Join now >James White scores in Super Bowl loss to the Eagles.
White had another very good game in the Super Bowl, following up last year’s insane performance in the Super Bowl LI win over Atlanta. White carried seven times for 45 yards and a touchdown while adding two receptions for 21 yards through the air. The score came on a 26-yard run where White made great moves and broke tackles. Next season, White will be back in a committee and will have a role, so he’ll have some start-worthy fantasy weeks and will be an option late in fantasy drafts.

Kerwynn Williams is signing with the Chiefs, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Rapoport says Williams had other opportunities but wanted to sign with Kansas City. This is a bit of a surprise, as the Chiefs have one of the most crowded running back depth charts in the NFL. Kareem Hunt, Spencer Ware, Charcandrick West, and the recently signed Damien Williams are all already among those in the mix. It’s possible the Chiefs are planning to part ways with Ware, who is coming off a serious knee injury, at some point. Williams will try to carve out a nice role behind workhorse Kareem Hunt.

John Elway doesn’t commit to C.J. Anderson being back with the team in 2018.
When asked about his starting running back, the Broncos GM said, “we’ll see.” At this point, it would be a shock if Anderson was back, as Denver would have zero cap impact by releasing him, and they seem to love 2016 fourth-round pick Devontae Booker. The team is probably seeking a trade partner, but if not, Anderson will probably released soon. Elway also said that wideouts Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders will be back with the team in 2018, which should be a selling point for Kirk Cousins and other free agent passers.

The Bears are signing wide receiver Bennie Fowler, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
It’s a one-year deal for the former Broncos receiver, according to Schefter. Fowler spent the first three years of his career in Denver after he was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2014, and he was a solid contributor on both offense and special teams. Fowler had a career-high 29 receptions, 350 yards, and three touchdowns last season, and now he’ll look to have a larger role in Chicago with the Bears. He’s not a highly-reccomended fantasy option right now, but Fowler is someone to watch in a revamped Bears offense.

Danny Amendola leads Patriots in receiving in Super Bowl LII loss.
Aside from one deep pass down the sideline, Amendola started the game off relatively slow, but he really picked it up in the second half and had a monster game as the Patriots tried to keep up with the Eagles. Amendola caught eight of 11 targets for 152 yards, including a long of 50 yards. Next season, Amendola will almost certainly be back with New England, but it will be difficult to trust him as a consistent fantasy asset, as he’s typically someone that is limited throughout the regular season and basically comes up in key situations before playing a bigger role as a clutch player in the playoffs.

Mark Sanchez has been suspended by the NFL for the first four games of 2018.
Sanchez violated the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy, which is a bit of a surprise. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says Sanchez will release a statement on the matter. It sounds like Sanchez might have taken something that he was unaware had a banned substance in it. Being suspended the first four games of the season will hurt the free agent’s chances of signing with a team, but he can still participate throughout the preseason and should land somewhere at some point.

Packers head coach Mike McCarthy says Ty Montgomery “is a running back.”
Some people were throwing the idea of Montgomery potentially switching back to wide receiver out there, but that isn’t going to happen. Since making the position switch, Montgomery has played very well at running back over the last couple of seasons, but as McCarthy said today, “his availability the last three years has been his challenge.” When Montgomery has been on the field, he’s been a great weapon for the offense as a runner and receiver, so he’ll continue to play out of the backfield for Green Bay. The Packers running back competition leading up to the season will be one of the most important fantasy storylines to watch, as Montgomery, Jamal Williams, and Aaron Jones all led the backfield at different parts of the season in 2017 because they all dealt with injuries throughout the year.
