Join now >Jimmy Garoppolo (calf) has a chance to play in Week 5.
49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan says the calf issue isn’t quite as bad as they might have feared, and that Garoppolo might play this Sunday against the Cardinals. It’s pretty funny that Garoppolo said he hopes it’s “just a couple of weeks or something” and everyone ran with it as a timeline. Jimmy G might miss time, but San Francisco is hoping he can get out there for an NFC West matchup. Clearly, Shanahan would prefer to play the veteran over the rookie Trey Lance.

The Jaguars placed D.J. Chark (ankle) on injured reserve.
This was fully expected after Chark left last Thursday night’s game with an ankle injury. Going on injured reserve forces Chark to miss at least three weeks, but the hope is that he’ll be able to return this season.

Will Fuller (finger) is week-to-week, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Fuller left Sunday’s game with a broken finger, and he’s now in danger of missing multiple games. The speedster should still be held in fantasy leagues because of the upside, but Miami should continue leaning on DeVante Parker, Jaylen Waddle, and Mike Gesicki as the key players on offense for the rest of the season.

Joe Mixon (ankle) is considered week-to-week.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter says it’s a “low-grade ankle sprain that will leave [Mixon] week to week.” Mixon left late in last Thursday night’s win over the Jaguars, and it wasn’t seen as a serious injury. Still, there’s a chance Mixon will miss games due to the injury. If Mixon is out, Samaje Perine and rookie Chris Evans would handle the backfield work for Cincinnati.

Teddy Bridgewater is officially out for the rest of today’s game.
Bridgewater is in the NFL’s concussion protocol and will miss the entire second half after getting checked out at halftime. Drew Lock is now in for Denver down 17-7 to Baltimore. Before leaving, Bridgewater was 7/16 for 65 yards and one touchdown.

Jimmy Garoppolo out to begin the second half.
[UPDATE: It is a calf injury for Garoppolo.] Garoppolo is without his helmet on the sidelines, and rookie Trey Lance is in at quarterback for the Niners. It appears Jimmy G might be dealing with an injury, but we’ll update you when more information becomes available. In the first half, Garoppolo was 14/23 for 165 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.

David Montgomery suffered apparent leg injury.
Montgomery, who is an extremely tough player, is down in obvious pain and his teammates are calling the training staff onto the field. Hopefully this isn’t as bad as it appears on first glance, but Montgomery is holding his knee, which obviously isn’t a great sign. Damien Williams will handle most of the backfield work while Montgomery is out. Before leaving, Montgomery had 23 carries for 106 yards and two touchdowns versus the Lions, running very hard all game.
