Join now >Travis Etienne (foot) has been placed on injured reserve.
The move officially ends his season, and Etienne will now be fully focused on returning in 2022. Dynasty owners should look to buy low on the former Clemson standout—who we expect to be healthy and running behind an improved offensive line next year.

Adam Trautman not thought to be dealing with a major injury, according to Nick Underhill.
Thankfully, despite getting carted to the locker room, Trautman’s injury isn’t like the one that rookie running back Travis Etienne (likely out for the season) suffered during the Jaguars-Saints game last night. Trautman’s Week 1 might be in jeopardy, but we’ll see if there’s a more definite timeline on his status moving forward.

Travis Etienne (foot) is likely done for the season.
Etienne was injured on just one touch in last night’s preseason game, and his season unfortunately appears to be over. This is just a brutal blow for Jacksonville’s first-round pick, and he will undergo surgery with a focus on returning in 2022. In addition to the redraft implications (especially for those who already had their drafts), Etienne—who we rank as an RB1 in dynasty leagues—gets knocked down some in dynasty leagues; on the bright side, the injury shouldn’t linger, but it will now be the James Robinson show again this fall/winter. Already undervalued, the former undrafted runner can easily be a top-15 option in 0.5 PPR leagues, and Carlos Hyde gets a boost towards more stable FLEX territory.

Luke Willson is expected to sign with the Seahawks.
Willson is obviously very familiar with Seattle, and the veteran tight end is back again to add depth at the position. It won’t be a surprise if Willson makes a notable real-life impact, but he’s off the fantasy radar for now.

The Panthers are signing Robby Anderson to a two-year, $29.5-million extension, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
While a short-term deal, this is very surprising news with Carolina also having D.J. Moore and second-round Terrace Marshall Jr.—not to mention Christian McCaffrey at running back—on the roster, but the team obviously places a priority on skill-position talent. We have Anderson below Moore in the redraft rankings by a significant margin, but this extension might mean the former Temple standout should be moved up as a key part of the offense.

The Falcons cut Javian Hawkins.
Hawkins was thought of as a guy with a pretty good shot to make the Falcons roster, but the team does have a relatively crowded running back group when you throw Cordarrelle Patterson into the mix. Hawkins might get picked up by another team, but the Falcons practice squad might be a good landing spot if not.

Travis Etienne suffered a mid-foot sprain.
Etienne is considered out indefinitely, but more testing should give a more defined recovery timeline. The explosive first-round pick appears to be buried on the depth chart based on preseason snaps, so that paired with the injury will certainly cause a tumble down draft boards in the coming days. Etienne is an exceptional talent, though, and hopefully he doesn’t miss much time.
