EA Sports College Football 25 is getting universal praise since last week’s launch. The game builds on the spirit of its predecessor NCAA 14 from a decade ago and delivers excellent gameplay while keeping a college atmosphere vibe, including from the school-band soundtrack. Our full review can be read here.
However, perhaps the most popular mode, Dynasty Mode, is something you should wait to begin. If you do a quick search on X, you’ll see many fans unhappy with the bugs within Dynasty.
There seem to be a bunch of minor issues in Dynasty, but the biggest problem is the current Super Sim Logic. Right now, simulating leads to major problems like:
- College Football Playoff seeding is broken (e.g., a team with four losses might be ranked ahead of a two-loss Ohio State team).
- Similarly, the Top 25 Polls are off.
- Too many Power 4 schools are getting upset by FCS squads.
Obviously, football fans were hyped for College Football 25 in large part because they were expecting a realistic experience. With poor Super Sim Logic, that’s not the case to this point.
The good news is that earlier this week EA released a list of key topics their team is aware of and working on. Among them, are the Dynasty problems. They note the “many factors at play in Dynasty that can create ripple effects” and the hope is to “create organic and dynamic situations that lead to branching stories.”
In other words, they want to make it the type of experience college football fans experience in real life—with craziness throughout the season that ensures things can go much differently for each Dynasty participant. It just sounds like they need to hone some things.
You could mess around in Dynasty while you wait, but these problems are reason enough to wait to start a legit Dynasty journey you want to run for multiple seasons. Hopefully EA can patch Dynasty soon so fans can have a realistic experience of trying to build a college football powerhouse.
