The Vikings are re-signing Sean Mannion.
Mannion is returning on a one-year deal, and it will be interesting to see what this means for 2021 third-round pick Kellen Mond under a new regime. If they only keep two quarterbacks, Mannion could be the favorite to stay behind Kirk Cousins as the No. 2, so it wouldn't be a surprise if Mond was a potential trade candidate for teams looking for a developmental option at the position.

Sean Mannion has been removed from the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Mannion will start on Sunday night in place of Kirk Cousins, and he should at least get a practice in today after being out all week. Especially considering the frigid temperatures, we wouldn't recommended Mannion as a strong Superflex option.

Sean Mannion has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Dalvin Cook is on the list and will be out ten days as an unvaccinated player, so Minnesota is surely hoping Kirk Cousins—also said to be unvaccinated—isn't eventually a positive. For today, though, Cousins is good to go, and he should be backed up by third-round pick Kellen Mond for a huge game against the Rams.

The Vikings re-signed Sean Mannion.
Mannion will continue backing up Kirk Cousins in 2020, but he's not a recommended hold in dynasty leagues.

The Vikings are signing Sean Mannion, according to Mike Garafolo.
Mannion, a third-round pick of the Rams in 2015, spent four seasons in St. Louis/Los Angeles, but the franchise signed Blake Bortles to backup Jared Goff earlier this offseason. Now, the soon-to-be 27-year-old will be Minnesota's No. 2 quarterback (barring a possible draft pick), which could potentially lead to fantasy value on an offense with two top-flight receivers.

Sean Mannion, Rams backups lose 34-13 to the Niners.
Mannion was 20/34 for 169 yards in the season finale. Jared Goff's backup closes out the regular season with 185 yards, zero touchdowns, zero interceptions. He'll move back into the #2 role in a potential playoff run for Los Angeles.
1/1/18 - 11:08 AM ET
Sean Mannion was 15/22 for 132 yards and one touchdown in the Rams preseason win over the Raiders.
The touchdown was actually a game-winner in the fourth quarter to give Los Angeles a three-point victory. Mannion will be the #2 for Sean McVay and the Rams in 2017.
8/20/17 - 12:54 PM ET
Sean Mannion was 18/25 for 144 yards in Saturday night's win over Dallas.
Mannion came into the game after Jared Goff threw four passes and the first-team scored a touchdown. The former third-round pick absolutely isn't going to unseat Goff as the starter, even if Rams legend Eric Dickerson wants it to happen. Los Angeles will play the Raiders next Saturday.
