Join now >Matt Ryan emulates Cam Newton on the ground in 31-24 win over the Panthers.
Ryan went 23/28 for 272 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception, also rushing four times for 18 yards and two scores. Both passing touchdowns came in the red zone to Calvin Ridley (11 yards) and Austin Hooper (eight yards), which is a great sign after Atlanta’s offensive struggles in the opener. In the second half, Ryan surprisingly did it himself on the ground from one and eight yards out in a key victory over Carolina. Next week, the Falcons get another big matchup against the Saints, and Ryan should be treated as a solid QB1 at home.

The Patriots are releasing Corey Coleman to make room for Josh Gordon, according to Field Yates.
The 2016 first-round pick is purely collateral damage to New England acquiring the former All-Pro, but it shouldn’t take long for Coleman to find a new home. Of course, he was probably in the best possible place to rebuild his value, so this is a definite blow to his stock in dynasty leagues. The Eagles immediately come to mind as a fit.

A.J. Derby scores in Week 2.
Derby caught a 19-yard touchdown in the second quarter against the Jets. He’s not a recommended fantasy option, but it’s good to see Derby contributing for Miami.

The Patriots are acquiring wide receiver Josh Gordon from the Browns.
New England saw an opportunity to acquire someone that’s arguably a top-two talent at wide receiver, and they’re taking it. Gordon is probably Tom Brady’s most talented wide receiver since Randy Moss, and we saw the type of success that pairing had during their time together. It might take some time for Gordon to get acclimated to the offense, but he has enormous WR1 potential both for this season and moving forward if he’s able to keep it together off the field and remain with the Patriots. Immediately, the Patriots might start feeding him parts of the offense so he can get out on the field for some snaps. New England essentially has two years of team control over Gordon, as the former All-Pro is set to become a restricted free agent after the season. There’s some risk in acquiring a player that’s been troubled like Gordon has, but the upside is obviously astronomical. The Browns are getting a fifth-round pick in return for their former superstar receiver.

Danny Amendola catches all four targets in Week 2.
Amendola gained 32 yards on his four receptions against the Jets. He took a bit hit and was looked at in the game, but he appeared to be fine. Amendola is a reliable real-life target for Ryan Tannehill, but he’s hard to trust in fantasy lineups.

Taiwan Jones does not have a concussion.
This is great to hear, as Jones left yesterday’s game with a head injury. He’ll be ready to go for Sunday against the Vikings, and the Bills might need him to chip in more on offense if LeSean McCoy (ribs) is out. Jones would not be a recommended fantasy option, though.

Jakeem Grant gets three offensive touches in Week 2.
Grant had two receptions for 27 yards and one carry for five yards in a win against the Jets. He’s another member of Miami’s offense that makes them hard to defend, but Grant is not a reliable fantasy option at the moment.
