Join now >The 49ers have waived/injured Max McCaffrey.
McCaffrey is dealing with a foot injury that’s kept him out this summer, so he could be placed on IR for San Francisco or released with an injury settlement if he goes unclaimed through waivers. The older brother of Christian McCaffrey turned 24 in May and has caught one pass for four yards in the NFL. He’s probably off the radar in dynasty leagues.

The Bengals waived Moritz Bohringer.
Cincinnati moved the big German to tight end, but he wasn’t able to crack the 53-man roster. Bohringer might be a candidate for the practice squad.

Amara Darboh will play in tomorrow’s preseason game.
Darboh has dealt with injuries this summer and has not played in any of Seattle’s first three preseason games. The 2017 third-round pick is in a battle for a roster spot.

The Bengals placed Matt Barkley (knee) on injured reserve.
This was expected after it was revealed that Barkley is dealing with a Grade 3 MCL sprain. Barkley might be brought off IR at some point this season to be the backup quarterback, but consider his season over at this point.

The Saints are trading for Teddy Bridgewater, according to multiple reports.
Bridgewater signed with the Jets on a one-year deal in free agency, but it sounds like New Orleans might have just traded for their quarterback of the future. This preseason, Teddy has completed 28-of-38 passes (73.7%) for 316 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in three games with New York while looking like the first-round pick we saw coming out of Louisville. New Orleans could just be trading for a one-year rental as Drew Brees’ backup, but Sean Payton most likely views Bridgewater—who doesn’t turn 26 until November—as a potential successor. He obviously won’t have redraft value in 2018 barring injury, but savvy dynasty owners might be wise to get Bridgewater now, as he could eventually put up big-time numbers if he’s handed the keys to Payton’s offense.

The Bengals waived Ryan Hewitt.
Hewitt spent each of his first four NFL seasons with the Bengals after going undrafted from Stanford in 2014. The versatile h-back is likely to draw interest from other teams soon.

Aaron Rodgers has agreed to a four-year extension with the Packers, according to James Jones.
Rodgers promised the contract scoop to his former teammate Jones, and Jones did indeed break the news, saying it’s a four-year extension worth $33.5 million per year (plus incentives), with over $100 million guaranteed. The per-year number and the guaranteed number are both the largest in NFL history, which was expected. Deals of this magnitude make it tougher to do deals with other high-prices players in a salary-cap league, but he Packers are obviously happy to have Rodgers locked up through the 2023 season (he had two years left on his current contract). Rodgers is an elite QB1 in fantasy drafts.
