It’s Prime Day, and today’s Top Ten Tuesday highlights some of the best deals you can get with your Amazon Prime membership. Prime Day runs today July 12 through tomorrow July 13, and it’s typically the best time of the year (aside from maybe Black Friday) to find great deals. Not that Amazon needs any help getting people to buy from them! But we’re here to help you find values that might be a fit for you this summer. Happy shopping! 10. Subscriptions
Let’s start with a non-physical option, as there are a couple of free trials to take advantage of. Amazon Music offers four months free to listen to countless songs and albums. And Audible offers three months free to listen to audiobooks, podcasts, and Originals. Just keep in mind you’ll have to cancel before your free trial ends if you don’t want to keep the subscription to avoid getting charged.
9. Headphones
If you search “headphones” on Amazon, you’ll see many of the blue “Prime Day Deal” tags throughout the results. So, there are options for any budget, but the best option might be the exceptional Bose Quiet Comfort 35 II, which are nearly $100 off for the Silver at the time of this publication.
8. Comics
The comic-book deals will likely come and go (including the potential for lightning deals), so keep a close look over the next couple of days. One of the top options, which is available until early Wednesday, is “The Batman Box Set”. It just came out in late March and includes three awesome comics—Year One, The Long Halloween, and Ego—that influenced the recently released The Batmanfilm. At $34.34, it’s well worth it—particularly for classics The Long Halloween (which also influenced The Dark Knight) and Year One.
7. WiFi
In today’s day and age of hyperconnectivity and work-from-home, WiFi is almost a cornerstone of many homes. There are many routers that can be had for a value during Prime Day. Netgear has long been among the best, and one of their Nighthawk routers is available for 38% off.
6. Apple products
You can find discounts of nearly or surpassing $100 on many Apple products during Prime Day, including the Apple Watch, Apple TV, and AirPods Pro.
5. Amazon devices
As you would expect, Prime Day makes likely the best time to buy a new Amazon device. The Amazon Fire TV Stick is one of the best values in entertainment even without a discount, and you can get it for $20-$25 less than usual now. The Fire TV Stick 4K Max is their top option.
4. 4K movies and shows
While Amazon TV, Apple TV, Netflix, etc. are all great, there’s something to be said about owning the physical copies of movies and shows. Plenty of individual movies you might be interested in are part of Prime Day deals, but the biggest savings come on box sets (like Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and Jason Bourne).
3. Televisions
And what about a mind-blowing new television to go along with a new streaming device or physical purchase? It is highly recommended that you go with an OLED (LG and Sony being the top options) if you want the best picture quality possible—though QLED is also good for gaming. You might want 65, 77, or 83 inches for your living room, so you can look around for discounts there. But the best Prime Day deal might come at the 48-inch size with the LG OLED A1 for 44% off.
2. Books
Amazon started as an online bookstore, after all. Where the Crawdads Sing was made into a movie that coincidentally releases tomorrow, and it’s currently No. 1 on the Amazon Charts for books. It’s among the books that you can buy 2, save 50% on 1 during Prime Day.
1. Amazon gift card
We’re also ending with a non-physical option, as this is one that virtually all Prime members should take advantage unless you don’t plan on buying anything from Amazon anytime soon (which is probably unlikely if you’re a Prime member). The purchase of a $50 Amazon.com eGift Card gets you a free $12.50 in Amazon credit. So you’ll need to pay $50 today, but it’s probably worth it for most people; the $12.50 credit can help you save a little bit on a future purchase, or you can use it to essentially get something like a book for free.
