Heuerman gained 15 yards on his only target of the game against Seattle. He’s a better real-life contributor than fantasy contributor.

Tyrell Williams scores in Week 1 loss.
Williams caught two passes for eight yards, including a four-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. This was a cupcake matchup for the veteran, but he didn’t make much of an impact besides the score on a day where four players went over 80 receiving yards for Los Angeles. Williams is in danger of being demoted to the No. 3 receiver with Mike Williams looking healthy and ready to be a playmaker on the outside.

Cole Beasley operates as Dak Prescott’s clear No. 1 target in Week 1 defeat.
Beasley caught seven passes for 73 yards, with no other player topping 27 yards in the 16-8 loss to Carolina. The Cowboys need to get their perimeter options going, but for now, Beasley is a low-upside FLEX option in PPR leagues.

Phillip Lindsay scores in NFL debut.
The undrafted rookie from Colorado earned a roster spot with Denver this summer, and he continued his stellar play in his first regular season action, carrying 15 times for 71 rushing yards while adding two receptions for 31 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown. Lindsay simply became the hot hand and worked his way into about an even backfield split with fellow rookie—and starter—Royce Freeman. Lindsay probably isn’t going away, and he’s worth a pickup if you’re looking for someone to add to the end of your bench.

Jake Butt catches two passes in Week 1.
Butt was targeted four times by Case Keenum, gaining 29 yards on his two receptions, including a long of 22 yards. It’s good to see the second-year tight end healthy, but he’s not a recommended fantasy option with the focus of Denver’s passing game going through the wide receivers.

Antonio Gates has quiet day in Week 1 loss.
Gates caught two passes for 16 yards. Of course, the future Hall of Famer didn’t re-sign with the team until last week, so he should be more involved as the season progresses. The Chargers take on the Bills in Week 2.

Courtland Sutton catches two passes in NFL debut.
Sutton worked as the No. 3 receiver behind Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders, and he played well with two receptions for 45 yards. Sutton’s first catch was a nice 20-yarder, and he followed it up with a 25-yard reception. Two 20+ yard reception to start a career isn’t too bad, and he’ll look to make many more big plays throughout his career. For now, Sutton is a volatile FLEX option if Thomas and Sanders remain on the field.
