WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Seth DeValve | Panthers TE

The Panthers signed Seth DeValve.

DeValve will likely work in tandem with Ian Thomas in Carolina's offense, but he's not a recommended dynasty league hold in standard-sized leagues at the moment.

Seth DeValve | Panthers TE

The Jaguars have claimed Seth DeValve.

Jacksonville currently has Geoff Swaim and third-round rookie Josh Oliver atop the depth chart, so he will likely slide in as the No. 3 or No. 4 option at the position.

Seth DeValve | Panthers TE

Seth DeValve catches one pass in Week 16 win.

It went for one yard. DeValve isn't a recommended fantasy option behind David Njoku.

Seth DeValve | Panthers TE

Seth DeValve catches 19-yard pass in Week 13 loss.

It was his only catch of the game. DeValve isn't a recommended fantasy option behind David Njoku.

Seth DeValve | Panthers TE

Seth DeValve scores in Week 8.

DeValve caught a 24-yard touchdown late in the game, and overall he had two receptions for 28 yards and the touchdown. This was DeValve's first touchdown of the season, and he's off the fantasy radar right now.

Seth DeValve | Panthers TE

Seth DeValve catches one pass in Week 5.

DeValve's lone reception went for 26 yards. It was DeValve's first reception of the season since returning from injury, and he's not on the fantasy radar.

Seth DeValve | Panthers TE

Seth DeValve (hamstring) is officially inactive for tonight's game.

DeValve also missed Week 2. Perhaps the mini bye after this Thursday night game will give DeValve enough time to heal for Week 4.

Seth DeValve | Panthers TE

Seth DeValve (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 2.

Cleveland just decided to rule out DeValve, Josh Gordon, and Christian Kirksey today instead of waiting for tomorrow. DeValve was not on the fantasy radar for Week 2.

Seth DeValve | Panthers TE

Seth DeValve gets four targets in Week 16.

DeValve caught three passes for 12 yards in a loss to the Bears. He's not on the fantasy radar at the moment.

Seth DeValve | Panthers TE

Seth DeValve caught two passes for 32 yards in Sunday's loss to the Ravens.

DeValve can be ignored in all fantasy leagues for the 0-14 Browns. They face Chicago on Christmas Eve.

Seth DeValve | Panthers TE

Seth DeValve catches two passes in Week 14.

DeValve gained 16 yards on his two receptions, and he's not a fantasy option right now.

Seth DeValve | Panthers TE

Seth DeValve catches two passes in Week 13.

DeValve gained 33 yards on his two receptions, including a long reception of 25 yards. He's difficult to trust in fantasy lineups, despite his real-life contributions to his team.

Seth DeValve | Panthers TE

Seth DeValve makes 24-yard catch in Week 12 loss.

He also caught another pass for nine yards, finishing with two receptions for 33 yards. The second-year tight end isn't a fantasy option as he splits time with David Njoku. Cleveland heads to LA to take on the Chargers next Sunday.

Seth DeValve | Panthers TE

Seth DeValve catches one pass against the Jaguars.

DeValve gained five yards on his one reception (three targets). He doesn't need to be on fantasy rosters at the moment.

Seth DeValve | Panthers TE

Seth DeValve leads team in receiving, but loses crucial fumble in loss to the Lions.

DeValve caught four passes for 70 yards, including a long of 35 yards, while rookie tight end David Njoku was held to just three yards. However, the fumble DeValve lost was returned for a touchdown at the end of the first half, which gave the Lions a 17-10 lead. We would consider Njoku the better fantasy option for the rest of the season, including next week against the Jaguars.

Seth DeValve | Panthers TE

Seth DeValve catches one pass in Week 8.

He caught a pass in the flat that was immediately stopped by Minnesota and went for no yards. DeValve is not a fantasy option right now.

Seth DeValve | Panthers TE

Seth DeValve caught two passes for 27 yards in Sunday's loss to the Titans.

DeValve continues to split time with David Njoku, and they will do the same in Week 8 against Baltimore. Despite being a young player himself, DeValve could see less playing time so Njoku can stay on the field more for the 0-7 Browns. He's not a fantasy option next week against the Vikings.

Seth DeValve | Panthers TE

Seth DeValve scores in loss to the Texans.

DeValve caught two passes for nine yards, including a three-yard score in the fourth quarter. Splitting time with David Njoku, DeValve is only an unreliable fantasy option in good matchups.

Seth DeValve | Panthers TE

Seth DeValve caught three passes for 24 yards in Sunday's loss to the Jets.

DeValve caught the same number of passes as David Njoku, but the rookie made more of his with 48 yards and a spectacular score. DeValve can stay on the waiver wire.

Seth DeValve | Panthers TE

Set DeValve catches one pass in Week 4.

DeValve had two-yard reception on four targets in the game. He's not a reliable fantasy option right now.

Seth DeValve | Panthers TE

Seth DeValve catches two passes in Week 3.

DeValve had 29 yards on his two receptions. He's had a 20+ yard reception in each of the first three games, but there are better tight end options out there for now.

Seth DeValve | Panthers TE

Seth DeValve caught two passes for 61 yards in Sunday's loss to Baltimore.

DeValve is now averaging 17.2 yards per reception through two games. The Princeton graduate gets the Colts next, and another solid performance will put him on the radar for those in deeper leagues or fantasy owners desperate at tight end.

Seth DeValve | Panthers TE

Seth DeValve caught four passes for 42 yards in Sunday's loss to the Steelers.

DeValve got the start and was second on the team in catches and yards behind wideout Corey Coleman. The 24-year-old isn't a recommended fantasy option next week against Baltimore.

Seth DeValve | Panthers TE

DeValve catches two passes for 14 yards in Thursday night's preseason game.

He started the game but played longer than most of the other starters. DeValve will likely work in tandem with first-round pick David Njoku this season, but the rookie is the the clear preferred fantasy option.

Seth DeValve | Panthers TE

Seth DeValve "appears to have a significant role in Cleveland's offense."

Andrew Gribble of the teams' official site wrote this when asked how much the tight end might be involved in the offense this season. DeValve is heading into his second season, and the hype has been there this offseason as he reportedly made a ton of plays. Cleveland drafted the talented David Njoku of Miami in the first round of the draft, but DeValve looks like he'll certainly get a lot of playing time for the team. Hue Jackson likes using multiple tight end sets, so Njoku and DeValve could be a dangerous combo on offense. DeValve could offer solid touchdown potential, but his yardage is probably limited with Njoku (and Randall Teller) in the mix.

Seth DeValve | Panthers TE

Second-year tight end Seth DeValve put on a "clinic" during offseason practice.

Not an actual clinic—just a lot of plays. Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal wrote that DeValve is "bigger, faster, and stronger" than last season and that he might be the most improved player this year. Hue Jackson noted DeValve as an "emerging player" earlier in the offseason, and DeValve has gotten solid reviews through the spring. The Browns drafted Miami tight end David Njoku in the first round of the draft, but DeValve might end up being the starter to open the year. He's someone to keep an eye on throughout the preseason as a potential breakout candidate.

Princeton rookie DeValve scores first career TD in Browns loss.

DeValve got behind the defense and was wide open on a corner route for an easy 25-yard touchdown for his only catch of the game. It was the Browns' lone score of the game. DeValve isn't a fantasy option, but good for him scoring his first career touchdown.
