Join now >The Browns are signing Davion Davis to the practice squad, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
This was the expectation after he cleared waivers, and Davis will hope to impress in practice to get a shot on the active roster. Cleveland will be without Jarvis Landry (knee) for at least the next three weeks.

Nico Collins (toe) has been placed on IR.
Collins was injured in Week 2, and he will now miss at least the next three games. Look for Chris Conley and Anthony Miller to get extended action behind Brandin Cooks with Danny Amendola (hamstring) also banged up.

The Texans placed Tyrod Taylor (hamstring) on injured reserve.
Tyrod will miss at least the next three games, and rookie Davis Mills will get a shot to play in his place during that time. It’s an unfortunate break for Taylor, but we would expect he will be back in the starting lineup when healthy.

Carson Wentz is in a walking boot.
According to multiple reports, Wentz was also in the facility with a scooter yesterday, so it’s been a cautious approach after he suffered two ankle sprains on Sunday. Wentz is set to test things this week in practice, and we’d think there’ll be an answer on his Week 3 status by the weekend.

The Packers are waiving Jace Sternberger.
Sternberger has struggled to stay on the field and make a big impact for Green Bay since getting drafted in the third round in 2019. He’s coming off a two-game suspension, and the Packers are moving in another direction instead of having him on the 53-man roster. It’ll be interesting to see where the former All-American lands.

The Browns placed Jarvis Landry (knee) on injured reserve.
Landry is considered week-to-week with his MCL sprain, and going on injured reserve will keep him out for the next three weeks. The veteran receiver will be eligible to return for a Week 6 matchup with the Cardinals.

Diontae Johnson’s knee injury could force him to miss action.
Johnson was injured at the very end of the Steelers’ Week 2 loss to the Raiders, and head coach Mike Tomlin says the knee injury is “looking better, not to be confused with great.” So it sounds like there is some concern with the dynamic receiver’s status moving forward. The hope is that Johnson will not miss any time, but we’ll see.
