Best Candidates For The Fifth Season Of Amazon’s ‘All or Nothing’ In 2020

This year of Amazon’s All or Nothing (released one week ago, focusing on the Carolina Panthers) gave another unmatched look inside an NFL team during the season, as football fans were able to learn more about the players and staff they are watching on Sundays during the fall. There’s no reason to believe the series won’t continue in 2020, and these are the teams we’d like to see for the fifth season of the Amazon and NFL Films presentation.

New England Patriots

This probably isn’t likely because it would give up secrets about the Patriots’ gameplanning, and all 31 other teams would undoubtedly be studying it to improve their own organization. But Bill Belichick and Tom Brady are certainly closer to the end of their careers than the beginning, and it would be remarkable to get an inside look at one of their final seasons. The Patriots on All or Nothing would be a must-watch for all football fans—including those that dislike the Patriots—sports fans, and just people looking to improve in general, whether it’s a business manager, coach, or teacher.

Cleveland Browns

Whatever happens with the Browns this season, it’s going to be interesting. Cleveland was on HBO’s Hard Knocks last year, and that was entertaining for negative reasons, as it was quite honestly a poor reflection on the team, which was evident after the midseason shake-up. Now, more characters were added to the mix, namely star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and former league-leading rusher Kareem Hunt. Following OBJ and Hunt getting acclimated to their new team for different reasons, the progression of second-year quarterback Baker Mayfield, and Freddie Kitchens getting used to his first year on the job are among the storylines that would be monitored on the show.

Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers would be a worthy All or Nothing team based solely on the holdout of running back Melvin Gordon, which looks like it might extend into the regular season if the two sides don’t agree to a contract extension. It really would’ve been something if we got an inside look into the similar situation with former Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell, who ultimately held out the entire year, in 2018—and we can potentially get that in 2019 if the Chargers are selected for the show. Even if Gordon shows up this summer, the Chargers are stacked with talent on both sides of the ball and would be a very good choice.

Philadelphia Eagles

After his second consecutive season-ending injury and a report painting him as a “selfish” guy, Carson Wentz’s performance will be one of the NFL’s biggest stories in 2019. Wentz seems like a model citizen and an ideal role model from the outside, so getting the NFL Films crew to film what things are really like would allow fans to decide for themselves if the anonymous sources were just or not. Also, the return of wide receiver DeSean Jackson, who started his career in Philadelphia, and the arrival of newcomers like running back Jordan Howard make the Eagles feel like a good fit to headline the fifth season.

New Orleans Saints

No matter what happens this season, you can bet that if the Saints are on All or Nothing in 2020, it would start with a replay of the non-pass-interference-call in last season’s NFC Championship Game. That alone would be a headline to get fans to watch, as a lot of this season for New Orleans will be about putting that into the rearview—which might not be easy for them to do, especially after some members of the team made it known well after the game’s conclusion that they weren’t yet over it. Future Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees is now 40 years old, so it would be nice to get a look at his preparation throughout a season before he calls it a career.

Kansas City Chiefs

Reigning league MVP Patrick Mahomes instantly became one of the NFL’s most marketable players last season, and many football fans would love to tune into All or Nothing to see Mahomes work on the practice field and interact with his teammates and staff on a day-to-day basis. The revamped defense under new defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo is a key for Kansas City, and the Chiefs have characters like Travis Kelce and Sammy Watkins to track.

Denver Broncos

The Broncos will have a tough task making the postseason while playing in the AFC West, but they should have a shot after hiring head coach Vic Fangio (longtime defensive coordinator that led the Bears’ elite defense last season) and trading for former Super Bowl MVP quarterback Joe Flacco. Fangio has already set the tone with his new team by outlawing music during practice, and many people would want to see his old-school approach in practice for All or Nothing.
