Join now >Deon Cain is thought to have a chance to push for a sizable role as a rookie.
A sixth-round pick in this year’s draft that dropped because of character concerns, Cain was a standout from offseason training and reportedly had another good showing in today’s training camp practice. Andrew Walker of Colts.com believes that if Cain keeps it up, “he’ll undoubtedly be pushing for lots of passes to be thrown his way by the time the regular season rolls around.” We really like Cain’s ability, and Indy has a wide-open depth chart behind T.Y. Hilton. A first-year impact is not out of the question for the former Clemson Tiger.

Corey Coleman has improved his diet this year.
New Browns receiver Jarvis Landry has taken the third-year receiver under his wing after he saw he was eating chicken fingers and fries. Coleman says he’s now eating more fish and that it’s “worked out” for him so far and that his body has changed. Coleman also says he’s at 192 pounds, which is where he wants to be for the season. For as long as Josh Gordon is out, Coleman is going to get a ton of reps with the first team offense opposite Landry, so hopefully he takes advantage heading into an important year. The talent is there for the former first-rounder, and he has the potential to make an impact if he stays healthy.

The Seahawks are placing Ed Dickson (groin) on the non-football injury list.
Pete Carroll says Dickson has a “minor groin injury” that happened in the last couple of weeks, so they’re taking it slow with him. The former Panthers tight end can return to the field at any time when he gets healthy. Dickson is competing for the starting tight end spot in Seattle.

Tyler Eifert (back) is officially on the PUP list to start training camp.
This was expected. Now, we just wait for Eifert to get right so he can be back on the field with his teammates. Tyler Kroft will take most of the first-team reps while Eifert is sidelined.

Dalvin Cook is fully participating in Vikings training camp.
The second-year running back was a participant in team drills toward the end of offseason training, and all indications were he’d be out there for the start of training camp. Cook has been seen without a knee brace for at least parts of practice, which is also a great sign. Latavius Murray will get a good amount of backfield work after the season he had for Minnesota last season, but Cook is expected to be featured heavily this season. The dynamic second-year runner is currently going in the top two rounds of fantasy drafts.

The Eagles have officially placed Alshon Jeffery on the PUP to start training camp.
Jeffery just had shoulder surgery on a torn rotator cuff in February, and this was fully expected. There’s talk of Jeffery potentially missing the entire preseason, but we’ll see if he gets to 100% sometime this summer—though the Eagles should not rush Jeffery back into action, and they probably won’t. While Jeffery is out during camp and the preseason, the other Eagles receivers will get more reps and should become more comfortable in the offense. Nelson Agholor, Mike Wallace, and Mack Hollins are likely to get most of the first-team work with Jeffery out.

Eric Ebron says he’s lighter this year.
Ebron declined to tell NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero exactly how much weight he dropped, but he says he dropped weight last season and felt good, so he stuck with it. The former top-ten pick of the Lions has a game that focuses on athleticism, so being lighter and quicker is probably best. In his first year with the Colts, Ebron could have some backend TE1 value with Frank Reich expected to utilize a lot of multiple-tight-end sets.
