Sproles was limited yesterday, which he might be every Wednesday practice this season, but it’s not a good sign that he was a non-participant today. The veteran running back could be headed for a questionable designation ahead of this Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers.

The Patriots are signing Bennie Fowler, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.
The former Broncos receiver spent the summer with the Bears, and now he lands in a good spot with New England. The Patriots are likely expecting Fowler to be a big special-teams contributor with the ability to chip-in on offense. Fowler is not on the fantasy radar, as this is more of a good real-life move for the Patriots.

Shelton Gibson (knee) did not practice today.
We’ll see what happens tomorrow when the official injury report for the game is released, but the second-year receiver seems on the doubtful side of things for Week 2.

Todd Gurley, Rams get rolling in second half of Week 1 victory.
On the night, Gurley rushed 20 times for 108 yards, also adding three receptions for 39 yards and a touchdown, which came from 19 yards out in the first quarter. The reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year looked extremely explosive (as expected), and he should remain an elite RB1 player despite a tough stretch against the Cardinals, Chargers, and Vikings over the next three weeks.

Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) remains limited in practice.
Jeffery continues to work his way back from his offseason shoulder surgery, and two practices in a row is a good sign. Jeffery might ultimately be ruled out tomorrow when the official injury report for the game is released, though.

The Patriots are signing Corey Coleman, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
This seemed bound to happen and isn’t a surprise after New England released wide receivers Riley McCarron and Chad Hansen yesterday. The explosive 2016 first-round pick of the Browns lands in a good spot to get his career back on track after he was traded by Cleveland then cut by Buffalo this summer. It’ll take some time for Coleman to get acclimated to the offense, so he’s not a highly-recommended fantasy pickup in standard-sized redraft leagues. However, he is an obvious buy-low candidate in dynasty leagues as someone with the talent to eventually step up as a big-time target for Tom Brady.

Ron Rivera again says he wants a heavy workload for Christian McCaffrey.
This has been the case all summer leading up to the season, but some became worried after C.J. Anderson took more work than expected in Week 1. Rivera says the hope is to eventually get McCaffrey about 15-20 carries and 6-10 catches, which would put him at 21-30 touches per game—more than enough to put up some monster numbers. McCaffrey is an excellent fantasy RB1 in both standard and PPR leagues, and he’s arguably in the mix for top overall player in the latter format.
