Washington is signing Peyton Barber to the practice squad, according to ESPN’s John Keim.

Barber was unable to crack the 53-man roster, but he’s staying with the team and would likely be promoted if an injury strikes. The veteran not being active on game days will only increase the touchdown upside of Antonio Gibson as the lead back.

The Ravens are placing Miles Boykin (hamstring) on injured reserve, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

Boykin will be out for at least the first three weeks of the season, as Baltimore’s health issues at receiver continue to pile up. IR is also said to be a possibility for first-round pick Rashod Bateman, so Sammy Watkins should see plenty of target in the opener.

The Patriots have claimed Malcolm Perry.

This is an interesting add because New England will take on Miami in Week 1, so Bill Belichick is surely hoping for some intel on Brian Flores’ squad. Perry could see time at both running back and wide receiver for the Pats, but his biggest chance at contributing is likely on special teams.

The Lions have claimed KhaDarel Hodge.

Detroit has the most wide open depth chart in the league, so this is a great spot for him to potentially find his way into fantasy relevancy. As of now, Tyrell Williams appears to be the only wideout on the team worth targeting.

The Cowboys have claimed Will Grier.

Dallas has been connected to Cam Newton, but Grier will now get into the building to join Cooper Rush behind Dak Prescott. The former third-round pick will likely start the season as the No. 3 quarterback.

Collin Johnson has been claimed by the Giants.

Johnson wasn’t able to crack the final roster in Jacksonville, but in New York, he will provide insurance behind Kenny Golladay as a big-bodied perimeter target. For now, he’s not a strong consideration in redraft leagues.
