The Buccaneers are waiving Jaydon Mickens.

Mickens contributed to the champion Buccaneers last season, but the stacked roster got even better at receiver this offseason and was a very difficult group to crack. Mickens’ return ability should help him land in a new spot soon.

The Patriots cut Matt LaCosse.

New England is deep at tight end after aggressively bolstering the position this offseason. LaCosse is off the fantasy radar for now.

The Cowboys released Garrett Gilbert.

Gilbert is said to have had a solid training camp, but Cooper Rush will be Dak Prescott’s backup, with the team set to keep just two quarterbacks on the roster. Gilbert could land back with the Cowboys on the practice squad if he doesn’t end up with another team.

Washington is waiving Antonio Gandy-Golden.

Washington looks pretty deep at receiver, but this one is a surprise. Gandy-Golden was a fourth-round pick just last year, and he’s a good bet to get claimed by a team on waivers.

Washington released Peyton Barber.

Barber was a trusted guy in the backfield for Ron Rivera, but Washington has a deep running back group with Antonio Gibson, J.D. McKissic, and impressive undrafted rookie Jaret Patterson. Barber’s experience should help him land with a new team soon.

The Panthers waived Will Grier.

The former third-round pick now hits waivers and will be an interesting potential addition to another team. P.J. Walker will be Carolina’s backup quarterback, which isn’t surprising given how well he’s played when given opportunities.

The Titans waived Javian Hawkins.

This isn’t a surprise after Hawkins was just recently added to the running back group for the Titans. The undrafted rookie won’t have trouble landing with another squad, but it might be on the practice squad to start the season.
