[UPDATE: Fields has returned after a couple plays.] Fields appeared to hyperextend his leg pretty badly, and he went over to the bench and then into the medical tent to get checked out. Hopefully this isn’t too serious, but Andy Dalton is now in the game versus Las Vegas for Chicago.

Saquon Barkley (ankle) has officially been ruled out for the rest of Week 5.
Barkley’s ankle ballooned up on the sideline after he twisted badly it while stepping on another player on a route, and he’s been carted to the locker room. This is just awful luck for an extremely talented player that’s had trouble staying healthy throughout his career. This came after Barkley looked a lot like himself over the past couple of weeks, and now he’s looking at a potentially lengthy absence from the field. Before leaving, Barkley had two carries for nine yards.

Saquon Barkley leaves game with apparent leg injury.
Barkley had his ankle twisted pretty awkwardly and limped off the field to the bench. Trainers are currently looking at Barkley now, and hopefully it’s a situation where he’s able to get it taped up and return to today’s matchup with the Cowboys.

Curtis Samuel (groin) has been ruled out for the rest of today.
Samuel unfortunately hasn’t been able to get right early this season. His day ends with one carry for eight yards.

Damien Harris (chest) has returned to the game.
Harris is back with the Patriots driving down 22-15 in the fourth quarter. We’ll see if he can atone for an earlier fumble on a near touchdown.

Damien Harris (chest) officially questionable to return for the Patriots.
Harris had one touchdown in the first half and had another play that looked like a touchdown but was overturned and ruled a lost fumble. Hopefully he’s able to return soon in a game the Patriots are down to the Texans.
10/10/21 - 03:06 PM ET
Deonte Harris (hamstring) is out for the rest of today.
Harris caught a 72-yard touchdown before leaving in the first half for New Orleans, and he’s now being declared out for the rest of the game. Hopefully the receiver/returner doesn’t miss much more time past today.
