he beat Eagles corner Nolan Carroll. Garcon has been very good recently, and is at least a FLEX option next week against Carolina.
Pierre Garçon caught seven-of-nine targets 78 yards in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals.
Garçon led the Redskins in receiving and has been a reliable option all year for Kirk Cousins. The veteran could have another nice game against Philadelphia in Week 14.
Garcon catches four passes for 43 yards in Week 12.
After two straight great weeks, Garcon slowed a bit in Week 12. He'll be an OK FLEX option in Week 13 against the Cardinals, assuming he doesn't draw Patrick Peterson in coverage.
Pierre Garcon caught six passes for 116 yards and one touchdown in Sunday night’s win over Green Bay.
The highlight was a 70-yard touchdown in the 4th quarter on a perfect pass from Kirk Cousins through the wind. Garcon has just two touchdowns this season, but has gone for 6/67/0, 6/81/0, and 6/116/1 in the past three games. He will be a decent FLEX option on Thanksgiving versus the Cowboys.
Garcon catches six passes for second consecutive week.
He had six catches for 81 yards against the Vikings. Garcon has seen an increase in production since DeSean Jackson has been hurt, but he's not really a great FLEX option right now. He can be left on the waiver wire.
