WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Tommylee Lewis | Panthers WR

The Panthers signed Tommylee Lewis.

Both Panthers quarterback Teddy Bridgewater and offensive coordinator Joe Brady know Lewis when all three were together with the Saints in 2018. Lewis can provide dynamic ability as a speedy reserve receiver, but his biggest contributions for Carolina would likely come on special teams this season.

Tommylee Lewis | Panthers WR

The Saints released Tommylee Lewis.

Lewis can contribute on both offense and special teams, and he'll look to land with another squad ahead of the 2020 season. Lewis is probably victim to rosters being trimmed due to COVID-19 containment concerns.

Tommylee Lewis | Panthers WR

The Lions have released Tommylee Lewis.

Lewis should resurface quickly and could potentially see some playing time in a new city, but he’s not on the fantasy radar.

Tommylee Lewis | Panthers WR

The Lions placed Tommylee Lewis on the PUP list.

Lewis was on Injured Reserve for the Saints last season, but he worked his way back as a designated-to-return player, so it's unclear what he's dealing with. The return specialist and situational deep threat can be taken off the PUP list at any time, though.

Tommylee Lewis | Panthers WR

The Lions signed Tommylee Lewis.

The Saints did not tender Lewis, who became an unrestricted free agent. Lewis lands in a nice spot with Detroit, as he'll have an opportunity to carve out a role as a situational deep treat for Matthew Stafford. He'll also contribute on special teams, but he's not on the fantasy radar at the moment.

Tommylee Lewis | Panthers WR

Tommylee Lewis gets one target in NFC Championship Game.

Lewis was involved in the most controversial play of the Saints' conference title game loss to the Rams, as he was targeted on a third down with under two minutes remaining and looked to have been clearly interfered with, but no flag was thrown. A completion or a penalty would've allowed the Saints to run out the clock and set up a game-winning field goal attempt as time expired, but instead the Rams were able to get a field goal of their own and force overtime before eventually winning the game. Lewis isn't currently a fantasy option and doesn't need to be owned in standard-sized dynasty leagues.

Tommylee Lewis | Panthers WR

Tommylee Lewis handles two touches in loss to the Panthers.

Lewis rushed once for six yards and added a 12-yard reception. The 26-year-old had just five touches in the regular season, but we'll see if he makes an impact next month.

Tommylee Lewis | Panthers WR

Tommylee Lewis gets one offensive touch in Week 15.

Lewis received a jet-sweep handoff with the Saints attempting to run out the clock late in the game, and he took it for four yards before getting hit and fumbling out of the end zone for a touchback while trying to extend for a touchdown. It was a mistake by Lewis, but his defense made a stop and bailed him out as the Saints completed a good team win. Lewis is not a recommended fantasy option at the moment.

Tommylee Lewis | Panthers WR

Tommylee Lewis catches one pass in Week 14.

Lewis gained 20 yards on his lone reception against the Buccaneers. The speedy receiver probably needs a score to deliver fantasy value, so he's not a highly-recommended option in Week 15 against the Panthers.

Tommylee Lewis | Panthers WR

Tommylee Lewis catches 28-yard touchdown in win over the Falcons.

It was Lewis' first catch of the season and his only grab of the game. The five-foot-seven speedster won't be a highly recommended fantasy option in Week 13 against the Cowboys.

Tommylee Lewis | Panthers WR

The Saints promoted Tommylee Lewis to the 53-man roster.

The final Week 12 injury report has not been released yet, but this could be bad news for Tre'Quan Smith as he deals with a foot injury. Lewis isn't a recommended fantasy pickup, as he'll likely help the Saints more in real life than in fantasy lineups.

Tommylee Lewis | Panthers WR

Tommylee Lewis handles one offensive touch in win over the Panthers.

It was a rush for negative-four yards on a third-down conversion attempt early in the game. Lewis handled punts after that. He will look to make some plays next Sunday against Minnesota's elite defense in the NFC Divisional Round.

Tommylee Lewis | Panthers WR

Tommylee Lewis scores against Atlanta.

Lewis scored a 26-yard touchdown on a go route that appeared to be run against a cover-2 defense, as he caught it up the sideline and made Falcons safety Keanu Neal miss before diving into the end zone. Lewis had two receptions (two targets) for 30 yards and a touchdown in the game. It's good to see the 2016 undrafted player step up and make plays, but his role simply isn't big enough to be a recommended fantasy option.

Tommylee Lewis | Panthers WR

Tommylee Lewis catches lone target in Week 4.

Lewis had a one-yard reception in the London game against the Dolphins, but that was it. He contribute to the Saints in real life, but he's not a reliable fantasy option yet.

Tommylee Lewis | Panthers WR

Tommylee Lewis caught three passes for 15 yards in Sunday's win over Carolina.

He also rushed once for eight yards. On a loaded offense with Willie Snead returning in Week 4, Lewis isn't a fantasy option.

Tommylee Lewis | Panthers WR

Tommylee Lewis catches 52-yard pass in Week 1.

The young receiver had two receptions, gaining zero yards on his other catch. The 52-yarder was a on a perfect go-route throw by Drew Brees, and it would've been a touchdown if Trae Waynes didn't make a nice play to trip up Lewis after he caught it. Tommylee also was targeted on a shot to the end zone by Brees, but it was just slightly out of his reach. Lewis isn't a starting fantasy option right now, but he's someone to keep an eye on.

Tommylee Lewis | Panthers WR

Tommylee Lewis explodes in preseason opener.

Lewis caught 10 passes for 124 yards, including a beautiful, diving touchdown. The Saints top-three receivers are set with Michael Thomas, Willie Snead, and Ted Ginn, but Tommylee will force his way onto the field if he keeps playing like he did last night.
