NFL Network’s Ian Rapport says it’s “mild” turf toe, but that he’s still expected to miss a few weeks. Look for the veteran running back to land on injured reserve, which will keep him out for at least three games. It’s an unfortunate break for a guy coming off an 100-yard outing a couple of weeks ago, but at least the Raiders have Josh Jacobs back in the lineup.

The Dolphins are placing Will Fuller (finger) on injured reserve.
This knocks Fuller out for at least three games. Look for the Dolphins to lean on DeVante Parker and Jaylen Waddle at receiver while Fuller remains out. It’s unfortunate that Fuller has had such bad injury luck throughout his career.

The Texans are releasing Anthony Miller.
Houston just acquired Miller late this summer, and he caught a touchdown earlier this season for his new team. This release is a surprise, but Miller clearly must not have been a fit with the Texans for whatever reason. The former second-round pick is a talented player that shouldn’t have much trouble landing with another team.

The 49ers signed Jordan Matthews to the practice squad.
Matthews is back with San Francisco as he looks to continue his development at the tight end position.

The 49ers released Chris Thompson from the practice squad.
The versatile veteran running back at least has familiarity with the Niners now, so we’ll see if he lands back with Kyle Shanahan at some point if no other team picks him up.

The 49ers released Kerryon Johnson.
Elijah Mitchell (shoulder) is expected to return for the Niners this week, and the team is still pretty deep at running back despite the injuries. We’ll see where the former second-rounder Johnson lands.

Tony Jones Jr. (ankle) is expected to miss three-to-four weeks.
Overall, this is probably pretty good news after Jones was carted off with the ankle injury on Sunday. He’s likely headed for a trip to short-term injured reserve, which would force him to miss at least three games. The Saints worked out veteran running backs, but expect an even heavier dose of Alvin Kamara over the next few weeks.
