WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Tony Pollard | Cowboys RB

Tony Pollard (foot) has been ruled out for Week 18.

Pollard is not traveling to Philadelphia for tomorrow night's game against the Eagles, as the team is presumably getting him as healthy as possible for the start of the postseason. Pollard's regular season ends with 130 carries for 719 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns along with 39 receptions for 337 receiving yards. The 24-year-old was a dynamic complement to Ezekiel Elliott in the Dallas backfield, and many were calling for him to be used more on offense. Pollard remains under contract with the Cowboys through next season.

Tony Pollard (foot) is officially active for Week 15.

Pollard was questionable and a gametime decision again with his torn plantar fascia, but he’s toughing it out and playing after just missing one game with the injury. Pollard might be somewhat limited compared to usual, but he should be a strong complement to Ezekiel Elliott in the Cowboys backfield.

Tony Pollard (foot) is officially inactive for Week 14.

Pollard was trying to make a push to play, but he’s being held out against Washington with the torn plantar fascia. Consider Pollard week-to-week for now.

Tony Pollard (foot) is officially listed as questionable for Week 14.

Pollard was said to be a gametime decision, and this confirms that after he tore his plantar fascia against the Saints in Week 13. We'd say Pollard will probably push through and play versus Washington this week, but check back Sunday morning for his official game status.

Tony Pollard is dealing with a torn plantar fascia.

The injury occurred on his long touchdown run versus the Saints last week, but a full tear is actually good news, and Pollard can play through the injury (he says he'll be a game-time decision). If nothing else, Ezekiel Elliott's outlook might get a slight boost in the midst of struggles with an injury of his own, as Dallas will still lean on him as their clear lead back. Pollard being out against Washington would lead to a role for Corey Clement behind Zeke, but the Cowboys would likely rely more on the passing attack.

Tony Pollard (ankle) is officially inactive for Thursday night.

Pollard didn't practice leading up to tonight's game, so this isn't a surprise. Hopefully the rookie running back is ready to go for Week 15 after the mini bye.

Jerry Jones says rookie Tony Pollard is "capable of... carrying the whole load."

The Cowboys owner hyped up the rookie running back from Memphis after last night's preseason game against the Niners, saying: "I certainly thought he had a good account of himself. He looks confident out there. We know he's inordinately understanding of what he does and can do. We've seen him do it, we know he's capable of, if he really needs to, carrying the whole load." Pollard drew the start for Dallas last night and carried four times for 16 yards, looking the part as someone that could have a big Year 1 role if needed. Pollard has received a lot of hype this summer, and much of it is coming from the Cowboys themselves as they deal with the Ezekiel Elliott hold out. This statement by Jones is another indication that the Cowboys don't plan to budge and give Elliott the contract he's looking for, and Pollard appears to be the main beneficiary if Zeke doesn't report to the team.

The Cowboys have selected Memphis running back Tony Pollard with the No. 128 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Pollard is a slasher and potential long-term backup to Ezekiel Elliott in Dallas. He can also contribute as an explosive kick returner, though he is unlikely to make much of a fantasy impact behind the Cowboys' durable stater. Pollard averaged 7.1 yards per carry last season as a compliment to fellow speedster Darrell Henderson.
