Join now >Andrew Luck says he hasn’t thrown a football yet.
The Colts reported for offseason training with new head coach Frank Reich, so Luck is speaking to the media. There was some hope that Luck would be 100% and able to throw the ball for the start of offseason training, but he’s not quite there yet. Indy’s franchise quarterback said he skipped steps in rehab last time because he was “impatient,” and that he won’t be doing that again. Luck still seems confident, which is a great sign, but everyone will feel a lot better when he picks up the football and throws it around. For Phase One of offseason activity, the Colts are only allowed to do strength, conditioning, and rehab anyway, so it’s possible Luck doesn’t miss any on-field drills and has a full offseason.

Rob Gronkowski has officially cleared concussion protocol.
There was some concern he still wasn’t cleared after head coach Bill Belichick was coy about it during his press conference, but the All-Pro tight end is 100% and ready to go for Super Bowl LII, which is obviously great news for the Patriots. Philadelphia will need to find a way to limit Gronk, who is basically uncoverable and can give a defense headaches all game. After missing last year’s Super Bowl because of his back injury, Gronkowski should be laser-focused as he gets another crack at it this season with his team looking for its third ring in four seasons. Gronkowski is as good a bet as anyone to score in the Big Game on Sunday.

Jordan Matthews is only getting $170K guaranteed from the Patriots, according to Albert Breer.
Most people would be thrilled to take $170,000 guaranteed to sign a contract, but this is basically nothing for NFL teams when signing players. This deal indicates Matthews is going to have to prove he’s healthy and can produce if he’s going to make the Patriots roster. The fact that Matthews took this contract could mean he feels confident he can prove his worth, have a great season with Tom Brady throwing passes to him, and cash-in on a big free-agent deal next offseason. Right now, the third receiver spot behind Julian Edelman and Chris Hogan is up for grabs. New England is going to hope Matthews, Kenny Britt, Malcolm Mitchell, Phillip Dorsett, or someone else seizes the job. Whoever does will have good fantasy value in one of the league’s best offenses.

Giants talk up Eli Manning at the NFL Scouting Combine.
New head coach Pat Shurmur said they are going to move forward with Manning and pick the “very best player we can pick at No. 2.” Shurmur said the experience of Eli “really matters” because he’s basically seen almost everything an NFL defense will throw at you, unlike a rookie quarterback. Giants GM Dave Gettleman later talked about people supposedly devaluing the running back position, and said: “If he can play, he can play.” This time of year, it might be difficult to get a true read on what teams are thinking heading into the draft, but Penn State’s Saquon Barkley might be the heavy favorite to go to the Giants at No. 2 if the Browns don’t select him with the top pick in the draft. Either way, the Giants are going to try and compete in 2018, with Manning under center.

Trevor Davis was arrested on a misdemeanor threat charge at LAX.
The third-year Packers receiver reportedly and allegedly joked with a female companion in the check-in counter, asking her “did you pack the explosives?” Obviously, this was not a smart thing to say, but it sounds like he was only kidding. The ordeal cost Davis $15,000 in bond payment to get out of jail, and he has a preliminary hearing set for May 3, according to NFL.com. NFL discipline might not be likely, but this isn’t a good move for someone that’s probably on the border of making Green Bay’s roster this year.

The Cardinals want to run the ball a lot next season.
David Johnson, who basically missed the entire season after suffering a wrist injury in Week 1 and never returned once he hit injured reserve, said he talked to new head coach Steve Wilks, who is “ready to run the ball.” There are a ton of great running backs in the NFL right now, and Johnson might be atop the list, so it’s not the least bit surprising that the defensive-minded Wilks already told his star player he’ll be used a lot. While he might not get quite as heavy of a workload as he did under Bruce Arians, Johnson is still likely to be among the league leaders in touches next season. DJ has to be selected in the first round of all fantasy drafts in 2018, and he’d be a steal if he drops in any league because he’s not fresh on people’s minds after missing most of the 2017 season.

The Redskins waived quarterback Stephen Morris, according to Ian Rapoport.
After Washington traded for former Browns quarterback Kevin Hogan on Friday, this isn’t a surprise. The 25-year-old Morris has been with a few teams throughout his career, but he shouldn’t have too much trouble landing someplace else even if he isn’t claimed. The Redskins look like they’ll go with Alex Smith, Colt McCoy, and Kevin Hogan on the depth chart this season unless they draft a rookie quarterback at some point.
