Join now >The Browns have signed Evan Berry as an undrafted free agent.
Berry is the younger brother of Chiefs All-Pro safety Eric Berry, and he played defensive back at Tennessee (like his brother). However, the Browns are moving Berry to the offensive side of the ball at wide receiver, which is where he worked out during the pre-draft process. Berry battled injuries during the end of his college career, including a season-ending knee injury as a senior, but he was an All-American kick returner in 2015; that season, he averaged 38.3 yards per return and had three return touchdowns. Berry might have an uphill climb to make Cleveland’s roster, but he is an athletic player that should be kept in mind. If he doesn’t make the 53-man roster, Berry might be a good bet for the practice squad this season.

The Falcons and quarterback Matt Ryan have agreed to a five-year extension worth $30 million per year, including $100 million guaranteed, according to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen.
It is the largest contract in NFL history, and the guaranteed money easily surpasses Kirk Cousins’ $84 million. Ryan, the 2016 NFL MVP, is one season removed from throwing for 4,944 yards, 38 touchdowns, and seven interceptions while leading Atlanta to Super Bowl LI, and despite losing offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan in 2017, his play didn’t fall off much. Turning 33 in exactly two weeks, the former third-overall pick is likely going to finish his career with the Falcons, though that always seemed like it would be the case. We would expect Ryan to bounce back from a statistical standpoint in 2018, especially after wide receiver Calvin Ridley was drafted in the first round last week to add to an offense that already includes Julio Jones, Mohamed Sanu, Devonta Freeman, and Tevin Coleman. Ryan should be a tremendous value as a QB1 option in the middle of fantasy drafts this summer.

The Jets have cut quarterback Bryce Petty, according to multiple reports.
The move was first reported by Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. This comes days after the Jets were reportedly attempting to trade Petty, so apparently no teams were willing to part with a pick in next year’s draft to acquire the third-year quarterback. The former Baylor star hasn’t played great during his first two NFL seasons, throwing four touchdowns compared to ten interceptions, but he does have a good arm and good size. He probably won’t have much trouble finding a new team.

UPDATE: There is no arrest warrant out for Robby Anderson.
Yesterday, it was reported that Anderson did not appear in court for his reckless driving charge, and therefore the warrant was issued. However, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo spoke to Anderon’s attorney, Ed O’Donnell, who says it was a clerical error and that they were not notified that Anderson was supposed to appear in court yesterday. This is good to hear, as Anderson doesn’t need any more trouble after he’s been arrested twice since the start of 2017. Unless he is suspended by the NFL for his off-field issues and misses games, Anderson has a chance at 1,000 yards this season.

Running back Mark Thompson is signing with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent.
Thompson spent his first two years of college at the JUCO level, then he spent his junior and senior seasons with the Florida Gators. He’s a big back that did some damage with his touches, including an 85-yard reception and and 85-yard rush. Thompson will look to make Baltimore’s roster this season, but he’s not a fantasy option right now.

Jason Witten is retiring from the NFL after 15 seasons, according to ESPN’s Todd Archer.
He took some time making what must have been a very difficult decision, but after one of the greatest careers in Dallas Cowboys history, the extremely reliable tight end is joining the Monday Night Football booth for ESPN. Witten was a third-round pick of the Cowboys in 2003 and played with them for his entire career. During his 15 seasons in the NFL, Witten was a franchise stalwart, missing just one game his entire career after a broken jaw during his rookie season. Witten played in 239 games for Dallas, catching 1,152 passes for 12,488 yards and 68 touchdowns. Some of Witten’s NFL records include most receptions in a season by a tight end (110 in 2012); most receptions in a game by a tight end (18); his receptions and yardage numbers are second for tight ends in NFL history (behind only Tony Gonzalez) and are Cowboys franchise records; and his 239 consecutive games is an NFL record for tight ends. And currently, Witten sits at fourth place on the all-time receptions list in NFL history. Perhaps most importantly, Witten won the 2012 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award for his work off the field and in the community. Witten is almost a lock to make the Hall of Fame, and he’ll certainly always remain a Cowboys legend. Football fans will now hear him every Monday night calling Monday Night Football games.

The Titans picked up Marcus Mariota’s fifth-year option.
Titans GM Jon Robinson said the team was going to pickup the franchise quarterback’s option, but we were expecting an official announcement from the team at some point. Nevertheless, Mariota is officially under team control through the 2019 season, and the two sides are very likely to work out a long-term extension at some point within the next year or so. Mariota will hopefully be able to have consistency at offensive coordinator moving forward, starting this season with new OC Matt LaFleur. This year, Mariota has a ton of upside as someone that is likely to go outside the top-ten quarterbacks in many fantasy drafts this summer.
