Sam Darnold | Seahawks QB

Sam Darnold (foot) was a full participant in today’s practice.

Week 14 was the reported target return date for Darnold, and he looks to be ready to go to face the Bills on Sunday. We’ll let you know if anything changes, but expect the rookie quarterback to be back in the lineup after missing the last three games. Darnold is not a fantasy option for the first week of the fantasy playoffs.

Martavis Bryant | Free Agent WR

The Raiders have placed Martavis Bryant (knee) on injured reserve.

Bryant was surprisingly listed as questionable last Friday before being downgraded to doubtful and ultimately missing Week 13 against the Chiefs, and the Raiders have now decided to shut him down for the season. It’s certainly been an up and down season for the talented receiver, as he had a suspension hanging over his head that never came to fruition, and in between he was released and re-signed by the Raiders. His season ends with 19 receptions for 266 yards along with three carries for 23 yards in eight games. Right now, he’s not looking like a recommended fantasy selection in 2019, but things can change.

Doug Martin | Free Agent RB

Doug Martin has a knee injury and is uncertain for Week 14.

This explains the signing of veteran running back C.J. Anderson, who Jon Gruden called insurance in case Martin can’t play against the Steelers on Sunday. We’ll track Martin’s practice status throughout this week, but consider him questionable for now.

Emmanuel Sanders | Free Agent WR

The Broncos fear a torn Achilles for Emmanuel Sanders, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

This is just terrible news for the veteran receiver, especially with Denver climbing back to 6-6 and in a pretty good position in the AFC playoff picture. We just have to hope the initial fear is inaccurate and that Sanders’ injury isn’t as bad as a torn Achilles, but it looks like rookie receivers Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton will really have to step up in Denver’s offense over the final four games of the regular season. More information on Sanders’ injury should become available later today or tomorrow.

Emmanuel Sanders | Free Agent WR

Emmanuel Sanders reportedly left practice with a leg injury.

Multiple Broncos reporters are the open part of practice say Sanders slipped and appeared to injure his ankle area. He was then reportedly taken off the field without putting any pressure on his leg. This could just be something that Sanders is making look more serious than it actually is or perhaps caution is being exercised, so we’ll update you when more information becomes available. Hopefully it’s not anything serious.

12/5/18 - 02:16 PM ET

Josh Johnson | Commanders QB

The Redskins officially signed quarterback Josh Johnson.

Washington wanted someone with at least some familiarity with the coaching staff, and Johnson was with Jay Gruden in Tampa Bay in 2008. Johnson was set to play for the newly-established Alliance of American Football league, but he was released from his contract and has been allowed to sign back in the NFL. Johnson will backup Mark Sanchez, so he’s obviously not a fantasy option.

12/5/18 - 12:39 PM ET

Greg Olsen | Retired TE

The Panthers officially placed Greg Olsen (foot) on injured reserve.

As Olsen said, he pushed the re-injured surgically-repaired foot as far as he could and it “just had enough.” Olsen’s season ends with 27 receptions for 291 yards and four touchdowns in nine games, but he probably wasn’t that close to 100% when he was on the field. The veteran tight end had played in all 16 games his previous nine seasons before last year, but unfortunately this foot has given him issues and limited him to 16 combined games the last two seasons. Hopefully Olsen can get back to full strength this offseason, but he’ll turn 34 and some will be concerned about his durability heading into 2019—this could make him a steal as a steady TE1 option in drafts next summer.
