Join now >Carlos Hyde handles just six carries in loss to the Eagles.
Hyde rushed six times for 11 yards and failed to catch either of his targets. Philly has a tough run defense, but it was a surprise that Jacksonville didn’t give Hyde more touches after trading a fifth-round pick for him considering Leonard Fournette (hamstring) is expected back after the Week 9 bye. People were optimistic about the Ohio State product as a potential RB1/RB2 with the Jaguars, but he’s now suddenly looking like a handcuff with unreliable FLEX value.

Corey Clement gets five touches against the Jaguars.
Clement carried four times for six yards and added one reception for -1 yards in the Eagles’ Week 8 win. Undrafted rookie Josh Adams (nine carries, 61 yards) emerged as Philadelphia’s lead runner versus the Jaguars, as one of last year’s Super Bowl heroes has surprisingly been largely phased out of the offense for the Eagles. It’s difficult to trust Clement as a FLEX option right now.

Nelson Agholor catches three passes in London game win.
Agholor gained 49 yards on his three receptions against the Jaguars, and he also added a 14-yard carry. The fourth-year receiver’s six targets were tied with Zach Ertz for a team-high, but he wasn’t as involved in the offense after making a big impact early in the game. We’d still like to see Agholor get targeted down the field more along with getting the ball in his hands quick, so he’s just a FLEX option for now.

Blake Bortles, Jaguars fall to 3-5 with 24-18 loss to the Eagles in London.
Bortles was 24/41 for 286 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions, also adding eight carries for 43 yards on the ground. Jacksonville only ran it eight times for 18 yards with their running backs, so everything was on Bortles across the pond, and they couldn’t find the end zone on a couple potential game-winning scoring drives in the fourth quarter. Overall, Bortles made plays with his legs, but he still showed inconsistency as a passer, and at the midpoint of the season, the 26-year-old is on pace for over 4,000 passing yards with just ten touchdowns. He won’t be a recommended fantasy option coming out of Jacksonville’s Week 9 bye.

Wendell Smallwood scores in Eagles’ win.
Smallwood carried eight times for 24 yards and caught two passes for 42 yards and a touchdown against the Jaguars. The touchdown was on a 36-yard screen pass where Smallwood received great blocking and pretty much walked in to the end zone. Josh Adams became the lead runner in this one, receiving nine carries, but Smallwood received more than double the touches of Corey Clement. Smallwood will be a weaker FLEX option for Week 10 agains the Cowboys assuming the Eagles make no trades for a running back during their bye.

Josh Adams gets ten touches against the Jaguars.
The undrafted rookie got an extended look as a runner ahead of Tuesday’s trade deadline, carrying nine times for 61 yards along with one reception for six yards. The Notre Dame product ran well downhill, and he had a long run of 21 yards in the win. Adams nearly had a costly fumble late in the game, but it was overturned after a replay review. Adams received more carries than Wendell Smallwood (eight) and Corey Clement (four), but it’s unclear if he’ll continue getting more carried moving forward. He’s worth a look as a pickup, especially in deeper leagues.

Carson Wentz throws three touchdowns in Eagles’ London game win.
Wentz was 21/30 for 286 yards, three touchdowns, one interception, and one fumble lost along with six carries for 28 yards. It was a slow start for Wentz, who had a couple of early turnovers including an interception on a throw to the end zone; but he bounced back and threw a 32-yard touchdown to Dallas Goedert at the end of the first half, and then he threw touchdowns to Wendell Smallwood (on a 36-yard screen pass) and a short touchdown to Zach Ertz. Overall, it was another very good game for the Eagles starter, and now he’ll enter the bye week before a Sunday night matchup against the Cowboys in two weeks.
