Join now >Tyler Boyd has been “dominating” Bengals training camp so far.
Bengals.com writes that the third-year receiver has been dominating and that “if you don’t think Boyd looks like their second best receiver, think again.” Head coach Marvin Lewis said Boyd went through some ups and downs last year, but he returned this year and “has attacked this offseason liken nobody’s business.” Things can change throughout the summer, but for now, Boyd appears locked into the slot for Cincinnati.

Terrell’s Pryor (ankle) is limited to start training camp.
This is better than starting on the PUP list, and Pryor will hopefully be a full participant soon. Pryor says he hasn’t felt this good since 2016 before his breakout season with the Browns, and he again said he wants to get back to being “dominant” after last year’s poor season with the Redskins. It’ll take leaping at least Jermaine Kearse and Robby Anderson on the depth chart, and Quincy Enunwa and others might also be ahead of him at this point.

The Patriots signed wide receiver Paul Turner, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.
Turner previously had a good showing for the Eagles in the preseason, and he caught nine passes for 126 yards for Philadelphia in four games in 2016. New England has a very crowded receivers group, but Turner will look to fight his way to a roster spot.

The Patriots released tight end Troy Niklas, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.
It’s a bit of a surprise the 2014 second-round pick of the Cardinals has been released so early in camp, but the Patriots are probably happy with their other tight ends behind Rob Gronkowski. Niklas shouldn’t have much trouble finding interest elsewhere.

The Broncos signed wide receiver Corey Brown.
“Philly” Brown spent his first three NFL seasons in Carolina before spending a brief part of last season in Buffalo (but not appearing in any games). Denver has a crowded receiving group, but Brown might be able to carve out a role as a fifth or sixth receiver because of his contributions on special teams. He might compete for the starting punt return job with the Broncos.

Sam Darnold remains unsigned, is not at the first training camp practice.
Darnold and the Jets have yet to agree to a contract, so the rookie quarterback is not with the team as training camp gets underway. In what’s expected to be a three-way competition between Darnold, Josh McCown, and Teddy Bridgewater, the rookie could fall behind quickly—especially with McCown playing well last season and Bridgewater reportedly looking great since he’s arrived in New York. Hopefully Darnold gets signed soon so he can get on the field with his new teammates.

Jon Gruden talks up Jordy Nelson.
Gruden praised his receivers, particularly Nelson and Amari Cooper, so he’s pleased with that position so far. Gruden says he can see why he was Aaron Rodgers’ security blanket for so long, which echoes what Derek Carr said a few weeks ago about the veteran receiver; Carr later added, effusively, that Nelson can certainly still run. There’s been talk that Nelson is over the hill, but everything we’ve heard in recent months—from Aaron Rodgers saying he knows Nelson has a lot in the tank, to the praise from Carr and Gruden—indicates otherwise. Nelson is locked in as a top-two target along with Cooper in Oakland, and he still has 1,000-yard, 10-touchdown upside at 33 years old.
