WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee (knee) has been placed on injured reserve.

Higbee will be unable to go on Sunday, so Los Angeles is placing him in IR as they get Darrell Henderson (knee) back. Look for Matthew Stafford to mostly lean on the trio of Cooper Kupp, Odell Beckham Jr., and Van Jefferson in Super Bowl LVI.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee avoided a significant knee injury, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Rapoport says Higbee appears to have avoided significant damage to his knee after leaving yesterday's game against the 49ers, but his status will be up in the air for Super Bowl LVI. Higbee will have two weeks to heal up as he looks to face the Bengals on February 13. The veteran tight end would probably do well to be a game-time decision heading into the Super Bowl.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee (knee) ruled out for the remainder of the game.

This isn’t a surprise based on how Higbee left the field in the first half. Kendall Blanton is the only tight end left on the active roster for Los Angeles.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee (knee) is questionable to return.

Higbee is in the locker room and had to be assisted off the field, so his day would appear to be over. That said, not being ruled out or labeled as doubtful is hopefully a good sign, if only for a potential Super Bowl matchup in a couple of weeks.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee is eligible to play in Week 15.

Higbee had a false positive COVID-19 test that forced him to miss Monday night's game, and it's a rare situation—especially considering all the positive tests that hit the league over the past two days. The veteran tight end will be good to play against Seattle this weekend.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee is being placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

The team also placed superstar cornerback Jalen Ramsey on the list, so they'll be down two key players just a few hours away from taking on the Cardinals in primetime. Hopefully there aren't too many fantasy owners counting on Higbee in a difficult matchup, but if so, you'll have to quickly pivot to Zach Ertz (if available), Robert Blanton, or Brycen Hopkins at tight end.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee (shoulder) is officially questionable to return for the Rams.

[UPDATE: Higbee has quickly returned for LA on the same drive he was injured.] Higbee injured his shoulder while run blocking and went over to the sideline in obvious pain while hanging his left arm. It's late in the first half, and we'll see if Higbee is able to return to tonight's game against the Seahawks by the time the second half kicks off.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee (hand) is officially active for Week 8.

Higbee missed just one game with his hand issue, and he's back in the lineup today against the Dolphins. Higbee is in the TE1 mix, but Miami has some players in the secondary that could present some issue for Los Angeles' tight ends.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee (hand) is officially inactive for Monday night.

While Higbee didn't practice for most of the week and was only limited on Saturday, this is a bit of a surprise. Gerald Everett should get a ton of playing time tonight and should be a solid TE1 option if you need a fill-in for Higbee.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee (chest) was officially a full participant in today's practice.

Higbee missed Week 3 with his chest injury, but he's set to return this Sunday against the Buccaneers. Higbee will split time with Gerald Everett at tight end for the Rams, but he's difficult to trust in fantasy lineups.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee went to the hospital for a chest injury.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says the Rams tight end went to the hospital as a precaution, but it still sounds pretty bad, as Higbee was reportedly coughing up blood because of an injury to his lung. Rapoport says Higbee won't miss much time with the injury if he does miss time, but we'd say he's probably on the doubtful side of things for Week 3 against the Browns.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

The Rams have reached an agreement with Tyler Higbee on a four-year contract extension, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The deal will apparently make him one of the ten highest-paid tight ends in the league, so Los Angeles expects Higbee to remain a big part of their offense over the next few years. Perhaps this will mean the 26-year-old has an expanded receiving role, but the real-life value should exceed the fantasy value for Higbee, who will remain a desperation TE2 option that probably needs a score to be worth starting. Los Angeles has a chunk of their offensive core in place for multiple seasons, but the attention will likely turn to the offensive line next offseason.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee not targeted in Super Bowl LIII loss.

Higbee was basically no where to be found in the 13-3 defeat, as the Rams probably could have used a bit more backside play-action passes to their tight end with New England's pass rush generating consistent pressure. Higbee should once again be a co-starter with Gerald Everett in 2019, which like won't lead to much fantasy value.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee scores as Los Angeles advances to Super Bowl LIII.

Higbee caught four passes for 25 yards, including a one-yard touchdown reception in the second half. The 26-year-old will look to once again make an impact against either the Patriots or Chiefs on February 3rd.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee caught two passes for 30 yards in Saturday night's win over Dallas.

Higbee was utilized on a couple backside play-action passes, and he also did his usual work as a blocker for Todd Gurley and C.J. Anderson. The 26-year-old will look to make an impact in the NFC Championship Game next Sunday.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee catches one pass against the Niners.

Higbee gained 36 yards on his one reception in Week 17. Higbee's regular season ends with 24 receptions for 292 yards and two touchdowns. He'll be among the keys for the Rams during the postseason, particularly in the red zone.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee catches one pass in win over the Cardinals.

It went for 16 yards. Higbee can stay on the waiver wire for the season finale as Los Angles looks to earn a first-round bye.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee caught two passes for 14 yards in Sunday night's loss to Philly.

Higbee saw most of the snaps early on, but Gerald Everett ended up seeing more playing time as the Rams tried to overcome a 30-13 deficit. Fantasy owners should look elsewhere in Week 16.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee catches one pass in Week 14.

Higbee gained nine yards on his lone reception versus the Bears. Gerald Everett is currently the preferred fantasy option among the Rams tight ends.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee caught two passes for 19 yards in Sunday's win over the Lions.

Higbee was targeted three times in the victory. He will continue to split time with Gerald Everett (one reception for seven yards), but the latter is the preferred fantasy option due to his weekly upside.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee caught six passes for 63 yards in Monday night's win over the Chiefs.

Higbee was a reliable target for Jared Goff all night, including a first down reception on the team's game-winning drive. It was Gerald Everett scoring twice, though, and Higbee will probably carry a lower floor down the stretch in games that 105 points won't be scored in. Consider the co-starter a quality TE2 option when the Rams return from the bye to face the Lions.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee scores in win over the Seahawks.

Higbee caught three passes for 25 yards, including a ten-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. The former fourth-round pick could have an extended role the rest of the way with Cooper Kupp (knee) done for the season, but Gerald Everett will probably have the edge as a better receiving option in Sean McVay's offense.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee caught two passes for 40 yards in Sunday's loss to the Saints.

The Rams got their tight ends involved in a comeback attempt (Higbee and Gerald Everett combined for a 5/88 line), but New Orleans was able to answer a 21-point comeback with a 72-yard touchdown pass to seal the game and give Los Angeles their first loss of the year. Higbee won't be a recommended fantasy option against the Seahawks in Week 10.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee catches six-yard pass in win over the Packers.

It was his only reception of the game. Higbee isn't a recommended fantasy option with just six receptions for 70 yards and a touchdown through eight weeks.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee caught two passes for 26 yards in Sunday's win over the Seahawks.

Higbee was targeted four times, as the tight ends got a little more involved with Brandin Cooks and Cooper Kupp both leaving the game to enter the concussion protocol. The 25-year-old will only be worth considering in Week 6 if both Cooks and Kupp are inactive, which hopefully isn't the case.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee held without a catch in Week 4 win over the Vikings.

Higbee wasn't even needed on a night where Jared Goff threw for 465 yards, but he was fortunately able to return after leaving briefly with a knee injury. The third-year tight end isn't a fantasy option on an offense the revolves around Todd Gurley and the wide receivers.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee (knee) is back in the game for the Rams.

Higbee is back in action in a very high-scoring first half, so let's see if he gets into the action over the final half-plus of the game.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee (knee) is questionable to return against the Vikings.

It's unclear when Higbee was hurt, but the Rams will roll with mostly Gerald Everett at tight end at least for now. Hopefully the injury isn't too bad and Higbee can get back in the game in what looks like a potential shootout, though.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee caught two passes for 35 yards in Sunday's win over the Chargers.

Higbee was able to rip off gains of 20 and 15 in the victory, but the tight ends in Sean McVay's have the hardest time putting up consistent numbers because everyone else is simply so good. You can keep Higbee on the waiver wire.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee scores in Week 2.

Higbee's three-yard touchdown late in the game put the Rams up 34-0 on the Cardinals. Higbee is off the fantasy radar for now.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee catches one pass in playoff loss.

Higbee gained 11 yards on his lone reception, and he dropped a pass in the end zone late in the game on a perfect throw from Jared Goff. It wasn't an easy catch for Higbee, who did go to the ground, but he probably should've come up with it. Because of the presence of Gerald Everett, Higbee's role could decrease heading into his third season next year, but he's not a highly-reccomended fantasy option either way.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee catches two passes in Rams' win.

Higbee gained 15 yards on his two receptions, and he had a spectacular catch where he laid out after twisting his body in mid-air to come down with hit. Higbee isn't a fantasy option, but it's good to see him make plays like that.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee catches one pass in Week 15.

Higbee gained 12 yards on his lone reception, as the Rams didn't need to throw the ball around much in their blowout victory at Seattle. Higbee isn't a recommended fantasy option at the moment.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee held to one reception in Week 13 win.

It went for six yards. The second-year tight end isn't a recommended option for the fantasy playoffs.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee caught three passes for 48 yards in Sunday's win over the Saints.

Higbee's long reception went for 38 yards when he found himself wide open along the sideline He won't be a recommended fantasy option next week against a Cardinals team that held him to three receptions for 13 yards in their first meeting.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee held in check as Rams fall to Vikings.

Higbee caught one pass for five yards. He should probably be on the waiver wire heading into a matchup with New Orleans.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee catches two passes versus Houston.

Higbee gained 22 yards on his two receptions (four targets) in the game. He's not a recommended fantasy option right now.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee scores in Week 9 win.

It was an eight-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter of a 51-17 win, and his only catch of the game. Higbee can stay on the waiver wire heading into a matchup with the Texans.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee catches three passes against Arizona.

Higbee gained 13 yards on his three receptions (three targets). He's contributing more for the Rams in real life than he is on the stat sheet right now, so Higbee is best left out of fantasy lineups. His next matchup, in Week 9 against the Giants, is a good one though, as they've given up a ton of points to the TE position this season.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee catches one pass in Week 6.

Higbee didn't gain any yards on his lone reception (three targets). He'll have some good games but is not a recommended fantasy option in Week 7 against Arizona.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee leads Rams in receiving against the Seahawks.

The second-year tight end had an excellent game, catching four of eight targets for 98 yards including a long of 35. Despite the near-100-yard performance, Higbee isn't a reliable fantasy option in Week 6 against Jacksonville.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee caught three passes for 47 yards in Sunday's win over Dallas.

Higbee was held to three catches for 21 yards through the first three games of the season, and he can remain on the waiver wire in all fantasy leagues.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee catches one pass for four yards in Week 3.

The second-year tight end isn't a top fantasy option in an offense with a few tight ends that has been working through the running backs and receivers.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Tyler Higbee caught two passes for 17 yards in the team's convincing victory over the Colts.

Higbee doesn't need to be rostered on an offense that had three good wide receivers. Los Angeles will host the Redskins in Week 2.

Tyler Higbee | Rams TE

Jared Goff says tight end Tyler Hibgee is "our starter this year."

According to Myles Simmons of the Rams' official site, Goff and Higbee are displaying great chemistry during practice. Goff said, "I’m excited to see what he can do this year. He’s our starter this year, and expect him to do some big things." The Rams drafted tight end Gerald Everett in the second round of this year's draft, but Higbee is currently listed as the starter. Still, the Rams are expected to use both guys on offense. To start the year, it looks like Higbee—who was drafted last year with Goff and has more experience with the quarterback—will be the better fantasy option. Everett is the preferred option in dynasty leagues, though.

Tyler Higbee catches short touchdown in loss to the Niners.

He had two catches for five yards and the touchdown. Congrats to the rookie Higbee on his first career touchdown. He's not a fantasy option right now, but could turn into one in future years.
